DEV's POV

I reached home late.. I stayed in a plush apartment on the 5^th floor.. the corridor had a gate since these were highly secured colonies... I opened the door and entered the corridor, my house was on the left side and right in front of it, on the opposite side was vik's house, he lived with his wife.. elina who was also my best friend.. I opened my door and walked into a symmetrically arranged living room with only the bare essential furniture... I bee lined in the dark and made my way straight into the kitchen, opened the fridge and took the bottle of water out and drank my heartfelt.. just as I kept the bottle down the light switched on and there stood elina "itna late aaya hai tu vapis... mujhe laga pata nahi kay hogya" she said as she took a seat at my coffee table...

"haan woh ek ladki..." I began

"LADKI" eli squealed and before I could explain further she was singing at the top of her lungs and when finished she said "thank god dev, ki tune ladki kaha toh... nahi toh mujhe toh shak hi hone lag gaya tha, ki kahin tujhe ladkian pasand bhi hai, ya nahi... chal ab jaldi se bata, kab, kahan, kaise, naam toh bata..." finally after what seemed like eternity, she shut up

I shook my head and said "kitna bolti hai tu... " holding up a finger I continued "aisa nahi hai jaisa tu soch rahi hai... woh mai ek ladki se takra gaya tha... toh ussne mujhse help mangi and maine kar di... bas itna hi" at the end of my speech I was hoping she would not catch the fakeness... but when have I got what I had asked for..

" kuch toh hua hai... jiska pata tujhe shayad baad mein chalega... "saying this, she got up and I rolled my eyes

"tu yahn itni raat ko kya kar rahi hai?" I asked her

"arey woh teri shirts aai thi laundry hoke, toh galti se mere ghar aa gai thi.. toh wahi rakhne aai thi.." I just nodded and she said "good night!" and left me alone with my memories of the brown eyed girl!!

I could not sleep again!! For the last one week, the thoughts of this girl were what kept me awake, I was plagued by her brown eyes!! She was all I could think about, I rolled over on my torso and checked my watch 3:15 am gosh she would kill me!! I got up stretched myself, put on some clothes and headed for a long run...i planned the next step in the mission.. and soon I was so absorbed in my thoughts that I lost the track of time and at around 5 am came back home... I moved in and checked my mails and there it was my DGP had called me to his office and ria too had the results we were waiting for, without much further ado I showered and sat down to work on my files that were needed.. at around 7 am, I heard a sharp knock on my door.. I got up and opened it to see eli standing at the door with a tray of breakfast.. I took the tray from her hands and she left, this was our normal routine she loved taking care of my food habits as if I could not do it myself I took the tray to the counter and ate my share..

"reports or stats toh impressive hai lekin mujhe results dekhne hai dixit... tumhara plan paper pe toh perfect hai.. lekin..." DGP baldev singh said..

"execute bhi perfectly hoga sir" he looked impressed and I knew it was just a matter of time when he would approve it... and just like I had predicted he approved the plan and my team met me in the hall... "sir ne kaha hai ki..." I began in a grave tone... they were looking at me without batting an eyelash... "ki plan aacha hai.. or approval bhi de dia hai..." hearing my words the team broke the ice and congratulated me and we all decided to meet at my place in the evening to plan the time for execution!!

I stepped out the building and the blazing sunshine hit me... I squinted my eyes and waited for them to adjust to the light.. I was walking towards my car when I bumped into someone and again I was staring in the same deep chocolaty brown orbs.. I thought I was imagining the whole thing, but then the girl beside her shook her and steadied her and I cleared my throat and before I could say something, I heard her loudly gasp "drug dealer" and I frowned seriously... that bad...

but before I could correct her misunderstanding her friend whom I recognized as the girl who lived below me answered "arey nahi yeh koi drug dealer nahi hai... yeh toh SP Devrath Dixit hai" she looked shock and I saw the color drain out of her face as realization dawned on her!!

"ji mai drug dealer nahi hoon..." I said half embarrassed and half proud that I had picked a profession like this...

"sorry woh maine uss din aapko dekha p..." she began

before she could blow my cover I interjected "koi baat nahi..."

she lowered her gaze and mumbled an incoherent apology, and then lifted her face flashed me a brilliant smile and said.."mai dr Sonakshi Bose hoon..." wow... she was just as beautiful as her name...

