"Love is a decision, it is a judgment, it is a promise. If love were only a feeling, there would be no basis for the promise to love each other forever. A feeling comes and it may go. How can I judge that it will stay forever, when my act does not involve judgment and decision."
Erich Fromm, The Art of Loving
Hello people,
So after a series of VMs focusing on angst and heartbreak I was finally able to work with something happier. That said, this song was way too difficult but I still tried my best with it and I hope I did it some sort of justice.
The video basically explores Dev & Sona's life after marriage. They have their ups and downs, sometimes it's the conflicts that they are so often surrounded by that drag them down, other times it's their personal tiffs and disagreements. Marriage changes a relationship and especially with a family like the Dixits, there's a fresh problem to tackle everyday. In the midst of all that, you see Dev and Sona struggle to not only make sense of all that goes around them, but also develop a deeper understanding of each other. They make mistakes, they argue about the same but eventually their love and need for each other allows them to look past it all. There's madness and drama, plenty of it, but Dev and Sona have still managed to create a world of their own that's away from all that. It's a world where there's understanding, sharing, acceptance, empathy, forgiveness, intimacy and love. A lot of it. It's a world where no matter what, the sun always shines.
There's also ofcourse that vulnerability and fear of losing the other person but it only makes them fight harder against the odds stacked up against them. As it is said, falling in love may not be a choice but staying in love is. :) It's that choice, that promise that Dev & Sona make everyday to each other and also to themselves.
I hope you guys like this video and I hope it leaves you with a smile. It's longer than my usual vids but hopefully you won't find it too slow.
Feedback is always welcome :)
