in real life you actually do that when the guy n his family are stangers and you want to confirm whether they have given right home address or if the guy is really working in the company he mentioned. Yes, I feel there will be more to this scene than just insults. Like you said, may actually force Bose family to wonder whether The Dixits would understand Sona's worth. .Bojoy clearly said he wanted to see how the family actually is.
