Today it was abhi's nose that got cut...thanks to Thols and her avasara buddhi, most definitely not in this order.

sagalai gaandam-
A moneylender yells at the doorstep of the local maattu kottagai, in charge of Alamelu. Vidya is a silent spectator. He keeps asking/demanding for his money and Alms says she will return it next month. He is adamant that he will not move without collecting his dues.
Who else but our Gaana-Rajesh comes there in his auto with his varaaga avataara friend piggy-backing on him/his auto. Rajesh steps in and supports Alms...nice-aa sandhula sagalai family-kku support kuduthu, ottikkalaamnu he thinks. He asks if the guy knows who Rajesh is...and his contacts. And is the guy from Saidapet or somewhere? if so, does he know sangili murugan, cycle chain chinnappa, veecharuvaa vengattu, blade bannaaru and the likes who are very intimately known to Rajesh? This moneylender asks if Rajesh is threatening him (ivan endha lOgathula irukkaanO) and Rajesh says enough peela is enough and just because he knows the above well-respected citizens of the chEri gumbal, doesn't mean they know him..(he pulls a Vivek on them) but he wants to settle things amicably. So, borrows time for Alms, sorry alams.. He asks Alamelu akka when she would be able to repay the loan and what was the main reason she borrowed in the first place? she answers that she didn't have money, hence she borrowed. Eureka! shouts Rajesh (it was more like yE yakka!), see, that is the reason she borrowed and turning to her he asks, so do you have money now? she answers no and he says that if she had borrowed money because she didn't have any, how do you expect her to have money..?(now he pulls a kaundamani-sendhil on them).
anyway, he requests yakka to keep the money ready next month and asks the guy to leave them in peace. Basker comes by and finds out what happened and Alms praises Rajesh to no end...Rajesh brushes it all aside and says, namma sagalaikku itha kooda paNlaina epdi? (adiyE-ngaradhukku pondaati kidaiyaadhu indha rendu dhadi pasangaLukkum, idhukkuLLa enna sagalai vEndi irukku?) He says how come Basker, who is now employed in Abhi's place where lakhs of money overturns every day, is unable to crop up this paltry loan? Alms takes up this cause and asks Basker the same. Basker says as long as Thols is there, they will not have any in with Abhi. Even now, Abhi reprimanded him when he said something against Thols and even said that Thols was going to marry Anandhi.

both sagalais come out with a brilliant plan of stopping this from happening. Hardy says they should go talk to Abhi against Thols; he feels that Thols was the prime cause of his breakup with Abhi. and turns to Laurel and tells him, even in his case, didn't he harbor Arthi in his house when she left him? if he hadn't, maybe Arthi would have stayed with him. (poor guys, they don't know how Thols mind works...he has Shanthi for cooking and he needed a tall person for cleaning, reaching up to the ceiling and who else but Arthi fit the bill?) Baasha gets really excited and says, I did not think like this...(he should take the age-old lie detector test - when he said 'think', it would gone buzz..........)ok, you lead and I will follow. Alms is all worked up now...

Sneha makes chappathi (wonderful ones) while her daughter is dancing...(sorry, got so attached to the story and its kiLai kadhaigaL, i thought this was also one) but it proved to be a commercial for aashirvaad aataa.

abinaya gaandam-

Abhi gets down from an auto (leaves with bag and baggage without paying - do they have pre-paid autos in chennai now?) and walks in an open house...(all houses in serials are open - indha open house policy is scary, considering the number of kolai/koLLais going on - but to help us, none of these gumbals go these open houses)...She calls out for Arthi, mom comes out, and then chithi comes in and abhi welcomes her. Mom wonders why chithi is here and then a priest comes...first he was Sami then he turned to iyer. Abhi asks 'Sami' to go inside (mind you, all the other family members are assembled in the front hall and the Sami just goes inside....in one of the doors - where?) and stops Mano from going outside and tells him that a nalladhu is going to happen here. 'nalla kaalam porakkudhu, nalla kaalam porakkudhu' says abhi and anu also watches. KKK again asks what and abhi says, surprise? we are going to fix anandhi-Thols wedding date..that is why i bought all these fruits and snacks. Arthi says why now when Anandhi is away? (ahaa, she is in kodaikkaanal with the payithiyam - maybe abhi gets season tickets there - take mad-dies one by one to be cured - did mahesh accompany them? or will it be a new psycho (logist) now?

Abhi says, why not? this was determined long back and now we are just setting the date officially. Anandhi had some important work and so had to go. Mom asks how abt Thols and Abhi says, he is expected. Mano is happy and Anu is skeptical..(indha veetula enna dhaan ozhungaa nadandhirukku - look? inwardly she is gloating that at least with anandhi being married and gone, one less body to thaandhufy in her midnight water/snack forays to the kitchen). chithi is happy. Thols enters and is being asked to sit. He asks what was the reason behind this urgent summons? Abhi lets him on the surprise and he is really surprised. He asks why now when anandhi is away? and dhidu dhipnu? (same dialog uttered by KKK earlier) Abhi gives the same reply as above and Thols says, let us wait for Anandhi.

