From a story standpoint, today's episode was part of the same arc as the other episodes in this week. The CVs continue to move forward with the same story line they intended to highlight in this week/fortnight - Dev./Sona romancing and restless without each other, others suspecting changes in their lives, Ish upset with the changes and proximity with Sona..and the story moving towards the big reveal
BUT everyone liked/loved the episode for the simple reason that the characters stayed true to their original traits..

Dev - Back to his usual manly assertive self.not to mention his restlessness and desire for Sona plus above all clearly respecting her professional counsel and stating that firmly to every one. Referring to her in public as his mom's doc and bringing her up in the discussion with his guests too and with so much respect. The bonus shot - the glare directed at mami for her crass words

Sona - nice attitude today, did not nag but highlighted how busy he was. She was also supportive and asked about his meeting. and the best part is that she was back to speaking like how her character should and not like a star plus bahu. she came across as a fun, attractive, loving and very desirable GF! How can Dev resist her? I also liked how she chided him for inking her. The bonus shot - spoke something when mami talked crap and did not start her statue imitation. CVs - please keep this up and also start giving her a life

Ish- well she continued to act possessive, insecure and immature (insisting on cooking when unwell - I have low patience for elderly folks who do this because it always backfires even if it is motivated by affection). However, what made is all palatable is that her not normal behavior did not rain on Dev and Sona's party today. It is always disturbing to see the leads helpless in the face of the machinations of the antagonists or Ish in this case since in their story she will keep them apart. Especially when they are two professionally successful and mature adults, it is annoying to get the impression that they have no control over their lives/outcomes

Above all, the episode had a happy vibe!

Amidst all this I still cannot help feeling very annoyed at Ish's blatant partiality towards the son - Dev. Does she stay awake for Nikki/Riya/call/visit Neha? if instead of Dev, it was Neha talking about Ranveer would she feel this way. her son is so precious but her daughters are so common that she is prepared for an alliance after meeting the guy just once! I just wish the CVs had made her a possessive mom in general or atleast towards more than 1 kid instead of just Dev. Very tough for me as a woman to stomach this! Moms and daughters have such a lovely bond and I am disappointed that they do not show her missing Neha at all but worried about Dev coming a little late!

I loved everything about ur post and agree to it... Specially the daughter /son part... I literally despise Ishwari for this biased behavior of hers towards her son /daughters... It's down right dispicable... I just don't feel Any sympathy for her no matter how many flash backs or sad instances they show coz it's only about her struggle and with Dev in it... Poor Neha was in it all through... I'm never gonna b able to. Like or respect her
. ..
Same thinking is for someone else's daughter... I'm. Hinting at Sona... She's so clouded with her obsessive love for Dev... She has forgotten that this very girl has treated her so well... She really liked Sona... Just bcoz her son is getting involved she has started to look upon her as an intrusive pest...!!! And that she is the one diverting him... Of course her son can do no wrong... What a messed up person is she... Never understood nor willing to understand her children.

This is is indeed upsetting. Their backstory is all fine to explain the bond between her and her son but there is absolutely no basis for her misogynistic thinking. It is ironical that she as a single mom achieved so much but she has low respect for women and their abilities..in real life I find such women to be strong role models and champions for other women.

Absolutely! She has always praised her. She even told Dev after their double date that she would make a very good bahu. Somehow she is still not good enough for her precious son but a struggling guy from a family she has not even met is great for her daughter and she is delighted that he has changed her! Dev however should remain the same, strange!

So agree with u... She barely knew ranveer... She wants Neha to adapt to her new life... But will not accept a change in her sons life... I have a daughter... If she would ever come up to me to say I'm biased towards her bro.. I think I'm gonna die in Shame... It's ridiculous. This kind of clouds all my thinking towards Ishwari... Lol

Well said !! I keep wondering why she is not bothered of Neha. Normally ,mom will be curious to know abt newly married daughters life. I am sure most married women in this forum would agree to this. They would have so many things to talk / advice their newly married daughter and will be worried if daughters dont call them. But we dont get to see any such curiosity from Ishwari. We dont get to see her interacting with her two younger daughters too.

Thank you. The creatives need to watch their earlier episodes to realize that they addressed the normal emotions and relationship expectations earlier. yes, there was a bias towards Dev but they had many scenes between Ish and daughters. It will not do to focus on Ish upset with Sona's influence over Dev to the exclusion of all else. They should structure their episodes like today with so many aspects being covered. They even reiterated Dev's character as a successful businessman by bringing some delegates home. Most male leads in shows do not look manly because they are never shown actually working..they are busy wringing their hands when women have issues..

Yes. I understand that the makers want to tell the tale of a possessive mother (especially mother - son) but i wish they did not make Ish so misogynistic. It is all very well to say it happens and we want to showcase but I thought Sony was trying to be more progressive in outlook. Especially because the female audience which is appreciating this particular show will be put off by this blatant bias and not want to see Ish's pov.
