If I was Sona i would pack my bags and haul @$$ out of that household. That certainly is NOT a healthy environment for any sane minded person to be living in.

After today's episode all I can say is I am hell scared of marriage😆 monster in law, spineless husband, sadistic and crass family members. So basically you are in a hell hole on this earth! What has Sona gotten herself into. No one deserves people like these in their lives. But then again this was due for toying with ritik' life. You reap what you sow. The only thing is Dev is getting away with all this😡 he is disappointment personified. What a disgusting character and an even more disgusting relation between mother and son.

This show for some time has had no Hero so to speak and today there is no Heroine. I read about the segment of the 'kiss' and forgive by Sona and wanted to share a true story here.
I once met a woman at a battered women's shelter where I volunteer she was beaten black and blue by her husband we counseled her and helped her find a place in a homeless shelter and we even had trained counsellors come and speak to her. She stayed in the shelter for a couple of days but then went back to her husband she would then come back again bruised black and blue after some days this cycle continued with her always going back then she got pregnant and came back beaten black and blue I asked the counsellor how can she even think of lovemaking with her husband let alone bring a child into the world for which the counselor said that the woman in question believed that making love to her husband will make him love her more..I was shocked to say the least and asked the counsellor how was that even possible for that the counsellor said when you have a very low self esteem, when you crave for attention even a little attention or attention in this form can make the person feel that everything was alright.

In my opinion that is what is being portrayed about Sona a character I absolutely adored and thought she was strong..But she has been decimated along with the non existent hero I don't know for what maybe to build up the great MAA because after all we growing up were taught that pati is 'DEV' pun intended.

I just wish the makers had some social responsibility in what they are portraying. I have watched American shows which had promiscuous relationships but the same show maybe even taught about HIV awareness where is the balance in this show? Or am I asking too much?

Don't be scared of marriage, Juhi. With the right partner it could be a wonderful partnership that will last a lifetime.

But two things to keep in mind is to see how the man is with his family. Does he have an easy, honest and open relationship or a reverent, subservient and no-communication relationship. The former is what you should look for because that means he was brought up with an easy and no burden atmosphere. That way he is more likely to speak out on your behalf if he needs to than the later situation.

Secondly, be very clear about how you want to be treated before marriage. Don't make assumption and don't move an inch. Then he will know what you will tolerate and what is absolutely unacceptable to you. Compromise on little things if you have to as long as he is doing the same. But don't compromise on things that matter to you. Don't undervalue yourself so that he doesn't do the same.

All the best and good luck.

Absolutely right, Sabita. I had seen the same situation happening over and over again.

Women who tolerate little humiliation and insults for a very long time, starts to develop a thick skin so that they start to matter less and less. And women who are beaten for a long time, develop an attitude of the same. They start to think they deserve them and think other women shouldn't complaint as well because they tolerated silently which creates cycle of abuse that span generations.

In India, Pati is referred to as "Dev". But then in India, Cow is also referred to as "Devi" and "mother". If we don't treat our mother the way we treat a cow, needless to say there is no reason to treat a "Pati" like we would treat a "Dev". We really have to stop referring human being and animals as God and Goddesses. Instead we have to start treating human being and animals what they are.

I have always felt that Indian shows, like some Indian movies should show some social responsibility and not encourage already biased and screwed up gender perception. But then, the problem is not the entertainment industry, the problem is us. When we stop being entertained by regressive mentality, they will stop showing them. They are here to make money. We dictate the content they are selling.

Oh completely missed your response there. Yes, you are absolutely right. You know how Dipika's character in Happy New Year (absolutely shitty movie by the way) was so dumb that she could forget all insults and name calling by SRK only if he speaks in English? Dev also becomes equally dumb when Mamaji uses big hindi words and references from ancient texts even if out of context.

But then how does a man who runs a successful business turns into a zombie-reject (because zombies eat brain, get it?) at home, I'd never understand that either.

Dharm shankat my @$$.. Just asking his mommy dearest to wait for 5 mins versus the lifetime memory of the pain you cause to your wife for the first bday after your marriage is not even a shankat. Dev acted like a Moron and using such wise 'shaastra' words for this cheap act is in fact a tauheen of the use. But Mamaji has always been referencing wrong words to a dumbhead person like Dev.

I dont know what education he has received from the enormous struggle of Ishwari depriving everyone else of everything, but personally speaking I have never seen more an uneducated gawaar like Dev in my life. A man who cannot protect the honor of his wife is not a man enough 👎🏼 Bang on post Tia though ! 😛

What has the show become. If what's wrong with the Indian society is what makers wanted to portray, they are doing an excellent job. But please, don't dare refer Dev as he is trying to balance things between his mother and wife, damn he is behaving as If he has to balance between his mother and illegal woman in his life about whom no one should know in his family or it will be a disgrace to his image. Ishwari is not an fault here.
For Asha, why do I feel even If Asha was to know everything happening or have had happened with Sona now or before marriage, her advice would still be the same. Like a typical Indian mother she would not want her daughters home to break and ask her to still understand Dev's point of view. She might even take the side of Ishwari and support her in a way like a girls mother.
I don't care about any Devakshi romance at this point. done with that.

I don't think Sona has become docile and pati grata - my feeling is that she is trying her best to make the marriage work because she knows her father, whom she looks up to never liked and trusted Dev. My feeling is that the Dhamaka about pre nup, medical reports and all these incidents are just around the corner - there is another separation due - am quite sure. We all know what happens when Sona is angry...😊😊

Agreed. You know the funny thing is that every time Sona forgives Dev, he says you are so understanding and nice and then takes advantage of that same understanding and niceness. If she is being understanding and nice, why don't you try to match up to her level? Why be an inconsiderate husband to an understanding wife?

I am not looking forward to tomorrow sappy romance either. It all seems fake to me as if Dev is giving consolation prize to Sona.

I know she is trying her best. But to me it looks like a futile attempt to watch the same cycle repeated over and over again. That's so frustrating. If there was any change in Dev's behaviour, any consideration for Sona next time, we won't be this frustrated. But it looks like the more she gives, the more he takes. No consideration is happening from his end.
