The opening scene shows Ishwari thinking of Gujral's words as he asked Ishwari for Dev's hand in marriage with his only daughter Natasha .
Maami comes to meet her , she is excited about Dev Natasha wedding, how rich Gujral's family was. Ishwari insists it was more important for the family to be sanskaari rather than rich .
Maami suggests Ishwari to agree to this alliance, but Ishwari is skeptical. She does not want to sell her son for this deal . She wants Dev to take this decision himself . Maami is eyeing the riches that will flow into this family after this alliance .
Dev is annoyed as he was not woken up in time ., He reaches dining hall and Sonakshi calms him and assures he was in time . He regrets not taking sleeping pills and sleeping late, sonakshi says he did not waste time rather he invested his time , Sona is informing him some reports about his mom when Dev's sisters push Sona accidentaly and she falls on Dev , Dev holds Sona , her lipstick makes a mark on his shirt, he scolds his sisters for this action .
Sona feels awkward , maami scolds sona for falling on him , she is anjoyed with her lipstick mark on him . Dev calms every one saying it was just a mark and he will change his shirt .
Neha's english teacher comes home and Ishwari talks to him , likes him and sends neha out with him, maami is annoyed about the young girl going out. Ishwari says they were studying outside .
Dev discusses with Natasha the details of their companies merger, profit sharing etc, they discover they both liked black coffee, they discuss what their parents wishes. Natasha says it was a yes from her side , Dev says he took time to take important decisions and he is stumped at the suddenness, he wants some time , Natz assures him to take as long as he wished ,
Neha returns home and Ishwari is all praises for her academic progress and his good nature .
Neha says she knew him very well he lived in a two room house, where he shared those two rooms with two bhaabhies, two wailing children. It was too cluttered, she did not wish to marry there, she retorts her mother not to be too bothered and force her into wedding , she would not marry in hurry just because her brother wanted to marry .
Ishwari wonders what made neha think she was talking of her marriage ??
Sona is lost in thoughts of Dev, when maami comes to meet her and taunts her about making excuses about being sick, maami then informs her about very affluent family sending wedding proposal for Dev , sona is saddened by this news. She gets restless and is unable to hold back her tears.
She cries for some time , as she is leaving , Dev enters with Natasha , discussing their business,no plans of settling abroad etc dev stops Sonakshi Bose as she is leaving .
Natasha is introduced to Sona and she recognises her as the doc treating Dev's mother , she mentions Dev's was all praises for Sona for his mother's improvement , she then praises he rear rings , stylsh n ethnic , maami comes and taunts that sona's earrings were cheap while Natasha would prefer diamonds and pearls . Sona feels hurt n insulted she leaves quietly .
