It's the post confession that Dev has lost his assertiveness. The incident involving Sona is the only exception. And like you said since there was no hype it is almost forgotten.

Still it's one lone incident and desperately needs some company😉😉😉

Before confession: 29th feb-13th june

Post confession: 14th june-14th july

So as i understand according to number of days before confession has much higher number of days than the latter...therefore according to my intelligence that some days are desperately needed before asking the stand of dev's assertiveness

By that same calculation, previously Dev only had to struggle between Ishwari and Neha and probably had 33% change to have his say.

Now you have to add Sona and Ranveer to the mix thereby by making he-who-thinks-of-others-first's life so much more difficult with even less than 20% chance to have his say😉😉

On a serious note it is expected of him to navigate these problems and mature which is a good thing.

Just that it shouldn't come at the cost of his sense of self or identity.
