I have no clue why we like suffering scenes. But as a writer, I can tell you one thing. Writing pain / agony / conflict / turmoil is personally more rewarding that writing a romantic / bold scene.
It is not easy to write. It is definitely not easy to portray. So the writer in me applauds and appreciates. I don't see negativity. A blow would stagger anyone. Some get back on their feet almost immediately. Some struggle to find their footing. These two are still struggling.
I was not expecting any reply but anyway - thanks.
I couldn't hold (knowing you being a writer) -
When I say "Why do we like / love the suffering scenes". It was just a comment - not a question but anyways , we all like suffering bcoz empathising with the sufferer gives us a high - pushes our hollow and false self esteem. The reason may be different for different persons.
Some people do relate their love life with the stories - and love life is many a times rough and painful.
My main point is the negativity these shows spread. I don't find many positive and spirit enhancers. KRPKEB is also getting depressing.
And finally I fully agree with you that Writing pain / agony / conflict / turmoil is personally more rewarding.
