I totally agree with you..
I too wanted to post something like this.
.because even if I m in his situation my parents comes first . Because they have been with us all along.. might be the decision wrong.. but at that moment that was the best option available.

And I have always a doubt soon after meeting ishwari ji even bose family weren't happy with sona n dev's relation if bose family asked her to choose then will even sona do the same or different???

Even now sona is no different from Dev ... In yesterday's epi Elena was right.. she starts comparing them both which makes her think wrong.
.
I never ever bashed Dev bcz I like his shade of love... He is extreme in whatever he does that's the reaction of a person who has seen many mishappenings in life.. they will have many insecurities..

So I wanted to see a different situation like sona making him strong and let him come one out of such insecurity . But here for that first they are showing sona how she will come out of this misery...

So dev's character redemption , changes etc I'll take place a little later.. so till then enjoy his shades in love Na...

Agree Sona may be hurrying the things a bit, but imagine she stayed with Dev even after breakup, what might have happened. Dev again would have taken Sona for granted like he did before. He never ever trusted a word Sona said against his mother like before (actually reality of his mother's nature same way he never trusted Neha). Remember it wasn't Sona's pressure that led Dev to talk to his mom about his relationship but his mom's sufferings (or more like drama) which made him feel bad and upon mamaji's insistence he went and talked. He did it to make Ishwari feel better directly. So again Sona no importance of her or her words. Even after Halwa fiasco Dev completely refused to believe a word Sona said.

It's but obvious Sona hasn't forgotten her first love and she won't until she dies. But that doesn't stop her from developing another relationship on the basis of trust. Love can develop when your have trust and respect for the other person. On the other hand Dev is a complete non-trustable guy when it comes to his mom, that's it.

Lets see what has Dev done since break up, sleeping in his mother's lap, making new promises to his mother. Lying all the time. It is clear that he would have never spoken about him and sona to his mother after mommy's suicide drama. So where does that bring Dev-Sona relationship. Should they just meet behind Ishwari's back, Dev lie to his mother all the time and wait for Ishwari to die before they officially get together in a relation.

So why is it wrong for Sona to move. She was and is ready to stay with her promises, but Dev doesn't want that. He wants to hang on to her in a future of uncertainty.

Superb post!

I totally agree with you on Sona acting out of character.

I know Sona is hurt. The way Dev broke up with her was completely wrong. Sona is stubborn just like Dev but I was expecting her to behave more mature after the break up. As you said we have not seen her talking to calmly to Dev after their break up. She says to Elena that Dev does not have anyone besides him and he is alone. But when she talks to him the way she talks to him completely different from what she thinks. I can understand her getting angry and showing frustration in their first few meetings after break up. Now, I see now either she is shouting/taunting Dev. When they were in relationship she was more mature. She also made so many promises especially the one she did when Dev told her he is very complex person to deal with. She said she will never leave him. If we look at the situation both are in, I would have expected Sona to support Dev at this crucial point.

I mention this in some other post.. If Dev had to convince her mom after seeing Sona moving on he would have never broken up with her in the first place. Dev will definitely take some time. Also, Dev will not keep quiet seeing his love moving on. Dev did not break up with Sona because he didn't love her. They both were in love. He had to take decision because of his mom, even Sona knows that why he took that decision. So I was not surprised with the way Dev is behaving now (P.S i am not supporting dev's actions).

The writer knows what they are doing. I just don't blame dev for this. If we have to blame that is situation he was put in. Even mature girl like Sona can take impulsive decision on getting married to Hritik when situation is not in her favor.

The situation will obviously create arguments, but these arguments will in the end make them stronger and wiser, and in the end, I still believe they will love each other.

P.S: I'm waiting for tomorrow's episode, based on spoilers, they will have a LEGITIMATE TALK

Brilliant post...

I completely agree with you... Dev is completely in his character... Sona knows him .. She in fact not behaving in her character, knowing him she made those promises.. In fact he always been very impulsive and I feel he would have regretted his desicion and gone back to Sona.. But

What he said today.. What dialogues... Straight to Sona!!! While talking to Ritwick..

Not sure how we're going to come to initial promo of the Show... I guess this Maha episode will have a big twist ..looking forward!!!

I just don't like R and Sona's pairing ..sorry but I'm simply not enjoying this part!

V good post ...
I agree with u ...Dev in his life first time giving place to a lady other than his mother to Sona ... problem is he doesn't no how to handle the situation... otherwise DevAkshi breakup would have not happened.
he can't leave his mother onside Sona other side...he doesn't want to sacrifice... he thought first he will leave sona bcoz of his mom but he is not able to do that ...
Any ways waiting for their reunion..

What a post? Such a relief to read. I as a Shaheer fan always felt angry on CVs for writing Dev's Charecter in such a way because I can't digest him being disloyal both to his mother and his love.Either he should have survived without Sona to please his mother or he should have preferred to be with Sona at the cost of his mother's life and happiness. I know it is not easy to stand firm in both cases. But still I felt Dev should not be shown as a stalker who crosses the limits in causing inconvenience to his lover.
I found your analysis of Dev so true and perfect. Thanks for making me realise Dev and his honesty in loving his mother as well as his lover. Now I feel proud of Shaheer for essaying such a role. Previously so many writers negated my view when I bashed the CVs for making Shaheer play such a role, but none of them are able to convince me at all. Thank you again.
Coming to your great analysis on Sona's behaviour I appreciate your guts for showing the minuses of that Charecter.I agree with you on every point . Yes she is egoistic. Her father is like Iswari only. Very well said.Thank god you exposed Sona's shortcomings in such a vivid manner. I also feel why she can't talk with Dev instead of shouting at him.The way she is dealing with the situation looks immature and unwarranted. She can discuss and explain why she is opting for marriage.

It is our good luck that Supriyaji is essaying the role. No one can display the subtle emotions like she does. Shaheer is so good and just with his eyes he conveys so much.

Great post and thanks again.

excellent analysis. i have been saying this that both characters are behaving consistently in matters related to love. it is not love they are focusing on, it is ego. Somebody needs to tell them that.

I want to share Shakespeare''s Sonnet 116 on love -

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no; it is an ever-fixed mark,
That looks on tempests, and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come;
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

I am person who firmly believes that love can overcome and will overcome all obstacles. Anything else, like how Shakespeare put it, is not love.
