DEV's POV
"dev stop... please na baba stop!!" sona kept giggling as I kept tickling her... we were trying hard to get up and start our day but something or the other kept pulling us back to bed... The latest was this tickling round between the two of us!!
"aacha ab bas kro or jo tum kar rahi thi who kuch nahi!!" I said in mock anger.. we stopped when my phone rang!! "hello! Kya, aacha mai aata hoon" I said as I hung up... getting up reluctantly I faced sona who was looking at me with big curious eyes "meri meeting scheduled thi aaj ke liye woh business party Thailand se aai hai!! Mana nahi kar sakta" I said giving my explanation!! She pouted, the cutest I had ever seen!! "ab aise krogi toh nahi ja paunga" I remarked and she smiled sighing I went to freshen up this was going to be a long day!!!
I was desending the stairs, when my eyes fell on the scene playing in the kitchen, sona was helping ma with the breakfast!! And much to my amazement, they both were chirping happily as if they were the best of friends in the world!! The scene warmed my heart to a comfortable fuzziness, when I heard what they were talking about "maa woh baba aap sabko bhi invite krna chahte hai saurav dada ke aashirwad mein!! Aap aaengi na???" she questioned her casually
"han beta ab toh hum sab ek bada sa parivaar hai aaungi kyu nahi" maa said looking at her and she squealed "thank you maa" maa hugged her back... smiling i realized I was home!!
We were seated at the dining table when mamaji remarked "aaj ghar mein aisa lag raha hai jaise sab pehle jaise ho gya ho... yaad hai ishwari jab tere bache chote the or hum uss chote se makan mein rehte the!!"
"han bhaiya chahe who ghar kaisa bhi tha par sath beth ke khane mein maza hi aata tha!!" she said smiling remeisesing old days...
That's when sonakshi remarked "kahan pehle jaisa mamaji... mamiji hoti toh pehle jaisa hota na" his face fell and I looked at sonakshi trying to figure out why she had to say those words now!! "mamaji ghar ghar tab banta hai jab uss mein apne hote hai... or mamiji chahe jaisi bhi hai humari apni hai... jabse Vicky gaya hai aapne ek baari bhi unhe nahi bulaya lekin mamaji iss umar mein jitni aapko unki zaroorat utni hi unhe aapki zaroorat hai!!" when nobody said anything to contradict her words she began again "mamaji aaj dhanteras hai or uske baad diwali isse better mauka nahi milega aapko mamiji ko ghar lane ka!!"
everybody was silent for sometime,when maa spoke in a quiet calm voice "bhaiya sona theek keh rahi hai!! Aapko bhabhi ko ghar le aana chahiye!! Or vaise bhi akele jiwan katna kitna mushkil hai yeh toh mai janti hun na... aap khud ko bhabhi ke hote hue yeh saza mat dijiye!!" the dining table was silent when mamaji got up and left without saying a word!! Sonakshi looked at me and with a calm face and I knew that what ever had happened was for the good!!
SONAKSHI's POV
We were seated in his Volvo, he was taking me to the hospital this was my last working day as after that I was on a week's leave what with dada's wedding round the corner!! I was staring out of the window, the similar roads sweeping beneath our tyres when I thought of asking him what I had wanted to for some time now "dev" I called
"han bolo" he replied looking at me!!
"dev who mujhe na kuch shopping karni hai, aap aaj mujhe jaldi lene aa sakte hai?" I asked him
"han lene toh aa jaunga but kitne baje or kya shopping krni hai, krne le jaunga!! Tum bas bolo kahan jana hai" he said smiling and winking at me...
I shook my head and said "lene aajana 5 baje or jewelry shopping krni hai"
his eyes widened "wow meri biwi mere sath jewellery lene jana chahti hai"
chuckling I said "apne liye nahi, who dada ka aashirwad hai na and maine bhabhi ko kuch dena hai and then diwali aa rahi hai toh up wali ma and Bengali ma ke liye bhi kuch lena hai" I explained using the nicknames we often reffered to our mothers with!!
Smiling he said " theek h... Mai aajaunga pick krne!!" I hadn't realisedthat we had already reached the hospital... getting out he called back" time text kr dena... N I love you!!" blushing I shot him a glare and laughing he drove away!!
It was 3:00 pm and I was waiting for dev to come pick me up, in a quest to finish early, I had taken back to back appointments and now I was done for the day!!! My cabin door opened and smiling he stepped in!! "hi" to say his smile was contagious was an understatement!! There was something in him that instantly warmed me and no matter how many times he would say so, it would still make my heart flutter... "hi"
"lunch pe chalein??" he asked me coming to the desk and leaning against it...
I looked at him and said "aapko kaise pata maine lunch nahi kia"
he shook his head and gave me a crooked smile" who kya hai na!! Aap meri biwi hai... and aapko dekh kar hi mai bata sakta hun aaj aapne pura din ek coffee bhi nahi pi hai" I rolled my eyes picked my bag... He took my hand fingers intertwining, and lead the way..
"ab yahan se direct jewelry lene jana hai... Ya pehle ghar jana hai??" he asked as he was reversing the car from the parking lot... We had lunch in our favourite resturant...
