I see Dev as a man who is still struggling... When he was young he struggled to look after his family keeping his happiness & needs aside. He also struggled to stay away from Sona for his mother's sake & now he's still struggling... It's written in his destiny that he has to struggle for everything. But on the bright side he gets everything in the end after the long long battle. Hoping that, after all the struggles that he's yet to overcome, he will still have Sona in his life, beside him. The struggle that he is facing today is actually getting him ready to face the tomorrow with lots of strength. And he needs that strength.
Dev's face conveyed disbelief & wariness when he heard Bijoy & Ishwari's conversation. He couldn't believe that his mother could do something like this. Could she stoop this low? There was fear written on his face that what if things were not going to happen the way Sona & he wanted. His expressions were screaming only one question at his mother...why, why, why??? He was not angry but he was disappointed that his mother was falling in front of his eyes. Still unsure about the whole conversation that he'd overheard, he walks towards her & takes those documents to reassure if it's really true. That walk was brilliant! He couldn't even look into his mother eyes. But when he saw that it was the prenup agreement he couldn't resist but look into her eyes & fight back & say, "Sonakshi aur mere rishtey ko kisi saharey ki zaroorat nahi hai. Is gahtiya saharey ki tho bilkul nahi. Humara risthta koi business deal nahi hai ma." Slow claps for this man. I was so glad that Dev said this to Ishwari when Bijoy was there.
He had to reassure Bijoy that he loves his daughter so very much & the prenup papers were of no value to him & he would've never imagined signing them in the first place. His love for his daughter was pure, honest & unconditional & he could never put a value to that love. The love that he has for Sona was priceless. He has caused Sona & her family immense pain & shame & he's apologized for it & here he was asking Bijoy to forgive him again. He also didn't want Sona to know about the prenup agreement because he was aware that she disliked the concept of prenup. And more importantly, he didn't want to hurt her again. But I so wished that he'd had told her about it when her met her.
Now that Ishwari's faade was fully blown, she begins to turn back & walk away. But Dev stops her & tells her that it was her hard effort that brought Sona back into his life & now she was ruining it for them. "Kyu kiya tune aisa?" He questions her. Ishwari tells him that it was for him, his family & his company that she had to do something like this. She had to safeguard the wealth that he'd made with his sweat & blood. Obviously she couldn't directly tell him on his face that his marriage with Sona may or may not be successful & if by chance it wasn't going to work, then there is no guarantee that Sona won't walk away with half of his hard earned money which was rightfully for her & her daughters. She loves her son so much yet she still doesn't understand him at all. Even if she'd asked him for his life he would've given that to her... What was so great about his property then? She should've clearly asked him to split the money into four shares & he would've gladly done that.
Ishwari reassures him that she wants to see him & Sona together always & he immediately cuts her off by telling that she should forget about the prenup agreement. Yeh woh zeher hai jiksa koi kaat nahi hai... And he makes her understand that Sona would never ask for something like this... He loves her & he knows her very well. Sona had no interest in his money whatsoever. But Ishwari was not convinced. She suddenly remembered that she has three daughters & she had to look out for them by being this selfish, cunning & deceiving woman. She ultimately got Dev to sign the documents. "Mere charo bacho ko sab kuch barabar milega. Chahe pyar ho ya adikar..." She cheated & betrayed her own son. But one day Dev will get to know of this betrayal & that day everything would be the end for her. She wasn't going to be his God after that. Even now she thinks she is his & everyone's god but she will realize that the one above her has something else in store for her. Can't wait to see that day now.
Dev just got over the most painful phase of almost losing Sona & he couldn't think of going down the same path again. After speaking to Bijoy he still couldn't help but feel restless, that something may happen again & he had to assure that Sona was still in his life. So he goes to meet her. The moment he sees her he hugs her, rather crushes her in his arms. There was nothing that was going to come in between them now. There wasn't an inch of space left between them. He hugged her tightly. She lovingly asked him to leave her. He said, "Kabhi nahi...Shut up Ms. Bose. Chup chap muhje hug karo." And she quietly agreed & hugged him. He just wanted to hold her & never let go. He couldn't control his restlessness & he was so fidgety. He was scared that she would go far away from him. He felt that he was chasing after something that was so fascinating. And he couldn't reach it. He says, "Promise me, promise me ki tum yahan kabhi nahi chodogi. Tum muhjse door kanhi nahi jaogae. Tum mere liye saari duniya se ladogae lekin muhje kabhi nahi chodogae." She promises him but in return tells him that he always has to be with her & support her as well. Ahhh... when they make such promises to each other, I can't help but sigh. Because this time I hope they truly stand to their promises.
Precap: Looks like Dev will get to know about Sona's infertility problem. And he will hide it from her. In fact, her family may also hide it from her if they get to know about it...that is if Dev lets the doctor tell the truth to Bijoy & family ... Here comes another hurdle!