"dr sonakshi bose" before I could stop myself I had already uttered her name as if it was a prayer... before they could notice my absorption I quickly changed the topic and asked "kahan ja rahe ho?"

as expected her friend answered "actually hum hospital se mere ghar ja rahe the... sona toh akele rehti hai na toh hum aksaar mere ghar pe dinner krte hai.."

i felt uncomfortable, a sudden urge to remove the extra girl out from the equation... strange I had never felt this way... "mai drop kr deta hoon!!" I said and both the girls were taken aback... but soon agreed I started leading the way and they followed, we were walking, and someone bumped into sonakshi and just like before, when I had felt the strange urge to remove the excess from the equation, I felt the need to protect her... may be because thats how the universe works the strong protecting the weak, or for some twisted reason or other I just wanted to make sure nothing or rather no one hurts her till the time I am incharge!! I grabbed the guy from the collar... probably a student or a bpo worker and shook him till his teeth rattled!!

"SP sir chodeiye usse!!" and as soon as I heard her, it was as if none of this mattered, and I left that poor fellow and without looking back he ran!! We were quiet, the three of us, as I lead them to my car!! I opened the door to my audi a4 and the girl who lived below me took the front seat, a part of me was irritated, that she snatched away my chance of sitting down with sonakshi, and the other was glad that even though she was seated at the back seat she would be in my clear sight!! I started driving and I noticed how her frame had become a little thinner, how there were dark circles around her eyes!! She looked tired and before I could control myself, curiosity got the best of me, and voila I asked her "aap itni thaki thaki si kyu lag rahi hai dr bose???"

i bit my tongue, she raised her head as if shocked and replied in a small voice "actually meri tabiet theek nahi thi!!" and I was worried she looked so frail, what if she had some disease, what if she was infected!! I was really going a little overboard with her concern, so I just shut myself up and through the ride I figured the other girl aka my neighbour aka nikita was also a doctor and they were working together from the last 6 months!! I was trying really hard to keep my thoughts to myself and when I reached the building I was a little too glad that I had managed to not make a fool of myself in front of that one person!! She smiled and waved a bye and surprisingly I waved back it was like she was bringing the more humane emotions to the surface!! I took the stairs and went straight to my lavish bathroom ... I splashed some water on my face and took my shirt off and changed into something more comfortable... I drew my chair and plugged in my mac book, went back to studying the various compilations and test results ria had come up with!!

i drew various conclusion but they kept linking me back to that one bas***d.. I shut down my system and called vik... "han, maine ria ke bheje hue results verify kar liye hai... ab sham ko jab tu aaega toh baki ka discussion kr lenge or one more thing.. maine jo woh building ke bare mein pata krne ke liye kaha tha uska kya hua??"

"maine baat ki hai... most probably or ek do din or lagange!!" he replied

Satisfied with my work I disconnected the call, and went to stand in the balcony, I had a large square shape balcony cum veranda... it looked down on the street, and gave a good view of my lush green surrounding... the wind was chilly and there were clouds forming.. I could sense the storm coming, little did I know the storm would shake my being!! I had prepared myself a cup of coffee and was standing outside in the balcony, when my thoughts drifted back to the girl with those big brown eyes, when I suddenly, looked down and found her walking out the compound of the building, first I thought my mind was playing some stupid tricks on me, but then when she didn't disappear, I figured it was a real dr sonakshi bose looking for a transport I don't know what got into me, but I sprinted down the stairs with my car keys and within minutes I was standing in the compound. She turned around and saw me an smiled and my heart melted, how could a living being look so angelic, I was awestruck.. I walked towards her and her smile widened... "aap mera peecha kar rahe ho na SP sir??" she asked me, mocking me, and I wondered did she possess mind reading abilities!!

"aapko aisa kyu lagta hai dr bose?" I counter questioned, her cheeks turned a bit pink and some color returned to her face

"nahi bas aise hi" I could feel she was intimidated by me.. how could I tell her the effect she had on me!!

"chaliye mai aap ko drop kr deta hoon..." I offered

"huh" she looked up me, my request catching her off guard... but soon it hit her and she agreed, we drove in silence and I dropped her home, she smiled and waved a bye to me, it was oddly contenting to watch her walk home safe, and knowing I was the one who did it... I had never had the desire to know somebody, let alone a girl, but she was different, all through the ride that she was silent I wanted her to look at me, say something, tell me about her day, about her life, her dreams, I wanted to know them all, I was afraid of what was happening to me, but more than that I was afraid that a huge part of me wanted to be a part of her life...

Actually its something even i thought that sonakshi should play a mojor role in the upliftment of the scenario!!! But actually its a tad bit predictable and it defiantely dosnt fit the image of the soft hearted girl that i so wanted to lead this tale!!!

Umm... i am sorry but i havent planned a sonakshi pov yet!! May be i will do a short chapter at the ned of the tale narrating one or two chapters from sonakshi's pov!!
