why is it always about dev and his mum?

I mean ever since the confession,both sona and dev care about is his mum,she shouldnt be hurt,sick,panicked and all.

Good question! Honestly isn't it always about the boy's family in our culture and society? When does anyone ever think about the girl's family and their hopes and expectations? I like that they've portrayed the Bose family as being this really happy and cute family but they have stopped talking or caring about getting Sona married. Forget that, they didn't even inquire about Sona when she was in that depressed stage when Dev was marrying Natasha...they didn't even ask why she is so happy nowadays. I hope Sona tells her family and that they can somehow convince Ishwari that look you're not the only one having to share your child - we're sharing our beloved Sona with your son too to the extent that she didn't tell about the relationship either.

Dev respects Sona's family ..we never seen him disrespect or talk ill about her family ...Sona is lucky to have a normal family unlike Dev and currently they are not having any major issues so there is not much Dev can do ...every family goes through some bad phase ..Bose family needed support during accident phase and Dev was always there for them even though he was just Sona's boss ..I'm sure in future if they are in trouble then Dev will be the first person to lend them his support ..Dev loves Sona as much as she does if not more and one cannot doubt his love,loyalty towards Sona...

Sona herself seems more bothered about Dev's family, so its a far thought that Dev will focus on her's... I think for once sona should say take leave from work saying my mom is unwell or something like that... Will make her importance/need felt in dev's house, as also give some value to her own family which she seems to have long ignored... Thank goodness they are not like Ishwari who notices the least sign of ignoring felt lol...

Sonakshi should hold some family principles as well... The only time she said "humare yahan aisa hota hai" was to justify her gaudy makeup... Maybe a scene where she refuses something to Dev or Ishwari or GKB as it goes against her family values...
