Correct me if I am wrong ... but trust me Dev did not call Asha as maa ... he very cleverly adressed his mother and then he said aapke damad and bull...

Check the following video at 8:15& 8:16 ... ish acknowledged it too

And again at 8:49 - 8:51 the exchange was almost like dev confirming with ma ki all ok ... as if checking with her if she undertood his play and Ish also is like yeah i got it ... our spl bond ...

It was after calling Asha Maa he looked at Ishu for approval I think

May be but he realised his mistake now. Nd ishu maiyaa also gave a nod now end of this aunty issue.

No, he realised his mistake and called Asha Maa genuinely and yes he just looked Ishwari to confirm whether she is ok with it.and she nodded in yes

That last part of taking ishwari's approval/confirmation was not needed when he genuinely felt sorry and corrected his mistake. That means if ishwari would have shown displeasure or rota hua face, again he would have called aunty instead of Maa. Instead he should have told ishwari that henceforth he would call sona's mom, maa only as Sona also call you maa. That would have been growth in his character.
