Though i want to add, knowing the complexity of Dev's character. He's someone who is not aware what love is... He is only aware of his responsibilities and business... He doesn't think much about his feelings as he's always occupied with his worries for his family and the business... He's still too much into his troubled childhood... He never ever think of himself, his life or his comfort.
With Sona, he has developed a special friendship bond, where he can comfortably share all his feelings to her, which he has never done before. He's over protective and concerned about her. Though he thinks that its because she's his employee and he would have done the same for anyone else. But i can take this explanation in the case of Sona's accident... But he's always concerned about her. On the special dinner with Gujral, he was suppose to sign a 100 crore deal, which is of utmost importance to him and his business. Still he went to check on Sona. There was no need. He could have called her or messaged her. He could have waited for a night and went to her home in the morning. But he didn't think of it for even once.
These all small concerns towards Sona is love. But he doesn't understand it. And one of the main reasons for this is Sona works at his home and he get to see and talk to her everyday. For him to realize what he feels for Sona whether it is friendship or love, they need to be away from eachother for some time. If he'll miss her and will start finding reasons to have her in his office as a nutritionist or make excuses to meet her. Then may be he'll realize that she's special... But still i feel he will need someone to tell him what this special bond is. Or someone will be needed to tell him what love exactly is. And slowly he can figure out whether what he feels for Sona is friendship or love.
