Read a few people asking the same question over and over again that if we are justifying Dev's character, then we should justify Ishwari's too as both are wrong in the same way ..REALLY ???
I wouldnt like to write an explanation on Dev's behavior coz it has been discussed a lot and its a matter of perception ..however wld surely like to highlight the major reason why Ishwari is criticized more than Dev.

Ishwari took away her Son's Happiness. The very Son who had never done anything ever for his own happiness..the son who pulled the whole family out of their tough times..the son who made sure everyone in his family are happy and contend..Inspite of her realizing the importance of Sonakshi in Devs life, for her selfish reasons, she separated them. She did not care for the girl ,she did not care for her own son..all she cared was herself.

Now coming to Dev, he is not like any normal son..who can go against his parents to marry the girl of his choice..his mom is his life..it has been hammered into his head ever since he was a child..to the extend that now, anythin he does against her makes him feel like he has committed a crime..and on the other side is the love of his life...he cldnt keep his commitment towards her at the same time he can never forget the promises he made to her...to love her all his life...and thats what he is doing now..he is wrong ..his method sure is wrong but his intentions arnt..he is not coming in between two lovers..he is not trying to break a solid relationship ..he knows whatever she is doing is out of anger and he knows she cannot move on so quickly..probably , if she decided to move on after a year or two..thngs might have been different...its possible for someone to get over the past n move on..but so quickly? NO..and Dev knowz that.. as he said tni jaldi meri jagah kisi ko nahi de sakhti" ...its like a rebound relationship for her and it wldnt last coz as Elena said she wld keep comparing Ritwik wth Dev.. All Dev is doing is to let her know its not right to move on so quickly wen she still loves him...the only wrong here is the way he is doing it..not his intentions.

So how do we compare Ishwari with Dev..there is a vast differance between what Ishwari did and what Dev is doing .

Very very well written dear...👏

You have described the difference in a very simple but effective way.. This is what it actually is. We cannot compare Dev and Ishwari... I completely agree with what all you have said... Thank you so much for this post.😊👏

True... Equating him to Ishwari is not at all logical... He didn't leave Sona for his selfish reasons... But Ishwari did everything in her selfishness.
