DEV's POV

Holding her hand proudly I made my way to the one place I had dreaded, avoided in the past 6 months not just the place, I had specifically avoided mr bijoy bose of what I had done to his daughter time and again. I had promised myself and the world that I would love, honor the one they call sonakshi bose but time and again, I had failed every body specifically sona, and then there was this man who had with so much of affection and conviction, placed his daughter's hand in mine, this was why I had avoided him, so many times I had caught a glimpse of him on the roads but everytime instead of helping my father in law who loved me like his own son, I had driven past him, too scared to face him and could never make my insides agree to meet him!! But now after everythings that happened, all I want is to keep sonakshi with me safe from all prying eyes, hidden from the rest of the world where theres just me and her!! We reached the front door and I looked at my human next to me, she was stiff with agitation, and I knew she was as scared as me, I squeezed her hand in mine a gesture meant for reassurance and she smiled and I knew I could do it!!

We were seated in the living room it hadn't changed much from the past six months, the furniture was the same, the walls were the same, only the circumstances were different the last time I was here we were all laughing at my silly attempts at humor and now all five pair of eyes were staring at me, sona was scared, dadi was admring, as though she was already in awe of my stupidity of walking into the lion's den!! Saurav's was enquiring, he was the only one whos expression were somewhere between hostile and friendly, maa was as usual full of tender, and baba's face was a mask, it was hard to guess whether he would draw out his gun and shoot me or kill me with his eyes only!! I shrunk further, sona looked at me and gestured me to begin,looking at the glass of water I was holding I gulped it down in a go... and began "baba mai sona ko lene aaya hoon" as soon as the words were out, the effect was visible baba's mask slipped and before I could catch the underlying emotion he composed himself this man was genuinely a genius!! Maa started smiling.. saurav just stood there and sona's look turned reproachful!!

"toh lejao" baba said in a low clear voice in the silent room

"baba lekin who meri biwi...ek minute apne kaha le jao" I began, somewhere in the middle of my sentence I realized his words feeling utterly embarrassed I shut up and everybody started laughing including baba.

" han, dev babu le jao apni sona ko!! Arey mai kaise rokun jo khud jane ko mar rahi hai" he continued laughing and sona turned a shade pinker!! Gosh I loved her blush!! getting up I touched ma, baba and dadi's feet and looking at sona I said "mai tumhe raat ko lene aata hoon" she just quietly nodded and the whole house started giggling and hooting, I took that as my cue and left!!

I reached home and went straight to maa's room there she was sitting by her bed and talking to mamaji "arey dev" her face lit up when she saw me bit instead of questioning my whereabouts of my previous night she asked "nashta krega ya phir who bhi sonakshi ne karwa ke bheja hai??" and both the brother sister duo began laughing at their own joke... I looked at her in stark disbelieve I was not trusting my ears, was this the same lady who had a mere fortnight ago asked me whether I remembered my anniversary!!

"maa tujhe pata tha ki mai sona ke sath tha" I enquired but instead of her mamji answered my question or rather he was having too much fun pulling my leg

"arey bhai ab tu sari raat ghar nahi aaega toh sonakshi ke sath hi hoga na or koi thodi hai tere pass!!" blushing I lowered my head!!

haan toh kya kaha sona ne" ma asked placing a hand on my head.

I looked at her and said "maa woh sona ghar aa rahi hai"

suddenly her expression changed and getting up she said " kaam ki baat koi itni der se batata hai kya... "

"bahu ghar aa rahi hai?" mamaji asked happiness lacing his words

"ji mamaji woh ghar aa rahi hai mai aaj sham ko le aaunga usko" I answered his question not able to control the trechrous smile that crept up my face...

"ab khada kya hai mere raste se hat mujhe meri bahu aane ki taiyarri krni hai... kheechu aaj raat ka khana mai banaungi..." saying this she left the room.. smiling I sat down next to mamaji who was smiling at me "mai tere liye bahut khush hoon... sona iss ghar ka hissa hai or apne ghar ke hisse ko koi alag thodi na karta hai.." I just smiled it took us six months to realize that...!!

SONAKSHI's POV

It was 7:30 and I had almost packed all of my stuff... I was roaming around my room checking for final touch ups when ma entered the room and sat down on the bed "kya hua maa?" I asked her she looked at me with eyes full of love and a tear spilled down her eyes worried I sat down next to her"maa kya hua" I asked her again

"kuch nahi hua... mai aaj bahut khush hun... kyuki aaj hum humari beti ko phir se vida kar rahe hai" saying this she placed her hand on my head!!

"kya maa phir se roona dhona" I whined

smiling se said "arey tu kitni lucky hai ki tujhe ek non teary vidai mil rahi hai... tere baba toh bahut khush hai..." she said chuckling!!

"sachi ma!!" I squealed I had not exoected baba to give in so easily... we were bought out of our conversations, by a car horn, looking at me ma said

" chal tu fatafat niche chal ab toh dev bhi aa gya" getting up we both hurried downstairs... I was wearing a simple purple colored sari with my mangalsutra and sindoor I knew his eyes were searching for these and as soon as he found his markers he flashed a bright smile, making me blush a little,

"aa gai sona" baba called we both sat down on the couch and ma got him his cup of tea!!

"maa iski kya zaroorat hai mai bas sona ko lene aaya tha" he said taking the cup from maa's hands.

"le jana sona ko... but yeh bhi le lo" baba said smiling... we were all busy discussing dada's impending doom... when baba said "aacha tum dono jab free ho tab hum baith kar kuch baat kr lenge.. mujhe tum dono se kuch baat krni hai"

" han baba boliye na hum abhi free hai" dev said filling in for me!!

"abhi nahi beta abhi tum dono ghar jao!! Phir kabhi..." baba said and we were again busy in various discussions

We reached ISHWARI NIWAS, the lights were on, it was just the same as I had remembered it.. nothing had changed maybe apart from my mother in law!! Dev took my hand and lead the way, at the door of the house maa was standing along with all the three sisters and ranveer, and mamaji... She did the customary arti and we touched maa's feet, "khush raho" she said, taking my hand in hers she said"sona beta mai janti hoon, maine bahut galt kia hai, maine tumse tumhara haq cheena hai, ho sake toh beta please mujhe maaf kar dena!!"

"maa" I said wiping her tears "aap yeh sab purani baatein lekar kyu baithi hai!! Aaj hum ek nayi shuruwat krenge... Sab purani baatein bhul jaeyi..." hearing my words she pulled me into a warm hug and dev cleared his throat

"mai bhi yahin hoon" laughing ma pulled him in the hug as well!!

"arey bahi waah bhai ishwari aaj toh halwa banane ka mauka hai haan bhai" mamji commented and we moved towards him and touched his feet blessing us he said" mai aaj bahut khush hoon sona beta tera iss gahr mein phir se swagat hai"

I smiled and turned around to face the others!! Nikki and ria pulled me in bear sized hugs screaming and squealing "bhabhi" they genuinely had missed me, this bought tears in my eyes they were truly my sisters and after elina... neha too pulled me in a hug and said"welcome back bhabhi"

" thank you neha" I said slowly!! Ranveer just shook hands with me and gave me a warm smile...

"arey ab bas karo!! Usse andar toh aane do" maa called and we proceeded towards the dining table!! That night, I was truly happy as I dinned in with my family!! The feeling of being accepted was not just visible on my face but dev too glowed with happiness!!