Meanwhile, our Hardy enters and sees the big crowd. Abhi welcomes him and he fibs and says he wants her signature on a check and Abhi, without seeing anything, signs a check..(wish alms was here, she would have happily filled an amt and flown away to California, with uppu....probably married vidya off to uppu for his earning potential and learn a movement or two from him for free)

She then asks him to sit..(ivaLai chumma odhaichaa kooda pOraadhu, dhimsu kattaiyaala pOdanum - why formalities and this hangup over busky?) and he says, looks like all of them are busy and also, sagalai no.2 is in the streets. Arthi perks up at this...(ha! i get to see my husband) and she is inside Shanthing...(making coffee). now this can be used as a verb within kolangal.
Abhi asks Hardy to go bring Laurel inside and he dutifully goes out. He makes Rajesh shed his auto coat and avataar also wants to come in. Rajesh stops him and walks inside with Basker.

Now Abhi asks Thols why we cant proceed without anandhi and that she will be ok with it and thols says, after adding and subtracting all things, he figures it is best that this marriage isn't meant to be. SHOCK! abhi's nose starts bleeding...(from the cut) and KKK is stunned. She extols the virtues of anandhi..at least Arthi is vaayaadi and speaks without thinking but anandhi is a gem of a person and no one can find fault with her. So, avaLidam enna kutram kandeer? andha kutrathirku thagundhaarpOl, seerai sErthu kodukkirOm...sorry, i digress. Thols says anandhi is a good girl and now Abhi thinks that the earlier incidents in office is the cause for this withdrawal. Thols assures that he has never mistaken abhi or her intentions but he feels that such a join with anandhi would not be in the best interests of both and there are other mitigating factors that he is not at that moment, able to reveal. KKK again says, apart from that one instance where she fell in love and then things went wrong, (boy, is she going to flip when she hears that wachO karthik is still a part of anandhi's life), anandhi is pure as snow. Thols again insists that he has facts that he cannot talk about and one day he will and says sorry. Basker rises as the phoenix and says what does Thols think of himself and how can he upset Abhi? Thols stops him and says this is none of his business and asks him to shut up. Basker says it is indeed his business, when abhi has done so much to his family, it is his duty to speak up for her. Thols again stops him and Basker says, sorry to abhi and says that he spoke out of turn, for her good and walks out, followed by Baasha. Thols also apologizes once more and leaves. Abhi is stunned.

Sneha makes soft chappathis and her daughter dances once again...sorry, aashirvaad attaa again.

sarakku gaandam...

a seedy sarakku establishment. Laurel and Hardy are 'full' of it; and Basker is upset that Thols stole the rug from under them. He feels that Thols withdrawing, even though beneficial to them, took the onus from them and they were left with nothing to do. He swears vengeance and says Baasha has to support him. Baasha says he is after all an autowala and has no tricks up his sleeve, except a bottle or two and also that he can sing gaana paattu...(i was wishing for him to sing but no, he did not. if uppu can dance, why cant Rajesh sing?) He asks Basker for directions. They show avataar near them, gobbling up food. Basker says, first thing, they have to break abhi-thols partnership at work and outlines his plan, in silent mode.

July 18th Update

First scene

Ganga at her home reading a book and Uma (her sister) comes in and asks her to come to the temple with her. Ganga waxes philosophically about how there is no God and how come Uma is still believing in God after he has not lifted a finger to help her with her husband or father. Uma manages to convince her and they both leave for the temple

Next scene

Thols is seen talking to another person. Bhaskar, Rajesh and his friend walk up to him and all of them are drunk. Bhaskar questions Thols about why he was not willing to marry Anandhi and Thols refuses to answer his questions. Bhaskhar then makes dirty insinuations that Thols is now after Abhi as she is rich and that is why he does not want to marry Anandhi. Bhaskar and Thols get into a fist fight, Bhaskar is hurt and all of them along with Rajesh and his friend go away vowing to take vengeance against Thols.

Next scene

Uma and Ganga in the temple. Uma is seen praying while Ganga is seen well doing nothing except lecture Ganga as to how the Lord is not helping Uma in her pitiable situation!! Coffemaker Shanti and her daughter arrive and all of them politely say hi, hello. Into this scene enters the villan, the man who wanted to learn music from Uma but ended up wanting something else all together from her!! (Remember that creepy guy, sorry didn't get his name) This man goes into the temple and the pujari does mariyadhai to this man by putting a shawl around his shoulder. Ganga demands one too and accuses the man as being a dirty old person. The old man walks away furiously, and now it is his turn to swear revenge on Ganga. Uma tells Shanti that Ganga is actually a very good person by heart "Ana pesathan theriyadhu" She then is full of praise for Thols and says that Ganga is very lucky that Thols likes her, however Ganga has not responded to Thols feelings yet. Shanti looks shocked

Bhaskars house

Bhaskar and Rajesh come in and as usual Alamelu starts her ranting and raving when she sees Bhaskar hurt. She starts hammering at Rajesh and he tries to escape by saying that Thols was the one who was responsible for Bhaskar's condition. All three of them complain and plot about how to take revenge on Thols.

