Courtesy of the segments and spoilers that are being dumped on us on an hourly basis these days, and the last couple of episodes, I think I can guess the sequence of events that are going to take place in the next few episodes.
Our Dev Babu and his Sonakshi have quite literally crossed each other last night. He, because he wanted to have his daily dose glimpse of her. She, because she has this gut feeling that she is not able to ignore that all is NOT well with him. While I feel like smacking her head for stepping into that house on that lame pretext...(I mean think about it, she could have gotten more information had she called Tina. Not to mention a far warmer response), the makers brought in this scene for a reason.
Sonakshi will go to Ishwari Mansion. As per precap + one of the spoilers, Ishwari and Sona will have a confrontation wherein RR will add her own brand of fuel to the fire by mentioning they are looking out of rishta for Dev. Sona, will assume that Dev is ready to move on, get married to the girl his Devi Maa has chosen for him. She doesn't know Ishwari's problem, right? And the last of her hopes dashed and crashed to the ground she comes back home and cries on Ritwik's shoulder. Which is justified. And the guy did offer to help her out.
After that she would be all the more determined to overcome her pain. She will make more effort to move on with Ritwik. And when she sees Dev following her and arranging dinner date for her, she will be royally pi...oops...sorry...furious. And justifiably so. He is moving on but refusing to let her do the same, according to her POV.
Dev, unknown of the visit and the confrontation, is unable to let her go. The more she tries to push him away, the more hurt he is and the more he tries to come closer. This guy is an addict and Sona is the drug. He is not an idiot. He knows he was the one who'd pushed her out of his life. But now he himself is not able to stay out of hers...not able to stay away from her. He doesn't understand how HIS Sona is able to stay away from HIM. He is neither alive nor dead. Stuck, he takes refuge in the bottle, scribbles her name along with his (come to think of it, he has always had a thing for clubbing their names / stamping his name on her).
Tina calls up Sona and Sona comes running. After all, her instinct is still screaming that there was something wrong. Seeing his state of despair, she again takes a step towards him. Asks him to marry her. He can't. As far as he knows, his maa doesn't like Sonakshi. And if he does take Sona back into his life, neither woman would be happy. He can't hurt his maa that way. He can't hurt his Sona that way. He can't choose. So he says no.
That brings her crashing down again. How many times would she go out on the limb and end up getting hurt?? Tired, she demands a promise from him. Don't try to meet me or even see me ever again. Justifiable from her POV. Whether he would stay on THIS promise is another topic entirely.
He thinks she is moving on. She thinks he is all set to move on. Neither realizes that neither is moving or going anywhere. They are being PUSHED by Ishwari. Only Ishwari is not realizing that while she might be succeeding in shoving Sona, her son is down on his knees. Crashed to the floor. Struggling to breathe with the impact of her thrust. And the saddest part is her son doesn't know who has shoved him to the ground and now making sure he stays down.
