A few hours ago in one of the post I had written that I am eagerly waiting for this episode like a child . Now the question is did I like the wedding ? Yes , I did . Did it meet my expectation or went above it...Honestly ...only bits and pieces of it.
Good Part -
For once I liked their attire and the venue.
I liked the shots when Dev and family came to venue.
Liked the look on Dev's face seeing Sona.
Love the way he bowed down for her...and liked the way he tricked her to look down ..that was the best DevAkshi scene for me today.
For the first time witnessing a Bengali wedding, enjoyed every aspect of it .
Today episode set was designed so beautifully.
Emotions of girls family was shown so very beautifully.
Somethings that didnt go well and for which I always had a problem is the editing . I feel their editing team lacks perfection and is very careless. I doubt after they do the job if they ever do something called as peer review. I felt a lot of scenes were rush thru..as in they could have taken a few close up shots of Dev and Sona's expressions during the wedding . After the bidhayi scene I thought there would be some conversation in the car ..Dev trying to console her ...
They are not waiting for Dev and Sona scene to complete before that they jump into the typical GKB ,Ishu scenes...
I dont see Dev and Sona getting enough screen presence as couple. Its like Sona and Dev have been given a scene because the CV knows that viewers are waiting for them...just for the sake of it they show them...and the rest ... is about Ishwari , GKB, now a new addition Bua !!
Regarding cultural difference - I really dont know why they had to bring it up. Because it was agreed by Ishwari and family that they will have it according to Bengali culture why during the wedding day making such a fuss...
Regarding the fish scene at home...I dont think any event management team will make such a mistake...its like questioning their professionalism. Wouldnt Sona's family have told abt the intercast marriage. During one of the scenes it is said that veg food is prepared by Brahmins...and Infact Saurab and Elina said they were standing next to those so that nothing mixes up... wouldn't it be clearly mentioned to the event management team that the guys family is a Brahmin . ?? So how can such mix up happen... I cant buy this logic...
Graha Pravesh scene , the rise in the kalash has to fall in front of it and not to the side...anyways I can just ignore that ...but there are those minute details that they could have worked on with perfection...Isnt arthi done using camphor?? I guess one of the earlier scene Bua told arthi is done using karpoor ( camphor ) and not using diya...this time they used Diya and Bua didnt say anything ...
That scene GKB hugging Sona could have been avoided...
There was too much of negative scenes...There can be difference of opinion but to openly mock someone elses culture and that too during a wedding ...I dont think ppl of our country are so heartless...
What I felt today is that our show is no more the same...Dev and Sona are loosing their screen space and is being occupied by the others. CV team is bringing in so much of negative scenes ...can we blame them ?? No because that is what the majority wants I feel. One look at the TRP might make us agree to that ...so what happens to ppl like us who started watching this show thinking that we are going to get a matured love story with a lot of goodness?? ...What happens to our pride, when we appreciated our CV team to be different from others, who had the talent to end every episode with a good note and surprise us ???
Well answer is I dont know...probably they are lost in the race to survive in this commercial world . I keep thinking so when it comes to money even something as pure as art also has to bend to survive and our show is a good example for the same...
PS : To all the actors of this serial , if I am still watching this show is because of you guys...especially Erica and Shaheer. If not for them I would have left the show some time back. ..too much negativity just for the sake of it and too much disconnect betwn the scenes.
