Very well written and to the points precisely.
Iswari's obsession with Dev is way too extreme for me to brush it off lightly and its pissing me to the extent that I am using so many vulgarities which I rarely use nowadays, in my imagination. . I was just thinking that this woman or the master as you called it will always make him feel bad at any pleasures he has with Sona. Its like as if she wants him to be unhappy all the time.
She will keep reminding him of his responsibilities towards her, his sisters and at every opportunity she gets she will make him feel guilty if he forgets it for a moment.

Its like as if Dev owes her a living!

Dev who idolizes his mother blindly will never be able to leave from this emotional hold she has on him. We know that.

I am even keenly observing Iswari's body language ...how she is walking all rigid , self conscious of her surroundings, her eyes so cold...darting here and there . Just pure evil written all over her!

I wish Dev would give her a befitting reply to his decision on Vicky being appointed as a trainee but i don think that will happen. If he does, we know how Iswari will react...shock and drama will make Dev look very bad. And Dev knows what his pill popping mum is capable of...another suicidal attempt and to avoid this again, he might just accede to her request.

You know what...I really would like Dev to leave his entire wealth , assets t - stock and barrel to this ungrateful family who only sees him as a money making machine and leave the the hell hole with the clothings he is wearing with Sona and bunk in with the boses family to start fresh all over again . ! And change his name to Dev Bose!

Seriously - no sex for Devakshi and keeping them away - Gosh - get a life woman!

Are any of you reminded of one of those old Anil Kapoor's movies where he dotes on his mother, whom he believes adores him but he being her step son, she only uses him for the property?

I know Ish faced hard times to bring up Dev and Dev made it big not too far in the future but, could it be that she used Dev who maybe her step son or whatever (right now only Khatri knows) as a stepping stone for a better future since she belonged to those category of people who believes only a guy can make it in life and not girl children?

You make some very valid points Saumiee...

The show is depicting this and I think the mother-son symbiotic relationship will hit an all-time low in coming weeks. Worse than it was during the break up track. Because then Dev had a lover, now he has a lawfully wedded wife.

Of course its over the top. This is television. We expect some drama.

Perfect post

Riya too started in Dev's company as a trainee at time Ishwari was not bothered now because Sona advices Dev to make Vicky a trainee Ishwari has a problem she claims Vicky and the three sisters has full rights to the business which means Neha can surely take her share and live in comfort too but that's entirely not true as Ishwari just does not want Sona getting involved with making decisions helping Dev understand situations better this would only mean Ishwari will lose her hold on the breadwinner the person responsible for her very own comfort.
Dev is slowly evolving and soon he will see exactly what his mother is trying to do

In the beginning of the show, in an interview supriya hi had said
She starts doing wrong things but she is not a bad person.
She realizes her mistakes; an introspection from time to time
She is thinking & doing wrong things.
But , here she is not shown to a normal person from around 90 th episode itself.
Now it has reached full blown psychosis.
Trust me: as a doctor I can say this.

She need medical help - ASAP
This is no more a simple insecurity/ obsession
Worst part is Dev has to accept the fact that his mother is a mental case.
Sona should have understood this by now.
Whatever they show we won't be able to sympathize with iswari-
She has crossed all the limits.
This is the worst mother.
Sorry for my rant

Remember what Sona told Ishwari days after their break up when she came to inquire about Dev condition. Each and every word of hers was so true. Its just that Ishwari didn't want to believe what she said.

True. . And that was the only time we saw Sonakshi see through Ishwari's facade of being an ideal mother. . She had directly questioned her whether she really wanted to see Dev happy or not. Her game of Dev kiska zyada hai? Sona was bang on there. . hopefully Sona helps Dev sort out and grow out of this toxicity.

Brilliant post. 👏
More than mother-son relationship, i feel its a investor and debtor's relationship. As Nandini mentioned in her post that Dev is more like a debtor to ishwari rather than her son. She is least bothered about Dev's individuality and happiness; moreover she wants his happiness to be related only to his family and mother. She will never let him come out of the "sacrifice" guilt card. Yes she has prepared him to take care of their family, yes she has given him more opportunities to him, but isn't he doing everything for them. Sometimes i feel she wants to hide her own guilt by emotionally manipulating dev, so that no one can point any finger on her biased love. Such kind of relationships suffocate people after a point of time no matter whether it is a mother-son or a husband -wife relation.

Ps- Sorry for being sadist, but i really want Dev's company to suffer loss because of vicky, then only Ishwari will realise. Really pissed off.

What a brilliant and Judgmental post.
Obedient son - Widow Mother relationship become master- slave.
If a person become rich by his hard work and his mother consistent reminder of poverty, then mother is treating his son as a ATM machine.
How many of you have seen that kind of poverty and reaches to the stage where Dev is?

Ishwari is not only a mother of the house but also father of the house as well. She has to play double role in her life. She has become decisive after her husband death thats why she interfere so much in Dev's life. Even I have seen in real life that a son is not be able to speak in front his father and do arrange marriage leaving his girlfriend. This is quite normal in India.

