Tum saath ho ya na ho, kya fark hai; Bedard thi zingagi, bedard hai. Agar tum saath ho; agar tum saath ho.

(Whether you're there with me or not, what is the difference? Life was merciless & life is merciless. If you're with me; if you're with me.)

Anyone still over this beautiful episode? I'm not. It was a perfect & smooth episode. There was this void in me after I watched the episode. That feeling of emptiness wouldn't go away & I think this void will remain till Dev & Sona get back together.

Was it only Dev's Deewangi that we witnessed yesterday? Wasn't it about Sona's love, care & passion for Dev?? Wasn't it her Deewangi as well??

What was so Deewangi about this episode? The promos showed us a different perspective altogether. We expected anger, chaos, arguments, Dev embarrassing himself & what not...

But it was the Deewangi in him that made him let go of Sonakshi. Finally he was calling quits. There was no way he could control the situation that he was in. He had to come to terms with the truth that was staring at him. Sona was moving on. The woman he loved was going away from him. The very thought was killing him inside. Nothing could be done now. He had the engagement invite in his hand. He felt her name & he could feel her. Sona invited him. She was so strong unlike him. He was a weak man who only made promises but never fulfilled any. This would always stab him for the rest of his life. And now she wanted him to see her moving on. And with whatever strength/himmat that was left in him, he would go & see her one last time. It was time to say goodbye for good to the woman he loved the most. This is Dev's Deewangi.

I liked how Mamaji played the reverse psychology trick on Dev. It worked on him. He had already made up his mind to go but he wasn't sure until Mamaji spoke to him. Mamaji told him that it would be best not to go & if he did go then he would just end up hurting himself all the more. To witness everything happening in front of his eyes would be unbearable. But at the same time he had to see the truth taking place in front of him. That would give him a reality check.

"Mein Dev Dixit hoon, koi Devdas nahi. Apne aapko samabal saktha hoon", says Dev to his Mama. Little did he know that he wouldn't be able to handle when he sees Sona go away from him.

KRPKAB theme song had new lyrics... Such beautiful words. It was so gut wrenching to listen to them. Their relationship was over, they were lost, only memories were there now, he had to forget her and he had to remove her from his heart. And this was his Deewangi. The new singer did absolute justice to the song. It was soulful. Felt as if Shaheer was singing...

The letter he wrote was so simple, beautiful & heart breaking. He wasn't sure if he would be able to talk to her. So he had to pen it down. The letter was filled with his heartfelt feelings... He was giving up everything that he had of her. There was no relationship between them anymore. Tonight everything was going to change & everything was going to end for them. He had no right over her anymore. He lost all his haq'. And he wanted to part with the last thing that he had - her bracelet. He had no right to keep it with him anymore. He writes:

"Meine tume jitna dard diya, usse please bhool jana, meine tume jitna dukh diya, tum utni hi khush rehena. Mein tumare liye yehi wish karunga."

Humesha...Tumara... ❤️ 💔

He wipes away those tears streaming down his face. He couldn't control it but he had to stay strong now to face the inevitable.

As Dev walked into the engagement hall, he was trying his best to stay strong. But the moment he saw Sona's name along with R's, things were beginning to fall for him slowly. How was he going to do this? Why was he doing this to himself? Sona was looking out for Dev. Deep down she knew that Dev would come. She wanted Dev to watch her moving on or did she want to see Dev so that she could test if she could move on or not? She wasn't sure what she wanted. Sona wasn't feeling right about this engagement any more. But she had to drag along. Then she saw him. Everything stood still the moment she saw him. He looked broken & she was breaking inside to see him like that. His face was hollow & depressed. She couldn't do anything about it. Both of them had to face this together now. Dev saw her...she looking so beautiful, elegant & mesmerizing. She was supposed to dress like this for him but now she was dressed up for her engagement with somebody else. This was the next blow. He was accessing so many things around him & the reality was finally sinking in. R was there right beside Sona, but she never looked at R the way she was looking for Dev. By looking at Dev she was trying to read every little pain & suffering that his face & body was trying to convey. Dev was trying his best not to give up & not let anything affect him.

The next blow that he received was when Bijoy walked up to him & said that R was the only deserving man who could stand next to his daughter, unlike him who was a weak & a gutless man and how Sona was strong & moving on, accepting the new changes in her life.

Dev tells him, "Aaj pata challa ki maine kya khoya hai...samaj nahi aa raha ki, maine zyada khoya ya R ne zyada paya?" This dialogue was so touching. It truly came from the bottom of his heart. He was in misery & he couldn't phantom what was happening.

Dev was beginning to crack slowly. He was losing the himmat that he was trying to put up. He then saw R & Sona talking to each other, they looked lost in their conversation...realization was beginning to hit him very hard. This was happening & it was happening real fast. He had to stay calm & composed. Only a drink would help now. He had to escape from this pain. Sona could see him ruining himself with every drink that he was gulping. Dev watched them, as photographs were being clicked. R & 'his' Sona were the center of everyone's attention today. It was their special day... A picture of him & Sona was once taken along with his family. He wanted that picture to be real & he wanted the present scenario to be unreal. He couldn't believe it...he continued drinking more & no one could stop him now. He was glaring at them & at that moment Sona tripped & R caught her on time & she was cradled in his arms. To see her in another man's arms was the ultimate stab for Dev. He couldn't take any more of this assault. He was not strong enough. He needed to drink more to drown his sorrows.

