Hearty laughter! A devakshi OS

I hope you like this OS! It's about dev's laugh :)

" I cant believe this tina! Woh aise kaise karsakte hain?" dev angrily asked his personal assistant. Dev had cancelled all his meetings for one client who had ditched him and went on a holiday with their family.

" im sorry sir, unho ne mujhe prior information bhi nahi di thi warna mai aapko bolti" tine replied worriedly.

Dev realizes that it's not tina's fault and apologizes. Maybe he should go home early...his mother and sisters keep nagging him about being at work all the time, he could try and change that! Also, he didn't want to risk maami yelling at Dr. Bose again. He would have none of that. So he heads home.

As he enters his house, he hears chatter and laughter. All three of his sisters are gathered on the dining table waiting for food. They see him and shockingly say " Bhaiya! Aap is waqt ghar? Tina ne job se resign kardiya kya?" riya asked. "Tina ke resignation se mera ghar aane ka kya connection hai?" he asked riya, a bit confused. " agar tina nahi hogi toh aapko kaise pata chalega ki aap ki konsi meeting kab hai. Mujhe laga woh chaligayi toh apko pata nahi hoga" she teased. Dev gave her a straight face and asked where maa was. They tell her that maa and maami had gone to a neighbour's place for pooja and a function. They ask him to join them for lunch and he agrees.

"khaana tayyar hai!!" sona exclaims with a grin as she brings out dishes of food from the kitchen. She notices Dev from accross the room and smiles. " hello, mr. Dixit" she says smilingly and dev reciprocates by greeting her back with a smiley " hi, ms. Bose". Nikki excitingly says " bhaiya aaj ka khana dr. Bose ne banaya hai, kuch healthy aur chatpata sa!". the two look at each other and turn away. Neha asks sona to join them for lunch and she agrees. As they eat, Nikki and riya tell stories from their childhood or college making sona laugh occasionally. She liked listening to them. They made her feel welcome and warm. It was only mr. Dixit who was a bit cold but that was changing too. They were friendlier now. Sona sneaked looks at him as he smiled at his sisters' words.

"Sona di! Aapko pata nahi hai bhaiya kitni shararat karte the! Phir woh mr. Workaholic bangaye... But bhaiya ke saath badmashi karne ka alag maza aata tha kyunki maa bhi nahi daant ti thi. Bhaiya sara blame apne upar lelete the." nikki said excitedly to sona. Sona couldnt believe it. Mr. Aubodhro and naughty? She looks at him as he does and he looks away, nikki goes on about an incident when they were pranking their neighbour and the lady had caught them. She had hit Dev with a wooden spoon as dev tried to save himself. "Nikki!!" dev chided his sister. He didnt want ms. Bose to know about how many times he got beat up. Sona could sense him getting uncomfortable and tried to change the attention to herself.

"Ab mai kuch sunau? Asked sona interrupting nikki, and she strted ro tell them about an incident from when her family had just moved to Delhi. Dev was listening intently as Sona narrated the events. She was a teenager and she had gone to the market with her brother. They had to buy some essentials but her brother had dirched her in the middle of the road and ran over to Parathe wali Gali. Dev who knew saurav could imagine him doing something like that. He couldnt help but grin. Sona continued, " mai ek ghante tak dada ka.intezaar karti rahi market mei aur rone lagi! Aur jab mai ghar paunchi aur maa ko bataya-" but she got interrupted by Dev 's laughter which had burst out of him. He sat at the end of the table and heartily laughed asking sona, " market mei ro rahi thi!!". The 4 ladies sat and watched him laugh. His sisters' mouths were open and they watched him with incredulous expressions. It had been so long since they had sene their brother laugh, that they forgot he could. Sona looked at him endearingly and couldn't help laughing herself. His laughter was infectious. His eyes crinkled and his smile lit up his face when he laughed, making sona feel tingles all over. Dev looked at his sisters who just stared at him amd asked " kya? Aise kyin dekh rahe ho?" and his laughter faded. "bhaiya aap haste hue kitne achhe lagte ho neha said, with her eyes trimming with tears. All three of them looked at him with so much love. Dev's laughter faded and he looked at sona, who looked at him differently than she usually does.