"ghar kyu jana hai... ek hi baari chalenge sham ko!!" I said nodding he started driving... "dev baba se baat hui?" I ased him after some time
"naah meri waise hui thi... unhe kuch puchna tha... But tab bhi keh rahe the ki unhe humse kuch baat krni hai... tumhari hui kya??" he looked at me and I just nodded!!
"aacha hum na ma ke liye bhi kuch le lenge!!"I said after some time!!
"han ma ke liye toh lena hi hai!!" he remarked nonchalantly
"aap konsi ma ki baat kr rahe ho?" I asked
"tum konsi maa ki baat kr rahi ho?" he asked eyeing me...
"aapki ma... u knw up wali ma!!" I shurugged!!
"ohh aacha!!" he said chuckling!!
It took us an hour to reach the shop he had picked for us!! It was a multistorey shop and had several security systems installed at the ornate glass doors! As soon as we stepped through the metal checkers we were greeted by a man in his early 30s with a smile on his face he extended his hand out to dev, and shaking it his eyes twinkling with warmth... "sona yeh dhruv hai, yeh store inhi ka hai" and gesturing towards me he said "dhruv yeh teri bhabhi hai"
I looked up to see him joining his hands together and smiling he said "namestey bhabhi" smiling I replied back "namestey"
"bhai aap yahan lounge mein wait kro, mai rakesh ko kehta hoon aap aaye ho, toh who phir aapko assist kr dega" saying this he left...
I looked up to dev and was about to question him when he kept a finger on my lips and said "batata hoon" it must have been all over my face because he just grabbed my face and shook it like a baby!! Smacking him I pulled myself together... and laughing he began "jab hum chote the, toh mohan baba iss shop ke owner, unki dukaan pehel laxmi nagar mein hi thi, humare ghar ke pass... toh yeh mere papa ko bhi jante the!! Jab papa ki death hui, and ma ko sab sambhalna pada toh, kai baar jab month end pe paise chahiye hote the, toh mohan baba paise dete the!! Jab 10 saal pehle inhone apni shop ko renovate kia, and yahan shift kia, toh maine inki financially help kr di thi.. and maa toh inki wife ko bhi janti hai, toh aksaar puja wagera pe maa inse milti rehti hai!! Iss liye mai tumhe yahan leke aaya hoon... " by the time dev finished with his explanation, another man in his 40s, having a darker complexion joined us and asked us what we would like to buy looking at me dev said "inhi se pucho mai sirf paise dene aaya hoon" embarrassed at his comment I nuged him with my elbow and said "Bengali kade!!"
We were stationed at a counter, where there were endless variety of bangles, I had already picked out a few but I was getting really confused as to what would look the best when I turned to look dev, who was staring at me like a lovestruck idiot!! So lost was he, that he even failed to hear me call out his name thrice... "dev" I finally said shaking him!!! "kya ho jata hai aap ko?? Mai kabse bula rahi hoon" I asked him irritated!!
"arey mai apni biwi ke sath shopping pe aaya hoon after sooo long, or iss mein meri kya galti hai ki meri side wali itni khubsoorat hai!!" he said putting an extra emphasis on so...
I sighed shaking my head and said "mr dixit.. tumi ekdum impossible!!"
"haey tumi tumi!!! You made my day miss bose!!" he smirked!! Feeling my murderous glare he said "aacha tum kuch keh rahi thi"
"han who iss mein se konsa select karun??" I asked him showing him the options!!!
"mai yeh sab nahi kar sakta tumhe jo jitna pasand hai le lo!!" he remarked and I picked two pairs... one for ma and the other for my boudi!!
"aacha dev ab hum yahan per hai hi toh mai soch rahi thi sabke liye kuch le lete hai na!! diwali hai or mai wapis bhi aai hoon sabko aacha lagega!!" I asked him, again no reply!! I looked at him and he was at a distance speaking to dhruv!! This man would surely die at my hands!! I waited for him to come back and asked him" kya baat kr rahe the"
"mrs dixit aapne mujhe bataya nahi ki aap ek typical wife hain!!" he smirked...
"mat bataiye aacha yeh toh batiye ki hum sab ke liye kuch le le because diwali bhi hai or mai ghar bhi vapis aai hoon so sabko aacha lagega!!" I repeated my words, this time hearing he replied
"haan theek hai, as long as I am spending time with you meko sab chalega!!" he replied coolly and we proceeded to pick various trinklets for various characters of the house...
By the time we reached home it was 8:00 pm and ma was siting with mamaji on the dining table!! Looking at us carry all the shopping bags maa remarked "itna saaman, kya hai yeh sab"
"kuch nahi maa teri bahu sari market ghar le aai hai... Mai rakh ke aata hoon!!" dev remarked and I turned a shade pinker!!
Smiling maa said "aaja beth humare sath... thodi der mein dinner lagate hai" I just simply nodded and did as was directed, waiting, when I would be alone with my hubby to teach him some manners...

I cant end this in 3-4 parts now!! the next part of the story has got them working together to mend some family relations that were left behind!!!
