Bdw - call me Niva plz

Yes Niva, my reply was with regard to the statement..but yes he needs to be calm and treat Sona with more respect and importance...infact i was one among many who was annoyed with Dev and felt sorry for Sona after the last epi...but after the intial frustration, i realized that none cld be blamed..Dev is still tied to the strings of his past and Sona is trying to do all at once.she cannot prove his mom wrong or force him to go against his mom and family so soon..she needs to do it gradually...both need to be calm and try to sort out the issues together without arguing..patience is the need of the hour and sadly thats what is missing in our leads and thats exactly what is missing in the fans too 😆..we react way too quickly..i thnk we shld just wait and watch ..its just few days into marriage and both r struggling..i am sure gradually Dev wld learn to tke a stand for Sona ..he better learn or else we fans arnt gonna spare him😛

I personally think when Dev made that statement it was not about his character no it was simply about his responsibilities and obligations towards family life .
its always true in most cases it takes men a little bit longer to adjust their ways and I do believe in time as DevAKshi's marriage grows and matures so will the understanding in both happen both would adjust accordingly to each other without any pressure , for now the marriage is very young so lots of misunderstandings and little tiffs will happen which I'm enjoying

In time I am Sure they will show Dev maturing, and supporting Sona too, I am sure. But his progress should be incident by incident, they should show us his thought process. The thing is, there are many people who learn to do the right thing, but time taken is of importance, if you take too long, allow the wounds of others to infest for long, you would still end up scarring that person permanently. I think that is where Dev is missing out. They are showing him jump from one incident to another without properly thinking why things happened the way they did, Vicky's incident included. That is why Vicky's villainy has now double folded - he is feeling emboldened because in his mind he has won over Sonakshi, and Dev's actions in his favor and reticence in Sonakshi's disfavor has resulted in this emboldening.

All in all the statement "I am difficult person to be with" should not be separated from his conditions. Because for Sona, Dev means all of it, his personality and his conditions - she has to face both, so Dev must try to work on both to make his own proposition better for Sona - A girl he has promised to take care of and love. I can't help you because I can't control my situation cannot be a recourse. And I don't think anybody is wanting him to be at cross with the whole family - people are wanting that he should at least start realizing what Sona is going through. That would be a start - here not only is he overlooking Sona's misery, he is actually adding to it. 🥱🥱🥱🥱

Dev can't say that he is a difficult man to live with. He is actually a very simple man with simple pleasure. His family is difficult and his situation is difficult.
But respecting his wife, standing by his words and promises, making sure no one in his family undermines his wife nor demeans his relationship and to show his family that his wife is also his family, not just a convenient extension to his real family, is not about being a difficult person or having a difficult family situation, it's about giving respect to a relationship that he has made commitment to. That is NOT negotiable or can be excused under any ground...

Exactly, and the whole disclaimer statement should be qualified showing that he at least in his mind wants to turn his "difficult to live with" into "not so difficult to live with". If you know that you are difficult to live with either because of your personality or because of your situations, then you must take actions to change that. You can't just make that statement and think you have done your duty. But then again, as I have mentioned in another post of mine, it's not Dev who is using this statement to justify his actions in the show, its many fans who are using this statement to justify whatever Dev is doing. Which actually just ends up meaning that Dev is definitely doing something wrong, that is why his behavior is soliciting justification.😆😆😆😆😆 (mai likhte likhte Gol-Mol ho gayee)

Hey Niva ...
I don't think Dev mentioned that as a way of warning her either..

I cant speak for others but there is a period of adjustment between 2 people after they get married and live together. Before you get the awesome smelling gorgeous guy who comes looking fabulous for a date or visiting your parents. After marriage you see a lot more.

Snoring , Messiness, weird bathroom habits and soon temper tantrums, impatience, and eventually arguments. There's a lot of learning to do. What irritates each other and pleases each other. The time and place for everything.

For both to learn !

Sona is learning that although Dev is honest and sincere and means well, he gives way to his mother without much thought . And his mother's happiness means a LOT to him. more than anything. She cant change that. Ishwari has set this up so well, to change this would make her the enemy.

But Dev must also understand that Sonakshi is straight forward and truthful. She doesn't do kitchen politics. Rules are rules, people get what they deserve. She doesn't understand Dev's debt for life. If he wanted her understand why Mamaji and Mamiji are not to be questioned, he should explain it to her. She is made to tip-toe around the house and not knowing what to avoid! That's not the way to help your partner.

Dev and Sonakshi are not communicating in a way that helps. Dev just leaves her and goes off to work, assuming that she is fine. The first person who asked Sona how is it so far for her was Nikki yesterday.

I dont think living with Dev is difficult. It's the people around Dev who are difficult, and he didn't warn her about them! He won't hear about his mother's taunts (even Sona wouldn't like it if Dev complained about Baba's jibes) because he thinks his mother is incapable of such nastiness.

But she can talk about Mamiji's taunts. Vicky's rude behaviour. Sonakshi must be feeling so lonely despite having Dev as a husband. They talked more when they were dating.

He should ask her, " How are.you coping? Are you missing home? I'm here for you, ok? " Sona is so lost in this strange new maze and has no one as a guide. She is falling and getting up again and again, and no one is bothered to see if she's alright.

Hi Niva,

Another wonderful post from you today.👏

For me I interpreted that dialogue of his not as a warning or even an explanation. He was trying to make her understand that what he felt for her was as real as it comes. It is not something silly that he can get over with and he wanted to make sure that she was serious about him. This was the first time he fell in love with someone and he knew it was the same for her. But after their fight she could easily come back to her home leaving him behind without a word. This shook him up and he wanted her to make a sincere attempt to make him feel secure. That has been used and interpreted differently in various cases. I am a hopeless romantic and would love to stick to mine😆

But if it was actually meant as a warning, then it doesn't give him any right or upper hand to say I told you so. He is no James Bond and this is not a License to kill.😆

Ha ha, Thanks a lot.
Yes you are right if the statement just meant what you are suggesting😆😆. And I would happily accept that view point. Problem is that interpretation na!!!!! har koi apni marzi se uska use kar raha hai😆. It does look like a lisense then😆...yaar believe me, I am a sucker for all kinds of romance, to the point that I watch romantic scenes of any couple on youtube if they r cut(can't tolerate ajeebo gareeb drama😆😆),isliye to, current phase of show is causing me great grievance🥱🥱

Spot on. These questions that you mentioned in the last para - Dev asking right questions - that is what I am talking about. If he asks these questions, then even if they don't find answers right away, they would still be growing together, sona's trust in him will increase, their bond would solidify and they would learn to talk about sticky issues and then may be a day will come when they will be able to talk of Ish as their mother and not his mother, family problems as their problems and not his or her problems. Most importantly Sona will feel that there is someone in the house who cares for her, tries to understand her and is there for her- more than candle light romance, that surety in heart would be such a sweet treat to have😳😳
