This is just SO real-life like incident - MIL knows the reaction of her son to something which her DIL has done, but deliberately making him go through that and later feels sadistic pleasure when the son complains for that.. Here it's halwa, it can be anything..

And then in front of the DIL, they nicely act good so that when DIL complains to her son about what her MIL did, the beta thinks his mom as saint and gets angry at rather his wife 😳

Very real-life plot and I'm glad it's shown here.. And I am also glad that how Sona directly asks Ishu about this bit**y behavior.. This is how it should be in real life too.. Because DILs digest everything and gives in to the situation, MILs continue doing this till forever.. But asking/charging directly for such behavior will lead to healthier atmosphere.. Just 5/6 more incidents like this - The MIL in Ishu is bound to feel ashamed of herself ..
