The midnight tale- OS
After his first love approving his second love Dev was on seventh heaven and guilty for disappointing Sonakshi. He knew it was already mid night but he wanted to meet her right away, So He took his car keys and left for Sonakshi's house. Sonakshi was tossing in bed cursing herself for missing Dev's calls and being so nagging.. Suddenly phone rang and screen was flashing Dev's name. She immediately picked the phone and said in one breath " I m sorry I missed your calls, all well? Y r u not piking my call?".
Dev replied in a serious voice" I need to talk to something important right now, I m waiting outside ur house". Sonakshi came down running and the moment she saw Dev she asked " Ki holo? Aap abhi yahan?".
Dev rushed towards her and lifted her to sky, Sonakshi was screaming both in happiness and fear. The moment he settled her back on the ground, she screamed" Have u gone crazy?" " Yeah my love crazy about you" Dev said.
Sonakshi blushed and asked" Someone seems to be very happy and as far as I know Mr. Dev Dixit can be so happy if things between him and his mother have been sorted." Dev said nodding his head in disagreement " This time you are wrong Ms. Sonakshi Bose, I can be so happy only if things are between you, me and maa are sorted.
Sonakshi asked surprisingly " And what does that mean". Dev replied "that means, I spoke to maa about us" and paused. Waiting eagerly to complete his sentence Sonakshi asked" And what did she say?" Dev continued his pause enjoying the restlessness on Sonakshi's face. I am asking you something " what did she say". Dev said softly and smiling" She was happy for me, rather us and she likes you". Smile of content ran across Sonakshi's face.
Dev asked looking into her eyes" So...still you don't trust me? U don't believe in me?" Sonakshi looked down in guilt and said" I m sorry, I know how much my words would have hurt you. I believe you and trust you more than I trust myself."
She climbed on her toes, put her arms around his neck and looking into his eyes said" I am really very sorry, I belive in you and trust you completely". Dev lifted her from her waist pulled her near him and said" No need to say sorry. This is the happiest moment of my life".
Still holding her from her waist he made her sit on the bonnet of his car and sat next to her, looking towards sky with a smile on his face. Sonakshi waiting for further details, snapped in front of his eyes and asked " Hello! Poora detail mein kaun batyega".
Dev looked at her and putting his arm around her shoulder said " Zyada kuch detail mein baat nahi hui, Maa knew about us before hand". Sonakshi looked at him surprisingly and asked " How come? Who told her? Did any of my talks or actions made her realise, probably that's y she was not talking to me also properly".
Dev said immediately" No, She overheard us talking, moreover, she was angry with me not you because she expected that she will be the first person I will confess whenever I will fall in love and I din do that so, she was very disappointed. Now I realise why u were persuading me to tlk to maa, even your family would be expecting the same from you. I m sorry I din understand ur point of view, I don know how I cld I b so selfish?."
Sonakshi smiled and held his hand in hers and said" Its ok to b selfish sometimes, u have always just thought about everyone else,probably first time ever you were overwhelmed with ur happiness and we all misunderstood you. So, I m sorry!"
Dev put his other arm also across her turned towards Sonakshi and said" No more sorries, now everything is fine, u r happy, maa is happy and I am also happy. We need to talk to ur parents now, tell me when should v go and talk to them. Tomorrow?"
Sonakshi clutching his already held hands said " They already know about it. Maa overheard me and Elena talking and she spoke to baba and dadi." Dev looked at her eagerly waiting for her to complete the sentence. So, this it was her turn now. Dev asked eagerly" And..", " And nothing" Sonakshi said naughtily. Dev gave her a light shake and asked " And what do they think about me". Sonakshi said in the same tone as Dev had said " they were happy for me rather us and they like you". Hearing to her reply Dev was so happy that he embraced her tightly and said "Really! U can't imagine how happy I m today, can't ask anything more in life".
Dev got down from the bonnet, turned towards Sonakshi, holding her hand in his said " Thanks for being a part of my life." Sonakshi smiled but her smile fainted in a while, which when noticed by Dev asked her" Kya hua?" Sonakshi asked him seriously" Dev does ur mom really like me". " Ofcourse she does, who will not like an amazing person like you and now you are love of her son's life, this makes you even more precious." Sonakshi has slight relief on her face but she still looked worried. She said" I don knw I m feeling very nervous, how will I meet her tomorrow? Wat will I say? I know she admires me as a nutritionist but will she like me as her...i mean, u know wat I mean?" Smiling naughtily Dev asked " No I don understand, admire u like wat? Tel me". Sonakshi looked down blushing and said" love of her son's life". Dev wanted to hear daughter in law but he knew its not easy to win over Sonakshi in a conversation, he settled with wat she said and replied " Y are you tensed, Sonakshi you are a gem of a person, you don have to do anything to please her, just be you natural self and spend more time with her, she will understand that wat an amazing choice her son has." There was expression of achievement on his face.
Sonakshi got down from the bonnet and said" Ok, I agree to you, I just need to spend more time with her. You should be going now,u have to go to office in the morning" and started walking towards her house.
Dev held her from wrist and pulled her towards him. Looking into her eyes he said"I love you Sonakshi", Sonakshi said" I knw that" and stepped ahead, embracing from behind Dev stopped her " I don want you to go, let's go for a drive. Itne din ho gaye tumhe theek se dekhe hue, tumse baat kiye hue". Sonakshi looked back and said" I know that, even I want to be with you always, all the time but abhi jaaoongi nahi toh subah aaoongi kaise?" Dev left her from embrace knowing that its not right for her to be out of the house so late and said" Subah hum dono saath mein maa se milne jaayenge, ok, u don't be nervous". Sonakshi smiled and said" Ok, Gud night". Both of them were looking at each other till they were out of each other's vision. After Sonakshi was no more visible, Dev turned towards his car, he was so relieved and happy that finally the love of his life will be the lady of his life. Totally unaware of the conversation going on at home between maa and mamaji about her persisting emptiness and insecurities Dev started his drive back to home.
