I really hope it's not emotional manipulation.

maybe he was on his way there and got really hurt because he was drunk? and Sonakshi stopped her engagement to go to him?

They did show him drinking and driving.

That's human nature, my dear. You see, we, humans, are the only living creature on the planet who make a very simple situation complicated.
Every problem has a simple solution if you look at it from a straight-forward, honest standpoint. I found in my life, that truth spoken in factual, calm manner can disarm even the most unreasonable person.

Imagine this scenario.

Dev goes to his mother and says, Mom I love Sonakshi. I tried to live without her but I can't. But since you don't like her, I'd like to know why.

What will his mother say? May be, deny that she doesn't love Sona or say why she doesn't love Sona.

If she denies that she has any objection against Sona, the road is clear.

If she defines the issues, take steps to solve them starting now. If she is afraid of losing her son, then assure her that she will be gaining a daughter just like Sona's family will gain another son. There is no loss in making a relationship, the only loss is in breaking a relationship.

So simple and uncomplicated solution - pure honesty and straight forward talk.

But no, instead stalking, breaking properties, getting drunk and injuring one self seem like a more feasible solution.

I can only shake my over logical head at this.

@Annysageflower - I agree it is a cry for help and not by a person who is in his senses. Because the sensible thing would be to talk to his mother and convince her that he needs Sona in his life.
But he wasn't raised to be a sensible young man. He was always the docile and devoted son of a single mother who will blindly follow her wishes no matter how much he is hurt.
As for the drama at the engagement I'm just going to take it as a bad day when the CVs forgot the realistic story they have been telling us so far.

well said Tia...

But in this route it will be Ishwari who would set in motion talks to get Sonakshi back for Dev's sake. How lame is that? He won't have the Bose' s respect and it gives Ishwari all the power in their relationship again.

Next time they have a huge disagreement, they'll have to ask Ma first. And what sort of a situation will he be throwing Sonakshi into in marriage? One where his mother and GKB call the shots?

Marriage is not happily ever after.
it's a whole new ball game with new rules and complications.
And with it too happiness and love , if some are lucky enough.

true that.

whatever happens I hope it'll be done well nd not just to bury Dev in indignity.

How embarrassing was that , for Tina to see him like that and call Sobaksgu to help? This man needs help , fast !

Yesterday, Sonakshi was talking to him instead of shouting. But she wasn't helping him either. Asking for more promises that are difficult for him would just push him further.

Neither spoke about Ishwari !!

It will help some people to trigger sympathy for the guy ?
It will help to boost TRPs ?
It will help to see the poor 'rich' successful business good-looking hero trying to kill himself in 'lau' ?

Bullshit 👎🏼

Didn't this already happen ? Didn't Dev go ask Ishwari once before the pill incident and she blatantly lied on his face ? How would things change or progress if we are back to square one action points ? Also, I think if I were at Dev's place, I won't take her words on face value anymore about her liking Sona

@ Blue - This is a dreaded nightmare for any mother of a guy. They expect and practice full right on their DILs, but never ever IMAGINE to have their sons shared with the brides' parents 😛 When I really hoped in the beginning of the show to highlight all these insecurities of Indian/Desi MILs, Ishwari has now become even an uglier exaggerated version of what they actually are. So no, they would never take this subtle and sensible route anymore to show her redemption. Now it's like, they have portrayed Ishwari SO bad, that if she becomes an average complicated Desi MIL, I would clap in happiness 😛

The ONLY sensible approach would be accepting her disliking and trying to fight with it irrespective of what she says. Dev needs to make it clear to Ishwari that yes he will not marry Sona against her wish, but he will also not leave Sona as per Ishwari's wish 🥱 He needs to show Ishwari that if Ishwari can decide on who Dev can't choose as his life partner, then a little right Dev has on his own life to choose celibacy for lifetime as per his own wish. 😡 Let Dev inform Ishwari that he will not marry Sona, but also, he will not marry anyone else 😃 I hope the age-old weird desi insecurity of not taking the 'vansh' forward will produce some sense into her. Like I said, the makers have ruined Ishwari's character in such a way that her coming down from that level to the level of having usual regressive thoughts of regular Indian MILs would make her look good now

Yes. Anything but public suicide drama by Dev. Such cheap tricks just for attention by the male lead will cheapen his character. If they have planned this then that would be the last nail on the Dev's coffin. Hope they don't do this.

You know the phrase, God helps those who helps themselves? Yep, that's very much applicable in this situation. Dev has to take the first step. After all who is more impacted by this break up? Dev or Ishwari? Then who should take the first step? Jiski zaroorat usiko pehel karni padti hain. Love is not a candy that someone will hand it over to you.

Besides there's is more in life after marriage. If Ishwari agrees for marriage would Sona ever believe that she had any value in Dev's life if his mother hadn't agreed?
