...Well to be honest , its not just Ishwari but most mother in laws dont confront their son...its the daughter in law who gets it ...and that too will be given with out their son's knowledge. And then in front of their son they behave as if nothing happened, so that even if this poor daughter in law goes and explains it to her husband answer would be "its ur imagination, my mom likes you , she never talks bad about you "🤣

I think its because confronting men normally increases the big fight in the family. I mean when guys get cornered or pulled betwn wife and mother , they get angry , irritated and wont know whom to support. So what they do is to try and avoid . The best way these guys avoid is by coming home late , staying out with friends etc . So mom's also have a good intention behind it.

Eventually all three will learn to survive with other but till then its a rough ride and if you end up with some one like Dev as a husband and Ishwari as a mom in law then you should prepare urself for the worlds tallest a roller coaster ride.😆

Hahaha.. Ur post and explanation my god.. Too good

Very interesting post! I feel its Ishwari's insecurities. I guess she is not comfortable with any lady in Dev's life.
Even Dev's sisters know that they cant come between ma beta duo. If u remember Neha quoting that Ma betiyon ko apne aur bhai ke beech nahi aane deti.
Ishwai is one complex character. she is biased and hypocrite too. Remember her b'day? She didnt seem excited about the stuff her daughters got her. She was upset that Dev didnt take her. She easily accepts Neha's love. She can see flaws in Neha. She is happy that Ranbir has brought positive changes in Neha. But if someone does the same to Dev she will be giving us those scary killer expressions😭 She is full of insecurities and most of the times she lives in a dream world esp. when it comes to Dev. She belives Dev is flawless. So no one needs to change him. If somebody tries to change him then she will come to the conclusion that Dev is changing now, he will forget her. She wont be his priority anymore n what not!!

She is excited about all the stuff related to Dev, except his love life or personal life with someone. She forgets that his son is grown up now and he needs a life partner.

I think the day she realizes that Dev's life partner brings out best in him and his partner is not there to replace mom she will cool down a bit 😉

I may sound different from the entire forum but just wanted to say this. What irks a mother or annoys her is the sudden change in her son once he falls in love. In this case Ishwari all along her life would have tried to convince Dev for belief in God which he refused but suddenly just because Sons says he sits in the Havana. Obvious that Ishwari would not like it. Or any mother won't.
On funny part I have two sons,. I just ask for any help at times they refuse to help and I just warn them and say if in future I happen to see you people doing the same thing for your wife then I am going to kill you people.
Note : Not intended to hurt or differ, just my POV

Unrealistic, selfish, weird, double standards, partial, oh you can add all the words here for Ishwari because that's what truly defines her. Sorry at this point I refuse to call her a mother by any standards. She is highly mature for others but to herself she has not an ounce of brain when it comes to Dev. Mighty words for others but none apply to her.

Ishwari thinks n believes that since she has struggled so much to raise Dev, She would keep Dev now to herself all her life. Dev is not supposed to have his own life. He is to live only for her. She does not want Dev to ever get married to anyone, its not the question of who the girl is, its a no girl at all situation, period.

I feel sorry for, If someone really has a mother like that in real life, which I believe are.

If the way she tried convincing Neha for lehnga is her way, I say no one would ever agree to anything she says. she literally forces her opinion n beliefs on others. And important thing to remember here is she does not care even a tiny bit about the outcome or benefits of a change (a change might be good, like taking care of your health), but why Dev agrees/listens to someone else.

Here again why Dev agreed to sit for puja should really be the point of interest to Ishwari but she because of her jealousy would not care for reason but take it on her ego n boom...all hell loose.

Point when you warn your own kids of change in future (I am sure you joke with them), you are not to crucify your child for If they would say change in future after marriage. No mother ever does that. But here Ishwari would do that. She would punish her child for the change. Like seriously highly mental case Ishwari is.

It is not that Ishwari dislikes Sona as a person.. but the reasons she isnt able to accept their relationship is coz she is threatened by Sona!!

She was never threatened by Natasha or had fear that Dev would go away from her, but the way Dev is with Sona.. with how much he trusts / shares with her, she is really threatened by Sona in dev's life. Coz she feels that sona is one person who is kind of taking some of her place in dev's life & heart, and thus the difficulty in accepting her!!

I don't really see Ishwari disliking Sona
its the mere thought that Dev can easily discuss important and personal issues with Sona whereas before he only discussed with Ishwari so yes that would become a problem for Ishwari knowing that Sona has already been given this important place in Dev's life

I clearly said it's my point of view. As a mother especially a single mother its real hard to let things go. Just trying to put across Ishwari's thought process. If you think a mother will jump in joy the moment she comes to know about his love and this girl is responsible for her son's changed behavior , it's not going to happen. Call me a person from old school but this is the truth.

I feel Ishwari is 100% justified in disliking sonakshi... What sona is doing by hiding the relation & then getting caught thrice a day with Dev is that she has created an image for herself of - "Dev ko apne pyar ke jaal me phasa liya" types 😉 Most people would react like Ishwari in the given situation where a girl emplyee of yours starts getting free with your son and starts seeing him... Had Dev told the first day that mom I think i like sonakshi, she would have herself been on cloud 9 and taken initiative to talk to her of his feelings... By hiding, she has come out negative - totally negative... Wherein in the coverup of her job, she is actually romancing with her son...