And all are saying that she treat Dev like ATM. Please...Dev is most comfortable in the laps of his mother until he met Sonakhsi. Dev used to share everything with his mother until he has grown up to take decision as a head of the family. Ishwari did partiality to her other children not only because Dev is the most obedient son or she had high expectation from Dev but also because she lost her husband and suddenly all her emotion shifted to her only son (who is eldest).

When Doctor said to us that my father is no more, I saw my mother all attention/emotion suddenly shift to me just like she dont want to lose another precious thing in her life. In fact whenever she heard news that a son died in an accident, she feels much pain and then calls me and ask me to be careful.

Ishwari's behaviour has been surprising us off late. This lady does not treat Dev as an individual identity at all, he is just her son. .His identification is limited to that.. earlier she used to be vocal about her opinions and left it on Dev to follow those advices or not, but suddenly she has turned so assertive and orders Dev rather than talking to him about his decisions.
But the situations then and now are different, Sonakshi's presence making all the difference. Earlier Dev never thought about the advises given by Ishwari from a different perspective so by default, he may have unquestionably done whatever Ishwari wanted him to. Ever since a girl who understands the complexity of emotions and situations better than him came to his life, the perspective of vision widened.
Sonakshi's advice sometimes resonated with Ishwari sometimes it did not. In the initial days, she did not notice. .as time progressed she brushed off the topic.
But, now they are married and Ishwari cannot digest the fact that her slave makes a decision on his own.Yes, I am using the word slave here because Ishwari's affection is what a master has,for maybe, his most important worker, nothing more. She no more keeps his emotions or sentiments in mind, does not consider his individual needs, heck she does not even think Dev owns his own business.
She owns every right to change his decisions because she thinks Dixits have reached this stage because Dev worked hard for her. .for her family.
She cannot see Dev having a brain of his own, having a heart of his own. He cannot take any decision for himself.

Every dialogue of Dev makes sense now,
"I need you for myself"
"Tum sirf meri ho"
"Mai tumhe kisi se share nahi karna chahta"

Because whatever Dev has done, it is for his family. He was irritated when even after marriage, he has to share Sonakshi with the family so much so, that Sona couldn't spend time with him. He can see Sonakshi being consumed in the Dixit family.
Imagine he has to call his wife out for a date in the car for spending some time with her.

Dev and Ishwari share such a toxic relationship. I read a post on the forum a few days back on how this relationship is purely based on obligations. Ishwari the master controller and Dev being the slave, who keeps obliging his master for her favours.
I feel so sorry for him, he cant have a life of his own Whenever he tries to have one, he is made to feel guilty.

And I am sure Dev would never realise how sabotaged he is in his own house, how he is being treated as a money-making machine only because He has been brought up in a situation where he has seen his mother struggle and after his father's death, all the responsibility comes on his fragile shoulders. Dev never acknowledges that his childhood was also lost albeit he knows.
And for Ishwari, Dev is her favorite, I believe not because of her love for him, but because he helped her sail through the tough times. Because he ensures her family is protected.
With Sonakshi's arrival, she can not see him diverting his attention to someone who is not a part of her family. She has not accepted Sonakshi as her family, bahu yes, Dev's wife yes, but not his family, not her family.
It is so heartbreaking to see Dev being caged in this shade of love, where he is indefinitely trapped between obligations, responsibility and his mother's obsession.
Mind you, Ishwari's obsession is not with Dev the son but Dev the provider.
This is why she never hesitates to keep the newly wedded couple away, disregarding his emotions. . Or directly questioning him about his wife's influence but she is careful not to let go of Dev the provider by giving him that object of affection (Sona) without whom Dev cannot live.
Ishwari doesn't give a damn about Vicky, it is her own control she is worried of. If Dev doesn't follow her, Bhaiya-Bhabhi sochenge mera beta mere haath se nikal gaya?
It is her way to check if Dev still blindly follows her when it comes to family.
This is why she wasn't bothered about how Rhea was a trainee and started from scratch but is too worried about the most undeserving person in Dev's office, vicky because it is a matter of her respect, her control. Even of Dev's business suffers from losses, be it. . because Ideally Dev should give up every thing, every molecule of oxygen for his family if needed.

I hope Dev understands that he is stuck in a very toxic relationship with his mother where addressing the issue with affection can only reinforce Ishwari's behaviour.

Sonakshi will have a big role to play. And Neha's entry can be used in a transforming way to open everyone's eyes about Ishwari's hypocrisy.

P.S I hope Dev Sonakshi just move out of this house together, the only time they both smile these days, is when they are together❤️

I agree with your post, as long as Ishwari has the authority power over Dev she does not care whether her decision is right or wrong. I think Radha Rani knows this so she used it for her convenience, Sonakshi should do the opposite of it and work gets easier.
But in reality moving out of the house is not always an option one is allowed.

Dev loves his mom so much that moving out would never happen. Unless Ishwari herself does the honour which is completely unlikely.
