Exactly. Does she not feel awkward taking money from her boyfriend? Same. I want her to leave the job on her terms and not because she has been forced to leave.

Brilliant post.

Dev-Ishwari relationship : Dev loves his mother, idolizes her and makes an effort to keep her comfortable and happy. He has seen her struggle and so wants to ensure she has nothing but the best. But I don't think he connects with her on an emotional level. He has never been shown to share his problems with her. The recent example is the late night meeting that Tina had arranged. He never told Ishwari about Gujral's threat the next morning. Why he has not opened up about Sonakshi is still a mystery to me but I think he is somewhere confident that Ishwari would have no problem with Sonakshi. He is going to get a jolt today when Ishwari taunts him on the file issue.
On the other hand, Ishwari seems to find her soul-mate in Dev. She is rather obsessed with Dev and that can be dangerous. Dev has taken care of her and has been her go-to person for a long time now and naturally she expects him to be as forthcoming as she is (remember how she runs to him even for advice on Nikki's picnic).

Very well said. He has confidence on her that she will accept Sona, he does not understand Ishwari at all. And Ishwari does not understand Dev emotionally at all.

Sonakshi : I am not sure when that 3-month contract would end but its high time that Sonakshi walks upto Dev and tells him that his mom has now fallen into a routine with the diet and there is really no need of her to be around the house all the time. She should move on before their relationship is out in the open and people start taunting her and insulting her. Anyway its not that Ishwari's vital stats keep changing daily because of which her diet needs constant modification.
Exactly. I just feel that her job as has been degraded so much. She has a boyfriends and now she needs to think about her career. She used to love her career in the beginning and now its sidelined whereas they still shoe Dev, I think her career should get equal importance.

Very nice post 😊 I missed your post and made a similar small post though about a particular scene yesterday. I have been finding some parts of the romance a bit too sweet and Dev not revealing about the relationship really unreasonable. However, when I think of it, I guess we must give the CVs the benefit of doubt here. One thing about this show is that they are taking it really, really slow - the way they build on small incidents and feelings is actually very good. If we look at it that way, it has been a very short time since Dev has fallen in love - so he is still awestruck with the new feeling in his life and savoring every moment of it. And just like in his career, he wants to make it perfect - in fact, just copybook style 😃 So, he has been putting in so much effort into being an ideal "boyfriend"! Neha's wedding is the first reality check for him as we see he is already feeling that he has been too preoccupied with himself and his relationship with Sona.

Same. I am sorry to say this but its becoming too romantic for me too. I would really like some arguments to spice up the things. I am glad they have a realistic touch to the show but its a drama at the end of the day, so some stuff is really needed to spice up the things. Thats true. I have to give it to CV for handling everything beautifully. They handle even the small moments with so much care!

Another point is Sona is not really the fighting passionately type. If you remember in the promos, the first one they aired showed her telling Dev that if he chooses not to talk about things, she won't either. She expresses herself more freely when she is alone but is pretty mature and grounded in Dev's presence. And that is why, she can understand him and handle him so well - minus the arguments 😊 Dev, on the other hand, is very emotional and at times impulsive too - so gets carried away when it comes to the people he loves. That is why, he approached Ranbeer too on Neha's behalf (which I believe he shouldn't have done and instead should have tried to talk to Neha). So, Dev is now just getting carried away by his feelings for Sona. Later, when he realizes his mother's stand, he will probably back out 🤢- as they had showed in the promos. This is not to say he is fickle - in fact, his strong feelings for the very few people he loves make it so difficult for him to balance. He just needs to get his priorities right and take firm and intelligent decisions when it comes to relationships. He should understand he cannot have it all perfect with one person - he has to 'hurt' his mother a bit initially to get Sona, he has to let Neha live her own life without interfering, he has to find solutions that may not be perfect for everyone but the best for them under the circumstances. The developments we expect in the characters will probably happen when they separate and not as long as they are together 😊 Also, I expect they will happen more in Dev than in Sona who is more sorted on all fronts. The story is also more about Dev and HIS relationship with his mother and girlfriend.

What you said makes sense that their personal growth will happen when they separate but my problem is that they are showing Dev making mistakes, and having faults. I am not able to sallow Sonakshi's perfect girlfriend role. It would be nice to see her make mistakes. She has been this perfect girlfriend which I am not liking. I love her, she is sweet and caring but I wish I could see her make mistakes.

As for Ishwari, her behavior and expectations are completely justified and Dev should have ideally (even practically) shared the truth with her. There was also no reason not to because Ishwari likes Sona very much and has technically given the freedom to Dev to make his own decisions. However, the whole story of this show revolves around the small detailing of the characters' lives and emotions - because honestly the basic idea is not very strong in itself for a soap. Ishwari would surely not be able to hold her own in the face of Dev's unhappiness for a long time. So, they would take it through the subtleties of each day, her getting to know the truth, her feeling betrayed and replaced, Dev's reactions, Sona's response, and so on and so forth.

It would be interesting to see these developments and I trust the writers to do a good job there!

I trust the writers too. I know they will do a good job. But they need to make situations a little more spicier, thats my point of view!

The romance is getting monotonous, unreal, boring and cliched I never expected Dev to be a doormat as someone rightly pointed out . Yes I hate to see him forget his mother and her nature. I just could not swallow the way he asked Sonakshi to bring the file as if it is a common thing. I know many will offer me free advice not to watch the show if I felt it that way. The problem is Shaheer is my Jaan. So I will watch daily yawning and sulking seeing the unexciting romantic track . I know there are people who just jump and say people like us who are pointing out these points would like to see intense romantic scenes and Blah Blah. But I belong to that category for whom one eyelock can convey volumes instead of bookish dialogues or physical closeness. Anyway nice to know some are there feeling the same way as I do.

I am not able to sallow that scene either, thats the only reason that motivated me to this post. i just cannot sallow that scene.

I agree...the worst...i don't understand why dev is hiding his relationship with sona from ishwari...he should tell ishwari that he is in love with sona...unknownly he is creating problems for everyone..neha...sona...ishwari...i wonder when did he learn to hide things from his mother...he is also interfering in neha's life when she is married now...he very well knows that ranveer doesn't like it...his over caring attitude might affect neha's married life...currently i don't understand dev's character though i love him...

I love the way ishwari taunt dev...he needs to put his feet on earth...i am hating the fact that he is not investing his time for his mother...neither he is trying to understand her...i dislike it when he ask ishwari to choose a saree for her birthday when every year he spends his time with his mother...just becos you are a changed man becos of love that doesn't mean the most important relationship are neglected...

Same I just do not understand why he is hiding the relationship. This could have been so much more smoother if he did not hide but the more he hides, the bigger mess its going to create.

Okay for Neha, its different. He really loves her and he understands that she suffered so much because of poverty so he just wants to make sure that she is comfortable. He think he is doing the right thing, and from where he is coming, it is the right thing to do however, he does not realise that he should not interfere like that.

He is new in a relationship and moreover he does not understand his mother. In today's episode its the first time they have communicated, this is the first time Ishwari has asked Dev for his time. Dev is unaware that his mother LOVES spending time with him. But even I did not like that he did not take her to choose the saree. But again he had no idea that for Ishwari the time spent with him is more important that the gift. He assumed that the gift was the most important. It's not Dev or Ishwari's fault, its just the communication gap they both have.
