let us all not forget that KRPKAB is a work of fiction, usually bearing no resemblance to characters living or dead... (who does not know the usual caveat). From this forum, it is clear that most liked KRPKAB till episode 100 or so, particular for its "realism". The makers never said that it would reflect realism, i think. they said it was a simple story, simply told (in the process it reflected realism). However, post 100 or so and continuing, we seem to be wanting our own sense of realism into this show. I have also been a culprit to this craving for my own reasons, as i suspect most of us do.

if we look at it objectively, if the characters were not what they are made out to be, where would the story telling be? I think only the writers know what fiction is in their mind. They have never intended it to be anywhere real for sure, as the caveat typically suggests. We have made it real for our own selves, for our own convenience. The fact is it is a story and a story has a beginning and an end connected by dots. The fundamental premise of any good story telling.. connect the dots as we go along.. and they are doing a pretty good job at that.

I am coming around to believe that a lot of the behavior of Ishwari and Dev, as is being shown, is linked to their past (they are the main protagonists, isn't it?). it has been conveniently been kept from us. I was thinking of "what if" situations that could be part of the story. Here are some... a figment of imagination of my own mind. What if Ishwari had two marriages? What if Ishwari had a difficult marriage? What if Dev is the only one to know something about his mother and wants to keep it a secret to the world to safeguard the respect of a woman. There are so many what ifs.. i think we just need to wait to see this fiction unravel.. I am pretty sure there is some mystery and we need to wait for it to be revealed.

In my view this is the only show that is closest to reality
Dev i'm sure does not know about his mother's secrets
Even now with Dev's behaviour I can say it's real it is a character that one can relate too

I always like your posts they are unbiased I believe they are telling a story which may or may not be real in real life because some days back me and my friend were discussing the same,I had major complaints of Dev's current behavior and my friend pointed out that she would have never fallen in love with a guy who took away her job so I guess we all have our opinions.I no longer connect the show to real life I m watching a story till I enjoy it I will watch or come back to it when I want to but I really hope that the end is good, otherwise having such a talent at their disposal is of no use. 😊

I agree. And even Ishwari's character for that matter. Recently i read a post by Supriyaji where she met a fan who went through the same situation, whose MIL did not approve of her relationship with her son and they had to wait for 7 years to get married. I think that itself says that there are people who go through similar situations in life.
People breaking up because of lack of support of parents isn't new in this world. And there is definitely guys like Dev who worship their mother to the extent that they wouldn't take any step which disappoints his mother.
Yes being a television show the characters and their relations might be exaggerated to grab attention of viewers. But the core concept of a possessive mother and a son abiding by mother's wishes is a reality in this world.

you said it! at the end of the day, we all should watch only if it brings us some entertainment or peace of mind or leaves us with good thoughts.. i have stopped connecting this show with real life ( i used to), even if there may be people who actually clone some of these characters. I will get back to watching it on TV after the engagement track is done. To me it was an aberration in good story telling. But then who does not have these aberrations.

U depicted the emotion of this fiction very nicely! Actually the very title of the serial says a lot kuch rang pyar ke aise bhi!! We all could relate till episode 110 was because we have seen those colours of relationships, son- mothers, brother- sister and man- woman. Bit these new and differnet shades of love, little OTT but they do exist in pur own society. Everyone is forgetting onething Dev has been shown to be a boderline personality from very beginning. These boderline ppl when hit really hard emotionally can actually go haywire. What he is going through is "post traumatic response" which can be very severe at times. U said it very right this is work of fiction and has to be little dramatic, but trust me heartbreak is one thing which can bring out worst in otherwise very normal person.

I totally agree v shld give space for characters to evolve. But yes Devakshi reunion is must for all this to palatable
