Love is unconditional, isn't it

Lovely episode today - and the precap left me smiling, 😃 I'm loving the elegant romance that this serial is turning out to be.

A couple of scenes stood out for me today:

"Love is unconditional" said Sona. Yet for Neha her love for Dev and Ishwari is based on conditions Dev needs to fulfil!!

The two starkly opposing stances struck a strident note of discord. And made me wonder 'why?'. In the immediate Neha's conditions were reason enough to send Dev to Sona's side in the dead of the night. That's good enough for me.

But beyond that it also makes me think that the CVs are slowing down Neha's character growth. That's got to be good news. When Neha's realization of love and acceptance of Ranveer's proposal happened all in one go, I have to admit I was worried that the CVs were rushing the story and what that implied.

But promptly after Neha's dhamaka revelation they've slowed down the pace: speedbreaker 1 was Radharani planting seeds of doubt in Neha's mind about Ranveer's 'real' intentions. Speedbreaker 2 was Neha herself still wanting marriage on her terms (by placing conditions on both Dev and therefore also on Ranveer and his family). Speedbreaker 3 was Neha buying time before Dev takes the proposal to Ranveer. So yes I'm reassured now. There are many more episodes to go before the Neha conundrum is resolved. 😃

Dev will have his work cut out to get Ranveer to accept Neha's terms, and Ranveer will have to be open to compromises that go against his grain - until Neha 'sees the light'. Because that's kinda where this is headed. Being the kind of show it is I'd be surprised if the CVs let Neha mellow too much, but she will most likely either come to terms with bearing and rearing children or living a middle class life. It'll be interesting to see how far the CVs go with this 'taming of the shrew' considering how differently they've sketched Sona.

The other point that stood out for me was the big deal that was made of Sona's intervention re the make of Ranveer's watch being different from Dev's. That intervention was eventually not necessary because Ranveer showed the watch to Dev and Dev said it wasn't his. So a rather lame excuse to win Sona some brownie points from Neha.

So why did they do it? The obvious reason is that Neha will be on Sona's side and play cupid for Sona-Dev when the going gets tough. But it could also be that Neha now uses Sona in the future to iron out any potential issues between herself and Ranveer.

Slowly Dev's family is aligning itself for (Neha) and against (Radharani & son) the Dev-Sona match.

Slightly choppy editing today, but overall I'm loving the pace of the reationships, realizations and of course the romance. 😳😃

Good analysis. I liked how you highlighted some things...
But love isn't actually unconditional is it?
We always pose conditions for the people we love. Including our family. We don't tell what Neha has. I honestly didn't like her yesterday. I mean, she is behaving very stupidly, she knows she can't adjust with Ranveer, and this guy won't agree to that whole rich banana process.
Practically speaking, to a large extent, the financial conditions of two people matters a big deal for them to be married. Background and upbringing and habits go a long way. And what Neha posed to be was a pampered girl she wanted to be by her husband.
Which is perfectly okay. But Neha also needs to work for it. Maybe earn money, living separately in a nuclear family is perfect. But depending on your brother isn't.
But love isn't unconditionally. Like Sonakshi said. We don't give into everything our family asks us to do. But we do make compromises.
Happiness is important but not whims and fancies. Overeating and obesity cannot lead to happiness. 😆
