I don't think the promos were linked in any sequence... it just shows the reason why lovers separated, the influence of the mother on the son and the approach of the son to the mother-wife equation.

Yes, Sonakshi fears that one day Dev will leave her if his mom says so. He promises her thousand times and gives a million assurances, but when it comes to his mom, he goes completely blind, deaf and dumb, silently follows what his mom says. So, Sona needs constant assurance to herself that Dev will always be there for her.
Dev himself fears what if Sona leaves him in future, so he too need that assurance from her and always ask her to promise him not to leave him. So, both fear separation due to circumstances. They both have to become strong and stand for each other. They try and fail miserably all thanks to Ishwari. They fight for all the petty issues. The bigger roadblocks in the form of Prenup and infertility tracks are yet to come, DevAkshi have to stand strong and support each other.
