That was all done with a purpose. Dev cant believe his luck after how kind Sonakshi was towards him. So he thinks this aunty issue isnt a big deal either. He thinks just as he got away with having his date wait for him for 1.5 hours followed by a no-show, he will also get away with sliding in asha aunty in the conversations... So he thinks she is just kidding.

Things got pretty heated and Sonakshi's mild sarcI tasm got to him in the morning.

wait till next week... I think we are finally getting somewhere

Sonakshi is taking control (in a good way) of their relationship because Dev cant lead without her

I don't know what exactly I feel about this episode. One thing is clear though. One needs an extreme amount of patience to get through it and then one is rewarded at the end when sona slays and ishwari stands there shocked as a statue. I for one, was really surprised and kind of annoyed at the seemingly casual handling of the situation by Sona. The background music was such that it felt like it was some normal nok jhok scene which it clearly wasn't.
But now what I feel is, Sona has understood that Dev is a hopeless case and any amount of crying, pleading, yelling is not going to work on him. Her dialogue "Meine aapko likhkhe bolke haske roke sab tarah se samjhane ki koshish ki par aap nahi samajhte" basically sums it up. So now she uses the approach that she used to resort to when she was just a nutritionist at his house. I remember her snarky and sarcastic comments usually got the message across in the initial episodes. And it might've occurred to her that maybe this would work this time as well.

Dev remains a hopeless spineless bumbling idiot and I pity what they have done to one of the most interesting characters of this show( atleast he was interesting for roughly the first 100 episodes of this show) the makers have reduced him to an idiotic mamma's boy who can't think for himself and can't make decisions for himself. What's sad is that he wasn't like this when the show started and progressed.
I hate the fact that the makers chose to sacrifice Dev's character to bring out ishwari's insecurities.

I have to admit tia I wasn't very happy with the hum sath sath hai hug in the segment until I read your post. Now I can look at it differently. So thanks for that :)

Your questions are completely valid. But here's what I think (keep in mind I might be completely wrong in my theories).

It is not easy to forgive and forget at the drop of a hat. But I think Sona has figured out that if she openly confronts Dev, he just argues and shouts and uses his standard dialogue, "Tum nehin samjhogi"...

So the best way to bring him in line is to give him a taste of his own medicine in a very polite manner.

It's a more effective strategy because you can't fight with someone who is calm and polite. But you can't change their mind or force them to do what you want either. So it's maddening.

I know. I am one of those passionate fight types who stands her ground and argues until the other one gives in (I don't storm away or condescending to my opponent though) and my husband is cool and calm in fight. He never raises his voice and never even approaches me in a threatening manner regardless how angry he is. The more angry he gets, the more polite he gets.

You can't fight that.

I think Sona is taking that approach. Has she forgiven Dev? Time will tell. His birthday might just be a Time Out day.

But if she keeps talking in a polite manner and yet calls Ishwari Aunty, Dev can't stop her either. He is powerless.

So I will wait and see how Monday turns out.

I am just happy to see our tigress back. 😆

So, about the strategy its like in a situation even though one is hurt but not carried away by instant reaction(anger), instead compose and get it done in other possible way. Hmmm so only we are calling them as strong.
Really really difficult to practice and follow, atleast Sona is Strong here, Good.. 😊

True, time will tell whether Sona forgiven or its just gone down in her heart for time being.

I think you are right, Sabita. But I think the reason everyone is upset is because Sona spoke in lighthearted teasing manner and the background music was the same.

I don't know if CVs will dash our hopes on Monday.

But regardless of approach, I want Sonakshi to stick on her ground until Dev asks for forgiveness and calls Asha Maa.

Otherwise, this all will seem like mockery to me.

I only read the written update too. I was busy today so didn't watch the episode yet.

Stupendous Post as always Tia👏

My two cents on the show are quotes from the book ' The Art of War'

"The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting."
Sun Tzu, The Art of War

Sona looks like is just doing that she showed Easwari the mirror without fighting or arguing...do most people take this approach No me included but looks like Sona follows the silent Satyagraha approach and that is better then shouting matches

Thus the expert in battle moves the enemy, and is not moved by him."
Sun Tzu, The Art of War

Sona showed Dev his own flaws just by her words she did not deter from what she wanted , and made it clear she was upset so his explanations did not move her..This was a classic move

I think Sona is now ready to engage in the actual War...let the War games begin

"Move swift as the Wind and closely-formed as the Wood. Attack like the Fire and be still as the Mountain."
Sun Tzu, The Art of War

Sona the heroine has risen today

P.S This is just from written episodes hope I am correct😉

Yes,he did take it very lightly expecting Sona to forgive & forget this matter as well.He is an idiot, coward, dumb etc etc.I don't expect anything sensible from him these days. But what I had a problem with was not the sarcasm but the BG music & delivery of dialogue which made the sarcasm look like teasing only.I hope what you and Tia are saying about Sona being serious about it and just handling it in a politer manner is true and we get to see something good on Monday.I hope Sona is really back to her form and takes control instead of meekly accepting everything.I hope she realizes the underlying issues and tackles them.

Y am I arguing or trying to understand today's epi . Mom respect just worth few teasing. Come to think of it Dev never once regretted calling Aunty but doing all his antics to stop calling his mom Aunty. He is not spineless he just loves his mom and Sona he just loves her in talks and his confineses of his bedroom. It's not Ishwari fault Dev is disappointment. Sona she is just trying to make best of the situation she is in. Her self respect and that of her mother tossed from window, way to go Sona. I am scared to fall in love.

Just saw the episode and precap... I think Sona is handling this very sensitively...she is deeply hurt by this aunty issue..she showed the hurt when she was talking to Ishwari about this.. Initially she thought Dev changed the way he calls asha all by himself and ishwari was not involved. So,She wanted to give Dev enough time to think and make the right decision and correct it himself..But when she told Ishwari about it... Ishwari's response clarified the matter to sona that it was not Devs idea but it is Ishwar who is making him do this... Sona might change the strategy a bit here... she is going to act mature and will not call Ishwari aunty in the party and Dev thought she understood him and the matter is closed and hence was saying all the cheesy words...
But clearly you can see Sona is still being sarcastic and she is not going to let it go.. She said yes she is the understanding one and she is the one who will have to make mature decisions as he is incapable of doing anything with out his mother... So rest assured .. dont think sona will just let this go with out taking ishwari and Dev down with her if needed.

GKB's confidence was laugh worthy... does she really think sona will be thrown out of the house if she calls ishwari aunty... isnt that a blessing in disguise...

Sona's understanding - I think during breakup, Sona thought Ishwari didnt like her for some reason and that is why Dev broke up with her.. Hence after marriage she is constantly trying to impress ishwari so that ishwari can start liking her... But that is not the real problem... Ishwari really loves sona as an individual but the fact that she is possessive and insecure to a questionable level is something Sona has started to understand from todays episode.. So from now on we expect a mature sona who fights for her rights instead of a silly docile sona who is trying to impress ishwari 24/7

That background music and the dialogues all became more and more intense as the episode progressed. Reason being Dev thought he was getting away with it but he isnt

Shaheer was wrong. This isnt a saas bahu drama.. its become a saas daamad drama and if Bijoy finds out it will soon become a sasur damad drama...

I am scared for Dev (And I am very critical of both Dev & Sonakshi so you can imagine how stron I felt today's episode was)
