Losing interest in the show to be frank..

And no...I wanst bashing Dev. Just didn't understand his reasons for hiding. One would think Momma's boy Dev would be glad to tell his mother about following her wishes.

Can you explain why he is hiding it?

I think both mom and son are in denial.. They want to project that they both know eachbother very well .
But actually they know nothing abt each other... Ishwari is insecure beacuaee she knows thier bond is not actually as strong as she projects to others.. Same from dev side... He knows that deep inside that his mom may not find happiness in his happiness..

They are just indenial... Ishwari never said ahe disnt like sona for the fear that this facade will break down...
Dev has hidden the relationship beacuse deep inside he believed that his mom will fail him...

He said that he is scared that kisiki nazar lag jayegi-- it is ishwaris nazar he was thibking about

But they will both deny this and will prject as the inseparable mom son ... Actually it is the weakest from where i can see

Mamaji is parasite here. Does he have no guts to say ishwari you are doing wrong..may be he is afraid, she might throw them out of the house
Ishwari is dominating woman the house. No body has guts to speak against her. I have seen in real life, one person is dominating, other person ends up in praising her, though he does not like to..and try to do whatever dominating person wants..

Here sad thing is ishwari is selfish too..

Lavanyaji,
I still don't understand the reason/logic behind hiding why he broke up with Sona. Is he ashamed of himself or his mother. If not then who is he trying to protect by hiding this. Not his mother surely.. as that's what she actually wants..Mamaji knows and the rest of the family would just accept it as that's their mother's wish...

Aise bolona confuse hogayi which hiding your talkingabout...
Here is the scenario ... A mentally weak person gulped sleeping pills like m&ms as she was not happy with this realtionship. Dev heard her saying she is not able to find happiness in devs happiness and that she is a bad mother...

Aise halat mein, next day if i go and tell her , she is the reason why he has lost his love and happiness...
What is the gaurantee that she will not regress and take another big dose of pills as she now got a confirmation that she is a bad mother..

So it is best to leave it unsaid. She definitely understands she is the reason but she prefers to be in denial that dev has not yet realized that she is not that ideal mother.

That is my take on this . If i was in devs situation i would not tell my mother who just tried to commit suicide( dev doesnt know that she took extra pills to sleep quickly- for him it is a suicide attempt) that she is the reasoni broke up

Bottomline- ishwari wants dev to breakup with sona but it should not be revealed to world that it is beacuse of her...

And dev is just being protective of his mom so that she doesnt take that extreme step again

You are reaching Lavanyaji..😃

He could have simply said that while he loves/loved Sona, his mother is more important and he can find happiness with some other girl easily as long as Ishwari accepts her.

That would be closer to the truth and doesn't hurt anyone. Simply saying aise hi would actually create a doubt than pacify.

Dev isn't the kind to fall in love every other day and everybody knows it...

Spacenoxx ji( sorry what is ur name pls)
Basically it doesnt matter anymore whther it is closer to your version of real or my version of real.

Under these circumstances i would not say anything that would make my mom feel 1% guilty even if she is 99% happy
Dev thought like me in this situation which seems unreal to you..

Exactly my Point. These dixits r so selfish that they believe what want to believe, doesn't matter if anyone else is getting hurt by there actions and words. Mataji ke tou kya kehney, she is full of herself. I still xabt believe how can a mother be like this.

To me, the fact of Dev hiding the real reason for his breaking up with Sonakshi actually fits perfectly in with both his character and the situation. It is exactly parallel to his decision to break up in the first place - he doesn't want his mother to force herself to accept the girl of his choice if she's not happy. If he tells her that he left Sonakshi for her, I'm pretty sure he feels that Ishwari will be overcome by guilt, try harder to swallow her misery and convince him to keep Sona in his life since she is what makes him happy. Because he STILL thinks Ishwari will want to see him happy. That is who he is. Therefore, if he pretends to be happy without Sona, Ishwari won't have to cope with the guilt of having deprived him. Problem solved.

And honestly, any scenario where he can openly tell Ishwari and the rest of his family that he let go of his one greatest happiness because his mother couldn't accept it, and where they can all be okay with it - leave alone be happy - would be a very bizarre one for me. I would find it fairly disturbing and twisted, in terms of their humanity. That's what I feel.

That's a very twisted family isn't it. In my family we always have given more importance to truth than diplomacy. That's why I find it difficult to relate sometimes to Devs family. Just about everyone lies/hides truth.

Neha lies to Ranveer regarding her reservations about children.

Dev lies to his mom about everything that he suspects she may not like

Ishwari lies to Dev about her insecurity.

Everyone lies about how much they really like GKB😉

No mention of overdose. Also I just couldn't wrap my head around why Dev couldn't reveal the real reason behind the break-up. He could have said Ishwari didn't want it. He is just following his mother's wishes after all.

Why did he hide that... Is he ashamed of his mother... If not his revelation should logically cheer Ishwari. And a typical clueless Dev should have assumed the same.

Again... Contrived complication of hiding facts fur not apparent reason.

he is not ashamed of his mom but he doesn't want her to be held responsible
for his breakup bcos he himself doesn't feel so. he is the one who is feeling
guilty and so he will never say his mom is the reason he broke up.
