SONAKSHI's POV

I checked the clock and it was almost 6:30 pm, so I decided it was high time that I should wind up my work... we were expecting some guests at our place... last month through some old relatives in Kolkata baba and ma had zeroed some suitable matches for dada, so one of those prospective families were about to pay us a visit"tada todi kar sona" I muttered and within the next 10 minutes I was walking out of the glass doors of the hospital and my gaze automatically shifted to the VIP section of the parking lot only to find the one I was looking for... I walked towards him... dev was leaning against the door frame holding two cups of coffee.. As soon as his gaze fell on me he shifted to a standing position and held out a cup for me... I took the hot steaming coffee,the smell appetizing, I smiled at him while taking a sip from the cup..

"wow a smiling dr bose kya baat hai?" he added jokingly

" woh actually aaj maine lunch nahi kia tha n jab maine time dekha toh I was like I wanna have a cup of coffee and..." I said taking a sip of the steaming coffee.

We sat in the car when he began "hmmn he muttered " aaj maine bhi lunch nahi kia... bht busy day tha... mera sar bhi bahut dukh raha hai can open the glove compartment theres a disprin there.."

"kya dev aap aise kaise karte ho aap apna dhyan kyu nahi rakhte" I said worried... dev never thought about himself.. I had never seen someone as selfless as him.. I wanted to be angry and scold him for being so careless with himself but I quietly opened the glove compartment, only to find a red velvet box lying there... Confused I picked it up it was small enough to hold a ring, I looked at him questioningly and he just smilied... smiling he began" actually yeh mai tumhe anniversary par dena chahta tha lekin yeh ready nahi hui thi soo... ab lelo..."

When I kept staring at him he said.." arey ab mujhe aise mat dekho kholo usse.." his voice broke my chain of thoughts and I flipped the box open it was a diamond ring... the band was a white gold and diamonds and in the middle rising, was a huge solitaire. The ring was breathtakingly gorgeous I was so lost in the beauty of it that I did not notice he had began speaking again "pehno isse"

"nahi" I abruptly said and looking at him I realized I was a little too blunt so I re phrased" aap pehnaoge"

he laughed and said "aacha theek hai" the rest of the ride I kept admiring the ring and he kept admiring me...

We stopped when we reached the deserted street leading to my house... He got down the car and I followed his lead... " so you seriously want me to put this thing on your finger..."

I looked at him, knowing this was the most stupid question he could ever ask me, so I smacked him in the arm, and handed him the box he took it and flipped it open revealing the content... He took it in his hands and took mine in his and tried to put it in... When I pulled my hand out of his hand he looked as if he was given the world's most difficult math problem... " what he asked

"Mr. dixit aap na sabse bade gadhe hai... Koi apni biwi ko aise ring pehnata hai kya" he looked stunned

" toh kaise pehnate hai??" irritated I said "mujhe nahi pata... or mujhe nahi chaiheye yeh... Khud pehen lena" as I stomped my foot, and was about to leave, I heard him chuckle behind me and as I flipped around, I saw him go down on his knee, as he held out his hand I smiled taking it, and he silently slipped the ring on the third finger... It would be fair to say he was glowing in that moment!!

DEV's POV

I checked the date again, yes it is dussera!! I was beyond happy... sona had been on a week's leave from the hospital, which meant I had not seen her from the last seven days... in my excitement I almost forgot to touch ma's feet, and when I did touch her feet, I didn't wait for an answering khush reh, I just dashed out of my abode like I didn't belong there... time too was playing games with me... Twice I felt the clock stop... and my heart sped... I shook my head and smiled dr bose was seriously messing with my head... there were days like these it was difficult to wrap my head around the fact that she was my wife!!! But then again when those moments would fade away I would be eternally be grateful for the same fact!!! Finally the clock struck 6 and that was my cue... I wind up my work and in the next five minutes, and in record speed made it to my car and started the driving I stopped in front of the floral shop and picked white lillies and roses for my lady... at sharp 6:25 I was standing in the parking lot of JLS hospital... I waited patiently or at least I tried to... after what seemes like an eternity, there she was walking out of the glass doors.. her gaze flickerd to the spot where I stood and my heart melted... I released a gush of air, I forgot I was holding as she started moving towards me... A brilliant smile lit up her face as she pulled me in a hug and I returned the same... We stood there wrapped in each other and honestly I wanted to stay like that for ever " happy bijay doshomi" she mumbled against my chest and I kissed her forehead and said " same to u love" she pulled away and I gave her the flowers, and I noticed she seemed oddly chirpy... " tum aaj bahut khush lag rahi ho what did I miss??" I asked pulling the seat belt

"han aaj mai bahut khush hoon... kyuki dada ka rishta the hogya hai... Hes gonna get married" it took me a minute to process this info...

" really that's great kab hua yeh sab" I was truly curious about this recent development in my life

"2 din pehle saptomi wale din unhone iss rishtey ke liye han bol dia toh bas shaadi the hogai" she chirpily added

I was still processing this when I realised I had missed out on an important detail, so I further enquired..." So kon hai who jo mere chote se khargosh ke bade se bhai se shaadi kar rahi hai??"

she narrowed her eyes and looked at me before returning back to her jolly self... "Nupur.. you know we have known them for a really long time now... they are our neighbors in Kolkata, matlab jo meri nani ka ghar h na kolkata mein wahan pe..."

"so they traveled all the way from there to delhi to meet you people" I asked the astonishment seeping into my voice

" naah nupur works here..." we sat in silence for the rest of he ride but I could sense the oddly content aura of hers, so when I pulled into the deserted street leading to her house... she looked and me and said "aaj mai itni khush hoon that I can dance my heart out..."

Thts it... I motioned her to get out and as soon as we were out I pulled my phone and played her favorite song and taking her hand I pulled her close to me and she gasped" yahan par"

" han apni biwi ke sath hi toh dance kar raha hoon, agar yeh zalim zamana jalta hai toh jalne do" I winked and her cheeks turned a brillinat shade of pink... we danced and laughed together and when the song came to a close I embraced her and she whispered " I love you dev" against my chest... This was my stolen paradise!!!
