Good question. ..I think they are north indian Brahmins...it's just my guess ..

Yes... Even i think they are North Indian Brahmins as they don't eat non-veg too. So may be Brahmins.

They are never shown speaking in Marathi in the show. And hindi Brahmins do have Dixit as their Last Name.

They never showed it though, but my extended family writes Dixit as well. . So ya. .North Indian Brahmins.
