If you already read it, then know that today's episode is the continuation of the same claim.
I don't want to hurt you, so I'd lie about everything.
Because every one knows truth hurts and lie makes people happy.
If only Dev's money could make the lie last forever. But I guess somethings even Dev Dixit can't buy - like truth, a conscience, minimum amount of human decency, morals and ethics. But it's okay. He doesn't need them. After all he survived this long without them.
Everyone knows that when a wife lies to a husband on his face, she is a bad wife but when a husband does the same, he is a great husband who is doing it for her own good and because he doesn't want to hurt her.
Sonakshi is praising him left, right and centre and he is lapping it up as his due for being a convincing lier. True, which woman won't want a lier for a husband. Honesty in a husband that you can actually trust and rely on is so overrated.
In fact, even Riya and Nikki is impressed that the baby they call brother didn't shout for his mother for help.
Radha blames Sona for trying to separate mother and son, when Sona reminds her that she is separated from her mother, not Dev.
(BRILLIANT!!! That's what I have been saying since their marriage. The only one separated from their mother is Sona, not Dev. He is still attached to her umbilical cord.)
So Mami points out where Dev is showing his independence, in his mother's room.
Sonakshi sees and overhears Ishwari assuring Dev that she is with him in deceiving his wife, 100%. After all deception is their USP.
Someone wrote a post over the weekend that Dev actually wanted to learn to be independent. But after all Ishwari has a mother's heart. So she did everything on her own.
I don't know about a mother's heart, but any mother, who is actually concerned about making his son's life easier, would actually teach the son how to do the chore that he is (apparently) so eager to learn instead of doing it for him.
You know what they say, if you want to help a person, don't give them fish, but teach them fishing?
But no, Ishwari is happy that she is doing teamwork with Dev in deceiving the outsider, his wife.
Sona is absolutely pissed, rightfully so.
So Dev showed his burnt hand when he tried to iron his shirt and blames Sona not being sympathetic and considerate for expecting him to grow up and be independent. Just like he was so sympathetic and considerate for ALLOWING Sonakshi to decorate HIS room with her swing for two days.
Dev also mentions, that cleaning after a man is a girl's job. He is not anti-feminists or against females, he just thinks that women should keep at their place and let men run the world.
He is very open-minded about everything else.
Gotta give him credit for managing to injure himself in response to everyone of Sonakshi's wish. First her swing injures him so that's gotta go. Now ironing injures him, so he can continue to keep his mother employed at his service. If Sona actually asks him to help with the baby, then the baby would be punching him so that he can delegate that task as well.
Sona then finally calls out what we have been calling Dev and in REALITY call those boys who always run to mummy for everything - Mamma's boy.
But here I have a complaint for Sona. Darling, you knew that Dev may be everything but he will never be the equal life partner you wanted. That was Ritwik, remember? But you didn't want an independent man who was willing to let you go for your happiness. You wanted a man who wanted to keep you dangling for him until Mummy gave permission.
Now it's useless to complaint. You made your bed.
Anyhoo, Ishwari overhears that comment (Mamma's boy) and is shocked. Errr... Why? Isn't that what you want and trying so hard to maintain? Why are you shocked when that same mentality you are trying to foster got called a name?
It's like a person keeps making derogating comments on women and their place in society gets shocked when people call him or her sexist.
Precap: Ishwari cooking Halwa again. Prepared to see hypnotised Dev promising this time to send Sona to her Maika and only celebrate birthday with his world - his mother.
Radha tells Ishwari that Sona must have planned something Big for Dev's birthday.
Ishwari got her mission. Get, set, go.

EDITED: I remembered my mother-in-law's favourite quote that she says to her kids including me and her husband when they come whining...
One time, in the early days of our marriage, my husband went to Mom and said, "Tia made dinner last night. And OMG, it was so bad. But I ate it anyway."
Mom said, "Would you like some cheese with that whine? At least she is trying. But instead of helping her, you are coming to Mummy to complaint. Go away and don't come back to me complaining about your wife again. Have some respect."
Needless to say, he never went to his mother with my complaint again.
We all make mistakes at the early days of our marriage when we are trying to adjust. The parents' responsibility is to keep out of it and let adults take care of their issues and our responsibility to each other is to be honest and communicate.
Sneaking behind one's back and gossiping like neighbouring aunty with our parents is demeaning to one's spouse and lying on their face on top of it, is death knell on the said marriage.