Dev was fully drunk now. He wanted to speak to Sona. He'd wanted to do that since he got there. And finally he was getting the chance. He walked towards her, he was staggering & shaking due to the alcohol. He was trying to hold himself up. Sona had this expression on her face which made him feel that she was scared of him & his proximity. But Sona wasn't scared of him; she was scared for him... She still loved him.

Dev tells her, "Mein tho yahan wish karne aya hoon... Aap please, please khush rehna, aap humesha khush rehna. All the best. Congratulations! Ok Ms. Bose...errr...Dr Bose."

She was very concerned when she asked him why he was drinking so much. But Dev jokingly reminded her not to be too concerned about him because it was giving him all the wrong signals...that she still cared for him, that she still loved him. Dev was not himself. He was losing control on what he was saying.

"Aap, Miss Bose bohot strong hai! Mein nahi hoon." He didn't have the courage to come & talk to her. But since he was in an inebriated state he had the guts to talk to her. "Itni himmat hai nahi mujhme." Every dialogue that Dev said was so soulful & deep. It felt like he truly meant every single word that he was saying even though he was drunk. R then comes to speak to Sona & Dev then congratulates him. R asks him if he was comfortable & if he wanted anything else...

"Mujhe chahiye na, woh sirf aap de saktey hai!. Maafi!" (For a second I thought Dev was going to ask for Sona. Thank god he didn't.)

"Mein aapse sorry kehna chahatha hoon." He was apologizing to R for all the troubles he made them go through. He had troubled & disturbed Sona too much. He had given her too much pain, which she was still going through. And Dev was really happy that R gave her all the support that she needed at that time. Dev was really sorry for all the mistakes that he had committed & he thanks R for looking out for Sona (his love). And R, being the gentleman that he has always been tells him...What has happened has happened. It was time to move on...There was no point in brooding over the past.

"I hope aap dono humesha saath rehe, khush rehe. Bohot kucky hai aap. Congratulations... once again!" Dev congratulates them again.

R & Sona are taken away to the dance floor. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil song was so apt for the feelings/emotions that Dev was going through. But was it really an engagement song??? Nah! The makers had pretty much sniffed that, that song suited Dev's situation so perfectly. Well, I'm not complaining. It was Dev's Deewangi & the song suited his Deewanapan. To watch Sona dance with R was killing Dev slowly. He couldn't watch this anymore. He was mad angry & all his emotions were bubbling up. He had to shut this pain & he had to do something.

The engagement ceremony began & R was going to put the ring on Sona's finger. Dev was standing far away witnessing the reality. The reality was so painful that he crushed the glass with his hands. That pain didn't have any impact/affect on him. Sona was looking back & forth at him. Her eyes never left him. Maybe she wanted to see what he was going through. Was she going through the same feeling? Did she realize that she wasn't looking at R at all? Was it clear now that she can't move on? She would be committing a huge mistake if she did...for R, Dev & herself... Dev couldn't take this heartbreak anymore. He passed out on the floor due to the excessive drinking, exertion & trauma/pain. Sona saw him lying lifeless & she ran towards him. Her love had fallen in front of her eyes & she couldn't see him like this. She had to go pick him. His fall was her fall as well. Sona wasn't strong either. She was weak just like him. Their love for each other made them weak. This was not Dev's Deewangi only...it was Sona's as well...With her dada's help she took Dev away from that place leaving R standing alone. She had to tend to her love first & the others came later. Right now their love was their weakness & they had to turn it into their strength. Then only they will be able to cross any hurdle together...

Shaheer stole the show yesterday. He was absolutely brilliant, he was par excellence... The way he emoted, the way expressed his feelings, his dialogue delivery was so apt & perfect. How can an actor be this amazing?? He moves you when he emotes. My eyes were glued on him & my heart tugged whenever he had to say anything at all. He surely is a treat to our eyes. And Sona was so gorgeous & beautiful. She too emoted so perfectly. Especially in that scene when she imagines Dev in her room. In a split second there was happiness & joy on her face & there was this sparkle in her eyes, when she thought that Dev had come to take her away. Ishwari's solid ground was beginning to shake. 'Dev challa gaya!' She couldn't believe that Dev didn't listen to her. It was the first time Dev went against his God and she was scared. She had no idea what was going to hit her.

Superb analysis...
Sooo happy to read such a beautiful positive post on the show amidst so much negativity in the forum. You have analysed everything so perfectly.Everything looks so perfect as put in words by u.

Dev, Sonakshi and Ishwariji , all the three characters' inner turmoil was perfectly emoted by the respective actors.I just couldn't believe that the makers can come up with such an emotional episode. All three of them were struggling with themselves and their feelings.

Moving on ...can never be easy...and it was wonderfully presented on screen by Shaheer and Erica...Love them both❤️

What a brilliant post...You just killed it dear...👏
You are right..I am still not over with Y'day's episode. Need little more time to gather myself.
Let's keep aside all our complaints & flaws for a while. Shaheer is one power house. Damn it. I seriously doesn't like the way CV's executed this separation track BUT this guy is bloody outstanding in all these episodes and making it impossible to hate Dev. Each time i think about that letter scene, unknowingly my eyes are getting filled with tears. I don't know how & when this show made me this crazy.
