We can explain Ishwari's insecurities and her right to accept and reject Sonakshi but how do we explain her double standards. Same mother accepted Ranveer as a match for Neha who was her teacher, from a lowermiddle class family vut when it was about Sibakshi she said she came to workhere as nutritionist and she shld have stayed in her limits. She had only told Neha when Dev cancelled her engagement with Natasha if she has given rights to Neha to take decision for her life how can she take away the same from Dev and when Dev took decision for his life and chose Sonakshi for himself she disregarded his choice and called there love as 2mins noodle and seasonal drain.

She lied to Dev whenever he asked her whether or not she approves of Sonakshi. She said i m with you in every decision of urs, i am happy if u are happy.

Ishwari's love and emotions for Dev cannot be questioned, but unintentionally has always been glorified as Dev's God, by her brother and her daughters, and hence whatever she did for him could never be wrong. To be worshipped as God, is not the thing here, so much as she believing herself to be God to Dev.

I want to say, she is being a mother the only way she knows, but I am wrong, cos she is not the same with her daughters, her attitude to them was just that of a mother, she did not stake claim on them as their God. They knew of her obsession of Dev, and were always vary of the fact that if someone got close to him, she would show her claws.

Even before Sonakshi came into the picture, she had problems of sharing Dev with anybody. Remember the times when GKB used to bring proposals for Dev, she always made up excuses that he was not ready for marriage.

When Natasha's father asked for Dev's hand in marriage for his daughter, she felt honoured and Dev too asked her permission, so she felt elevated.

Her problem with Sonakshi was that she was around and she did not see their love blooming, so every bit of nuance or info she got about Sonakshi, she built it up against her. Her statements how Dev liked food cooked by her, or only she knew how to look after him, did not permit her to look beyond, and wherein Sonakshi had slipped into her place. So when she started feeling insecure knowing Sona loved her Dev, she just wanted to eliminate her totally. Her faith in her son that he would never go against her come what may, blinded her to manipulate her machinations. Inspite of what she did, her Dev never found fault in her, and it motivated her to go on to the point of taking those sleeping pills, removing all traces of Sona so that Dev even by mistake did not think of her, etc. All this to get Dev to toe in line with her wishes.

Her love for Dev is to a height of madness, where all were scared of telling her the truth, and here I mean, even her brother and Neha, who knew exactly what she was doing.

Her kindness to find a groom for Sonakshi, did not stem from doing a good deed to her cos Sonakshi was good, but from the POV that she would be inaccessible to Dev. Mind you, she did not look out for a bride for him.

When she saw Dev falling apart, and her brother blaming her for his state, she knew she had to redeem herself to Dev, so that he starts adoring her as before. She wants that Dev back. Her going behind Sonakshi and her family is only because she thinks her Dev cannot be denied anything. What he wants he should get, and if he cannot get it, she will make all efforts and get it for him.

I suspect her genuinity about her understanding Dev and Sonakshi love for each other and hence helping them come together, I just feel she wants her position with Dev back and is giving him what he wants, similar to that of a toy. In doing that, she thinks he will again believe that only his wonderful mom knows him and his happiness.

Neha's case is different. She is a problem child for Iswari.Her engagement was cancelled once.Ranveer looked matured and balanced who can tame Neha. Iswari a wailed the opportunity.

I don't know about the customs in India but what I do know a mother is and will always be a mother no matter the country .

As a son I would follow my mother's every word now I also know it would be wrong but at the end of the day my mother's happiness means everything to me .

Yes Absolutely. Even if a mother is wrong still the son would never like to hurt her. Similarly mother will always strive hard to see the happy face of her son.
