Hello everybody! It's been long since I made a post on this forum. I stopped watching the show since the pregnancy drama but unfortunately I watched day before yesterday's episode and it compelled me to make this post.
Pretence. Hypocrisy. Lies.
This should be the actual title of the show rather than Kuch rang pyar ke aise bhi.
Why, you ask? I'll tell you.
A. Mr. Dev Dixit pretends to be the bad guy with a golden heart who claims to love his wife but this facade of love comes off ever time his mother comes into picture. For example:
-Broke up with Sonakshi for his mother.
-Cancelled honeymoon for maa, without Sonakshi's consent.
-Left Sonakshi waiting at a club in the middle of the night because he was too spineless to speak a word to his mother.
-Knew all along that his mother didn't gel well with Sonakshi but did nothing to resolve that issue.
-Saw no real problem when Sonakshi told him that his precious maa cared for his wife just because she was going to reproduce an offspring. That was the last straw.
B. Mrs.Ishwari Dixit pretends to like her bahu just because she's going to give her an heir. Such pretense much wow. She has always pretended to be the goddess who can never make mistakes. For example:
-Pretending to be okay with Dev-Sona relationship
-Pretending to be affectionate for Sonakshi when she was pregnant.
-Pretending to be nice to Sona after the wedding.
-Pretending to be sorry when Sona's birthday plan for Dev went down the drains.
There is only one sin, only one. And that is theft. Every other sin is a variation of theft. When you kill a man, you steal a life... you steal his wife's right to a husband, rob his children of a ather. When you tell a lie, you steal someone's right to the truth. When you cheat, you steal the right to fairness... there is no act more wretched than stealing.
-Khaled Hosseini
C. When I read the bold part, it reminds me of Dev, of all the unforgivable lies that he has told Sonakshi and his dear maa. He had the heart to play with such sensitive emotions of two people who he claims to love the most. Such values, much wow!
D. Ishwari thinks and wishes that her daughters should be treated like Queens in their sasural but when it comes to her bahu, she refers to her as 'kal ki ladki' 'woh ladki' 'mere beta cheen liya' etc. Hypocrisy much?
Where are the colours of 'love' in this drama of pretense, lying and being hypocritical?
E. The last straw is that Dev is going to slap Bijoy, who by the way has a valid and logical point in everything he says. And Dev is going to do this amazing job for his dearest, holy, pure Maa. Say hello to a feminist, women respecting, sanskaari boy with high values!
My only question is why are CVs trying to potray Sonakshi as a dumb woman with no self respect? Why is she being so tolerable to all the injustice that has been happening with her in the mad house? Why is she so blindly invested in this one sided relationship that she has forgotten to live for her and her family's self respect?
As a woman, I felt insulted that Sonakshi, who probably can't conceive ever, couldn't even share the pain of what she lost but a woman who can't be a grandmother was the real topic of concern. I fail to understand why was Sonakshi okay with going through all the treatments to get 'maa' back to the house? The parents have the right to decide whether they want to get treated or not, nobody else has the right to do it/force it down your throat. Why is Sonakshi still hell bent in becoming a part of Ishwari's house? Isn't it high time for her to leave Dev and his family? I think it is.
Rant over.
