My thoughts on Post Leap!

Having watched yesterday’s Crime Patrol and today’s Divya Drishti (thrice already), and given some deep thoughts to Patiala Babes too - I come to look at the discussions in KCL…

But of course, when I think about KCL I would have to write… so I make a new thread (it’s been a while since I made a new thread) and I randomly write my thoughts on post leap era…

If it was a book, the introduction to a new Radhay character would have intrigued me… who was he, why was he, where did he come from… if he’s real, why was he gone for 5 years… why did he not try to figure out who he was (if he had lost his memory)… so so many questions… it would have been so exciting, so many dynamics with so many characters would’ve opened up… and eventually, all the dynamics would’ve made sense…

We might all hate Ekta Kapoor’s dramas but you need to give her credit where it is due… she’s a master at choosing the right actor for her characters. The whole reason this Radhay is not working is that he’s a weak actor. Imagine this character to be played by Ronit Roy or any of the stronger actors, this Radhay would’ve drawn the much-needed attention. I wish the makers would’ve called back the original Radhay instead as a look-alike and created a whole different track… At the original Radhay had a better charm than this current one!

I don’t personally think this track is as bad, the problem exists with the actor. Also, there are now so many dynamics that need to be explored, so many relationships… There are mothers - Sunaina and Shuklain - looking for their sons who are eyeing the only female lead in the show… Then there is Shukla who is looking for a gain in all this fiasco. Then there is Bela Rani and co. who has a new mission - prove this Radhay is fake. There is also Naini and Shashank, now being used as props only (I wish they get some proper dialogues and scenes!).

The new Radhay, himself, brings so many questions which obviously be answered eventually… who brought him back, why, if he is real Radhay where was he for 5 years. If he lost his memory 5 years ago, then why did he not try to find who he was. How and where did he learn all this English… And the DNA. If he’s fake, who is so powerful and has so many connections that the DNA report was manipulated in London and India! Definitely, not Shukla and I don’t think Sunaina has so many connections if she did she could’ve done some for Veer 5 years ago… Which bring me to another point - whoever planted Radhay - why did he/she wait for 5 years…

Does anyone remember the first few episodes of new Radhay? In one of the scenes, he runs on a wheelchair claiming/screaming that Veer is coming to kill him. How does Radhay know its Veer who caused the accident? Radhay was so involved in his phone call with Krishna he never saw the car coming and when he fell his face was away from the car, and Veer never got out of the car - so how does he know? If the argument is that he found that out by looking at CCTV and/or police help… why wait 5 years before going back to his Krishna?

Then there is this sudden obsession with Krishna. Yes, the original Radhay was obsessed and madly in love with Krishna but he also gave her (limited) space. He never creeped her (or us) out. He respected family - both hers and his. The new Radhay might have a few memories of original Radhay but the personality is totally different!

Krishna has changed, over the years. I am hoping that eventually her journey in these five years would be shown… her struggles, her feelings, her coldness… And I want an answer to why did she not file for divorce. She claims she hates him, refuses to use his surname, does not wear mangalsutra or sindoor, then why is she still legally his wife! I want bua or her dad raising that question, and I am somewhere certain this question shall be raised when the time comes.

Veer, on the other hand, has not really changed. I wish he had. Jail changes you, says every prisoner… so why hasn’t Veer? Although, during the precap, I felt he has become nicer to patients… I hope to get some insight on this on Monday’s episode.

My last thoughts on this track are:

This is not as bad a track… my only hope is the actor improves his acting skills. This track has a lot of potentials and I hope it is explored well…. There are way too many dynamics that can be explored from this track alone… I look forward to the upcoming episodes - with better acting from the new Radhay! I am hoping that the future episodes will give us more reasons to analyze and comment… at least give me more material to write on… But I am okay with the pace at the moment… they needed this to set the base…

Aneeqa, I completely agree with you especially, with the acting skills of new Radhey. Plus, I too want to see the struggle of Krishna. There are many things which needs to be shown but they aren't showing them, I understand, they are focusing on one track at a time but I would have been happier if they show all the things in parallel because just one track of this fake Radhey with bad acting is making people bore. I hope, they show much better things with good execution like they did earlier.

I think Renee, they're trying to finish off the remaining IPL... since playoffs and the final is usually the most important matches - men/fans may agree to not watch a few regular matches but they're not going to miss out on the playoffs! So they're setting the base. We know their usual pace... I'm hopeful that once the dust settles (IPL ends) the pace might increase... although the World Cup is coming... so I don't know...

Also, maybe since a lot of people were not very happy with the pace they might have slowed it down to make those people happy! This is my guess though based on that extra long stare of Krishna and Veer!

The Radhay needs to improve his acting skills for sure!

I agree the track has potential...add to your list Veer's jealousy to see his wife with someone else...and also maybe a courtroom drama on who is her legal husband now! They could explore so much.

And the actor playing FR. He is as unapealing as an actor can be. No screen presence...n terrible performance. Gaurav Sareen was heaven compared to this guy.

I feel the screenplay needs to improve as well. Despite all the potential, every episode is so boring that I fastforward most of it n watch only KrishVeer scenes where they are staring at each other.

I feel the actor playing FR looks lazy and confused. And I hate his whining😬. I understand it’s his job but it is giving me headache and is going overboard.

As you said somebody needs to question Krishna why she has not filed for divorce when she hates Veer. I want to see what she has to say.

The track is good but I get annoyed seeing FR acting. We have talented actors and I hope the actor playing FR starts learning and develop his acting skills. He needs to give a tough competition against KV & the rest of the Team.

As for jealousy, I am not too sure, so far Veer is not jealous... and he's very comfortable because he knows his place in Krishna's life... Jealousy would rise if someone like Dr Ayan comes back... Or real Radhay... so not sure if that would be shown or not... but yes, the courtroom drama or otherwise on who is her legal husband...

I still feel that if the acting improves the screenplay is not as bad... I don't even feel like watching those 2 minutes of looking into one another's eyes moment of Krishna Veer... I liked their earlier romance... this looks like forced, thrown into your face because of demand kind of romance!

I completely agree that the actor who plays FR is dragging this track down. One thing this show is blessed with is amazing actors (even Bela - she’s OTT, but at least there’s no shortage of expressions with her). Which is why this fake Radhe’s lack of ability to emote stands out even more. Literally the only expressions we’ve seen from him are: confused, whiny, angry, and childish. I really, really hope he improves soon, especially once his true colors are revealed. After today, there is no longer any doubt that he is an impostor, so that revelation is eventually coming.

I think the question of why Krishna didn’t divorce Veer is an interesting one, and it’s one I hope the writers really explore. Interestingly, in the scene today when even Buaji was expressing the possibility that this Radhe might be real, Krishna seemed conflicted. Not only because she’s trying to figure out the mystery of this fake Radhe, but also because I think she’s starting to wonder what if he really is real? What does that mean for her relationship with Veer? And is she really ready to let Veer go, no matter what she might say? After all, she hasn’t divorced him, so she has chosen to continue to be married to him. Is she ready for this Radhe to separate her from Veer? Maybe I read too much into her expression, but I hope these questions are raised by the writers sooner rather than later.

As for Veer not being changed by jail, I think we have yet to see fully how he might have changed. We got a glimpse of it today when he was treating the young girl - he seems to be more humble and gentle than he used to be. But he does still have his old confidence (that we saw with Krishna) and impatience (that we saw with the young girl today). I hope as this track goes on, we see how/why both Krishna and Veer have changed, and that they both have the chance to understand these changes in each other as well. Especially how Krishna has changed, because hers is more drastic over the past 5 years.