" aap ne apni story complete nahi ki!" nikki said to sona, tearing sona away from her thoughts. " haan, phir humlog ghar ponche aur maa aur baba ne bhaiya ko bohit daanta! Baba toh belan lekar bhaiya ke peeche bhaagre the aur dada ne unhe ghar ke bahar bandh kardiya" sona finished as laughter echoed in the room once again. The 4 siblings were laughing but again, it was Dev's laugh which made the most effect on her. " aapki family bohot amazing hai ms. Bose. Aapki daadi especially, kaafi kiddish hai" he said to her" making Sona smile even more as she thanked him for the compliment. They looked at each other with beaming smiles and timid glances.

Riya addressed Sona and said " aaj aapki life mei ek aur achievement aagayi sona di! Aap ne woh kar dikhaya jo sab ne bohot saalo se koshish ki par kar nahi paaye. Dev bhaiya ko hasaya! Woh bhi do baar!" Sona's cheeks flushed and she smiled at riya thinking to herself that she had achieved it already, the night of the powercut. Nikki had noriced the exchange of smiles and expressions between dev and sona and said " waisa bhaiya, story funny toh thi, par itni funny lagi aapko?" she asked dev teasingly. Dev replied " tu mili nahi hai na ms. Bose ki famiky se, milti toh shayad tujhe bhi lagti." he responded.

"paar aap kab mile un sab se? Asked neha and dev realized thathe had messed up. He hadn't told anyone about the birthday party and sona knew. There was no point in.lying thought dev as he told them the truth.

His sisters oohed and aahed and soon, they all left the dining table.

Sona was in the kitchen preparing lists but hardly concentrating. Dev's laughter echoed in her ears. She stared into the distance and smiled. Dev enterred the kitchen and saw ms. Bose smiling. He liked it when she smiled. Her pretty eyes were unfocused and glazed like she was in deep thought. He stood beside her and cleared his throat. Sona snapped out her thoughts and looked at him. He stood leaning on the counter near her. " waise aapko nahi lagta ki humei officially friends banjana chaahiye?" he asks her and extends his hand. Sona, perplexed, lays her hand in his. "Dev" he says with a smile. "Sonakshi" she replies. " aap kitchen mei?" added sona to which dev replied " mera kitchen hai. Aur mujhe coffee chahiye thi." Sona looks down, then at him and says " aapko itni coffee nahi peeni chahiye, insomnia ho sakta hai. Dev looks her, leans towards her and whispers, maybe coffee bhi ek bahana tha, aur mujhe sirf aapse milna tha". Sona looks at him, surprised, a blush creeps up her cheek and she remembers it's the same thing he did to dance with her.

" aap bahano ke zariya bohot kuch karte hain. Kabhi baatein, kabhi dance" sona replied with a smirk, teasing him. " arre! Agar mai aapse us party mei kehta ki please mere saath dance kariya toh kya ap karti?" he asks her.

"shayad haan. Kyunki mujhe aap par taras aajata. Minister ki ladhki ko aapko stamp karte hue dekhke" she replies and they laugh. He chuckles and looks at her. There was a new level of comfort between them. In which even silence seemed like a conversation. "Mujhe kaam hai" says sona and dev nods. "Mujhe bhi" he says. He turns and walks away from the kitchen but stops, turns around and says " Sonakshi bohit lamba naam hai...see you later, Sona.." he smiles and heads to his room. Sona smiles and continues making her lists.

Nikki slowly got up from the sofa on which she was lying down. It was just below the open window to the kitchen and had heard everything. She tip toed away before sona could see her. She was shocked but excited about what had just happened. Dev bhaiya and Sona Di dancing? Ye kab hua? Aur dosti kab hui? Aur dev bhaiya kab se ladhkio se itni baatein karne lage? Her mind whizzed through a million bemusings but one thing she was sure of. Sometheing was cooking. Her brother was changing for the good and sona di had something to do with it.
