Today, I think, was the tipping point for me...the murmurings that we had seen from time to time , under the surface or just above, from all the characters, came together to clash in a brilliant cacophony of delusions.
Ishwari - under the delusion that she didn't do anything wrong, under the delusion that she is sole person who can fix everything for her beloved son...whether he needs her fixing , or not.

Mamaji - under the delusion that if Ishwar calms down, maybe she will realize her mistake, without him having to take the step of confronting her

Baba - under the delusion that THIS time, he will protect his daughter...that he can control the circumstances so that she can never ever hurt again

Dev - under the delusion that he can have it all...keep his mother happy, but also keep Sonakshi loving him, missing him...under the delusion that if he fights it hard enough, guilt will keep it's creepy little paws away from him.

And Sona - under the delusion that if she stays strong enough and builds a relationship with another man, she can move on without time for grieving, without shedding the tears that may be a sign of weakness, that may hurt her beloved family on her behalf, without having to confront Dev anymore.

The sum of these delusions is such a morass, such a swamp of parallel threads, that pulling at one will only jerk the other.

Fictional characters, fictional worlds, but such realistic cracks in every character...Kudos to the writers.

Very very well said... All of them are in delusion and once these delusions will break, things will be clear to them.

And frankly speaking i think it'll be Sonakshi who'll realise this before the other characters.

The writers have done a commendable job in showing the inner turmoils of all the characters. Though it is making us all restless, but these things are realistic whether we want to accept it or not. Wrong though, but true.

I agree as well. Though real people may not destroy people lives like Dev, all character flaws are very real. Each one you have described.

A real person in Dev's position would probably break a few times and end up messaging/calling the other person. Basically what happens in a real break up. Low key stalking on social media and what not.

A person in Sona's position would look for a rebound. (They generally don't marry the rebound, but still)

A person in Mamaji's position would want to deal with this with care because he doesn't his sister to have continuous break downs.

A person in Ishwari's position not wanting to deal with the truth.

And a person in Bijoy's position - an angry father who can't deal with his daughter's pain. Basically wants to give her a rebound as well.

Great post!
