I know, I know, almost all of us are in shock after the news which we were making fun of came as an IF article. We still denied. Then came the pics. The bomb was dropped.
Honestly, I was so so disturbed with it that I could not even sleep.
I mean Casanova Dev? In that leather jacket and goggles.😳 Ms Aubhodro Sonakshi.
7 years leap. Wth is happening right?

This post is specially dedicated for those who need a little hope to hold on to the show, who want something to look forward to in this show.

The drama has been increasing manifold times ever since the new writers dropped in. Though I don't think much of character assassination happened, it was more of the layers of characters unfolding..
Dev, who was a sauve businessman, smart, sharp, devoted soon transformed into a gentle caring lover.. enjoying the love life gave to him. Soon this loving doting boyfriend and devoted son changed to a less-intelligent, running from problems kind of a guy. Someone who could not face problems directly, who could not speak for his love. Had Dev changed? No, situations did.
We explored so many layers of his personality, some we loved, some we loathed.
Same goes for Sonakshi, a young chirpy but focused girl who was independent, turned to a gooey girl in love before the confession, then to a girl who couldn't express, then we saw her melting in Dev's arms finding happiness with him, soon we saw her transforming to an epitome of sacrifice by aggreeing to marry R, then as a tigress when this marriage broke up. Finally when she married the love of her life, she gave her best to accommodate herself as per his choice. Being with him in every step even if that meant compromising her core personality.
Did she change? Was her character assassination done? No, it was only adding dimensions to her personality.
Ishwari from a struggling mother, to a sick patient, then a possessive mother turning to a manipulative, cunning one, all just many sides of her personality.

With this episode, or maybe the next one..a chapter of DevAkshi's journey comes to an end. An incomplete end.
💔
I don't know what you felt, but with every memory flashing before sona's eyes I was literally having a lump in my throat.
And I noticed a tear escaping my eyes when I saw the marriage scenes. Such beautiful smiles, so many hopes, promises..all coming to an end.
How brutally the people Dev called his own have murdered his life. How people took advantage of the weakness of these two lovebirds to separate them forever.
Yes, Dev never stood up for Sonakshi but he did that for his family. And what have they given in return? No mercy, heartlessly using him for their needs.
Ishwari wanting divorce, Vicky wanting to take revenge, GKB snatching the money, his sister wanting his family to break for her sweet satisfaction.
For whom did you disrespect your life Dev? For these people? Who are waiting to see you be destroyed?
For once, I am glad that vicky is also planning to separate Ishwari and Dev.

After the leap, as per the spoilers, his scars would impact him like no one expected. He would stop caring for the family he loved. (Thank god for this) Once an overly emotional, devoted man would turn to a carefress, reckless person. An appearance that reflected his sincerity once would reflect his I dont care attitude.
About his casanova image, he would try to find completeness with the girls, trying to search for his Sonakshi in each one of them, hoping that she wasn't unique, hoping he will find happiness again. I have thisnmuch faith in him that he would stay faithful to her till the end.

Sonakshi, who kept all her pride aside for him. What did she get in return of her emotions? She expected Dev to speak for her, to admit he was wrong, what did she hear? Get out.
No one stopped her.
She kept walking and her love kept staring at her. Hoping that she would stop on her own, one more time. One more time, she would forgive him and his mistakes. One more time, he will get a chance. One more time, her love would take over.
Not this time, Dev. This time she won't be weak. She never forgot those promises she made but she realised it is impossible to fulfill them now.

What we will see after the leap, is an Aubhodro Sonakshi. Hiding her emotions, as cold as ever, so that no one in this life again would take advantage of her emotions like he did.

Two souls, separated by their own faults, pulled apart forever by wicked manipulators.
This tear was repairable only if any third person wasn't involved. A separation is inevitable..
Is it the end?

Na, never. If they aren't together, it isn't the end yet.

P.S I am all for the leap if there is no child involved (it will be way too clichd then) ans the leap is lesser than 7 years.

Please hold on friends. Give this show one more chance . I am very hopeful about it.

Thanks di for writing this post...was looking for positivity in the forum and bang comes ur post...I am really looking forward to the leap and as far as dev's Casanova character is...I think the term is exaggerated(strictly my pov)...coz I even read in some article that he will only take care of his business and I think will find solace in his work and his memories of Sonakshi...

I also do realise that this post may not find many readers as the way in which the entire transistion happened was very abrupt, was very brutal. They let evil win over goodness, they made it seem like a mockery of love, of marriage.
That is how emotions are, they make you do sins, without even making you realise what you have done. Before you wake up, you are already in the grave. That happened with Dev today.

I have no problem with leap but don u think today's episode was totally a disconnected one.

Sonakshi left the house and Dev went for drinking??? Is it really possible??
I felt the leap is forcefully pushed in. A man who was trying to pacify his wife like mads just let her go like that.

Today's episode had no essence of KRPKAB.

Post leap Dev as Cassanova? I mean i would accept a reclused Dev, a rebel Dev, a broke Dev or even a schizophrenic Dev but how can Dev bcum Cassanova? He only knows to love one women and that is Sonakshi. They for no reason are killing Dev, v all had fallen for

I'm surprised to see you're still hopeful Saumya. I honestly feel shattered to see what has become of the show, which was so beautiful. Somehow, I can't connect to this love only anymore. For the first time ever I didn't feel for any character. Honestly, I feel cheated. There were other ways to take this story forward than such a melodramatic separation. Anyways, as usual you wrote a beautiful post. So much, that it brought tears to my eyes. I so wish this was a bad dream and that I'd wake up to find my old KRPKAB back, but alas! :(

Saumiee, how do manage to remain positive in the darkest hour. Your post is like the last string of hope for the show. I agree the characters were never butchered but given various dimensions. I strongly believe that there was no need of the leap and story could have have been proceeded without it.
I am really worried about the core elements of the characters, specially Dev. Dev a casanova is really hard to imagine, like really. If they would have shown Mr. abhodro back in action, the ruthless businessman then there was something to look forward. Now watching Dev zooming on bikes and flirting with girls, i dunno how we will be able to relate with him. It took lot of time, brain and heart to understand his complex character, to understand his actions and to see through his POV. And now again we have to see a Dev. I doubt this time we will get any time to relate with him or not.
And I am sure they will not tamper with Sona's character much. She will be busy saving her family, raising her kid and being a superwoman.
I really dunno what to expect now.

And your PS, the same thing i was telling to Nandu. No child please and no 7 year leap. Two year leap will be enough.
