What a beautiful episode contained with perfect dialogues. Dev was absolutely brilliant today, and so was Sonakshi. Another huge applause for Erica and Shaheer. From the entire episode, one line really caught my eye 'I need you for myself'. Such a simple dialogue but it conveys so much.
Dev has led such a hard life, always sacrificing for his sisters and mothers. He sacrificed his childhood to be the man he is now. He hasn't had the luxury to get what he always wanted because his family did not have the means and they couldn't afford to complete Dev's wants. His childhood was filled with sacrificed and compromises and taking responsibility of household at such a young that he forgot what it was like to have something for himself. Something which he just wants for himself only. He forgot how to be selfish. Sona is the first thing that has has wanted for himself. He could have gone ahead the engagement, doing something again for someone. Doing for the business deal, doing it for Natasha's love towards him, doing it because he has already said so. But no this time he took a decision for himself. He took a decision which only benefitted him, for the first time he was selfish. Sonakshi not only taught him how to live and appreciate life's colors but she also taught him that it is okay to want something for yourself. His confession not only represents his step towards sharing his feeling with someone but it also represents his first step towards wanting things for himself and knowing that's okay. His first selfish request was to have Sona in his life, he did not think about anything except his love for her, and how much he wanted her. He can afford to want things now, he can afford to not make sacrifices at every turn and maybe that's why he is so giddy in love. Maybe that's why today he jumped into bed with happiness. Such a childlike action but so endearing. Maybe that's why his inner child is coming out, he is behaving like a kid would after getting the toy they wanted, something Dev never experienced. He never experienced what it's like to have something you wanted.
