I personally feel that CVS have kept the wedding very real. They have promised that wedding will have a real type feelings and thanks to them ,they have shown every rituals beautifully. There maybe a few more devakshi scene but I personally feel in real wedding also, most of times, dulha-dulhan were busy doing rasam or sitting in mandap but family members were busy on relatives and guests. Really loved the mala exchange or sindur wala scene. I think maybe in Bengali tradition, women usually don't wear mangalsutra that's why they have edited this part. And the lehnga issue superbly explain by asha and well handled by mama. Yes, dadi bua were really annoyed and that during fish scene, but as Brahman personally, there is a problem of non-veg issue. Usually, they also try to not eat with non- veg people but thanks God ,my family doesn't care about that. Yes, there is drama scene but it still sometimes happen in some state of India, where cross cultural wedding have these problems. Unlike other shows, they don't show so much huge drama and didn't try to stop the marriage. The lehnga or tradition or fish scene easily and well handled within the family members and guest or relatives doesn't came to know about that.
Yes, we didn't like that drama in wedding but that's the harsh reality of cross cultural marriage, yes, not everywhere but still in some state, these problems r there and especially those old people of house who still believe in old tradition.
