😃 Well honestly I know many of us have given up on Sonakshi Bose and her zero attempt to work on her dignity at her in-laws place. When we blame Dev primarily for failing to protect her honour, being today's woman I cannot stop holding Sonakshi responsible for this as well. When I see objectively, Dev becomes blind and numb when things come to Ishwari. He is yet to even THINK of start balancing things between mommy and wife. But Sonakshi is no different. The moment she left Rithwik and her parents in the engagement night, she chose her 'love' for Dev over her 26 yrs of upbringing. When we blame Dev for being obsessed with Ishwari to forget his own existence, we can blame Sonakshi equally to forget everything else in matters concerning Dev. Sona too needs to learn balancing between her parents' honor and dignity and her love for Dev. While Dev's obsession has made Sonakshi a victim, Sonakshi's obsession with Ishwari has made Bijoy-Asha victims of being in the receiving end of unnecessary allegations and taunts. Right after Ishwari had screamed at Bijoy in Bose house, Sonakshi wanted to have an ice-cream in the car 😕. GKB had many times told derogatory things about Bose parents in front of Sona, not ONCE Sona protested strongly not to badmouth her parents EVER. If my parents are today insulted at my in-laws place, I would hold MYSELF responsible for failing to protecting their respect at my new-found home my 'lau' has brought me in. If my family is against me marrying the guy I love and remain in constant fear that I am being harassed at my inlaws place, it's MY responsibility to ensure that I am not, my responsibility to take stand for myself and to make things right, so that my parents at their old age are in peace that I am in safe hands. Me not letting my education (given by them) gone to drain, not letting my dignity gone to drain is a small token of sense of assurance I can give my parents to stop their insecurity. Unfortunately, Sonakshi in her obsessive mission for Ishwari, has forgot all these responsibilities and reduced herself into a creature worth self-pity and empathy. How did she help Baba in assuring that she is fine at Dixits place and that no one can take advantage of her and that he need not worry so much about her ? She didn't. She surrendered herself in the hands of selfish Dixits to make Baba react even more in tracks like this infertility.
Just a thought, while discussing about her extreme low self-esteem, sense of self-respect and allowing her in-laws and husband to treat her like a baby making machine - I began to think when was the first time she created this downfall of hers, her position in her in-laws place that today she has to put the negotiation claws on the table to save her marriage (if I steal Tia's language).
For me, she started allowing the Dixits to walk all over her on the very next day during Tulsi Puja where Dadi Bua shouted at Sonakshi in front of Kichu Bhaiya, ignoring her and then asking Kichu Bhaiya to bring water to wash the mud created by her. An educated nutritionist/doctor is being insulted like that in the 2nd day of her in sasural in front of the maid. I am not demeaning anyone's profession here, but an outsider is an outsider. If I am at Sona's place, I would have definitely been HUGELY upset and made my point clear to my inlaws later that no one can insult me that way. 1 time is understood, but this better not to be repeated.
But Sona didn't. And ever since then the walkover began all over her. She failed to make people aware of her dignity. Now her infertility is being discussed in public, her MIL is accompanying her in the infertility treatment. I have no words to explain how cheap that makes me feel. But she is the creator of her own destiny.