July 19th update

Thols is sitting all by himself looking lonely and unhappy. Shanti comes up to him and says that she is going out. Thols asks where and she says she is going to meet the house owner as remember, it is the 1st of the month. Shanti picks on him and says that Thols is very preoccupied of late. Thols asks Shanti to be quiet saying that he is already very upset with the happenings in Abhi's house and that she should not add to his grief. Shanti wants to know why he refused to marry Anandhi and Thols does not answer.

Shanti is seen talking to the owner of the house and in comes Alamelu amma in Rajesh's auto. Alamelu on seeing Shanti goes off at her screaming and ranting and in general criticising Thols and making ugly insinuations about his relationship with Abhi and Shanti. She also tells the house owner not to rent the house to people like Thols.

Ganga is at her home and Uma does a Shanti here (Brings coffee for Ganga!). Uma is all praise for Thols and says how he would be the perfect husband for Ganga. Ganga says that she likes Thols but was not willing to marry him as she is not the most important person in Thols life. She says that Abhi is equally important to him and that was something she could not tolerate. She says that if Thols was willing to severe all relationships with Abhi then she would marry him.

Chittappa's house

Chittappa is gloating over the fact that Thols has refused to marry Anandhi and how it serves Abhi right. Chitti as usual is angry and Satish and his wife are mutely standing by. The thillu mullu guy who took Satish to Andhra to do thirutu business comes in and asks Chittappa to do the same business with him in another state. Chittappa refuses and thillu mullu leaves. Satish asks why chittappa refused and chittappa says that he does not want to share the looty that he gets from this thirutu business so has decided that he will do this business all by himself. Thillu Mullu hears this and swears revenge.

Giri comes in with another guy and Adhi is seen playing billiards with who else but Rekha! Giri introduces the other guy as a broker who wants to sell 10 flats very close to Rajamani's site. Adhi wants to buy them all and instructs Giri to pay 5 lakhs as advance. Giri proudly says how the guy wanted to sell the flats to Abhi but he cleverly lured him away so he could make his offer to Adhi. Adhi then gets a brilliant idea (!) to get Abhi in trouble. He asks the broker to sell the flats to Abhi. Abhi would buy it but Adhi would not let her complete the job as he will create an issue in the site by bribing some flat owners. Giri is doubtful if the plan would succeed but Adhi says that Abhi is now facing problems at her own office with her tussle with Thols and that with Bhaskar's help he would be able to create problems for Abhi….

Update for Thursday July 20th

Rajesh comes to Abhi's home with his friend. He hesitates at the entrance but his friend urges him to go in. Rajesh walks in and Anu is all kush and welcomes him happily. Mano joins them and Anu goes off to get some coffee for Rajesh. As they chit chat Aarti comes in and taunts Rajesh asking if he was here to take someone for a drive in his auto or was he planning to be a witness to someone's marriage. Rajesh tries to ignore her but Aarti keeps going on and on. Rajesh at last says that he was here to invite the newlyweds for a virundhu and says that if Aarti could cook for them he would be happy to help in serving (What the??? Where did this come from?) Aarti says if she did so, Kala would start her polambal and she was tired of it all. Rajesh swears that nothing of that sort would happen (And pray, how can he say that, has he or anyone else for that matter managed to shut Kala up??) Aarti says that she has not had a minute's sandosham since her marriage to Rajesh and that she just wanted him to go back and live a happy, married life with Sundari. Anu joins them now with cups of coffee. Rajesh reiterates his invitation to Anu asking them to come for virundhu but Aarti says that they would not come. Anu as usual contradicts her but Aarti shuts her up. Aarti then kicks Rajesh out. Mano as usual takes up for Rajesh and confronts Aarti as to how she could behave that way; Aarti says that she has her pride even though it is obvious that Mano has none.

Next scene

Ganga is at her home shown rummaging through a cupboard only to find an empty bottle of beer. She goes after the culprit who else then her dear brother-in-law. BIL is seen talking to his wife demanding money and Uma is saying that she does not have any. Ganga confronts him with the beer bottle and he of course denies, saying it was not him. BIL then changes his tune saying how he drank to drown his sorrows and how if he had a job he would work sincerely, support his family, blah, blah, blah. Ganga of course does not believe him and walks away saying that if he was a sincere husband and a father he would do any menial job to support his family

Next scene

Abhi is seen talking to another guy demanding that the job be finished by this week. The guy tries to explain there might be a delay but she fires back saying that he either delivers or she would find someone else for the job. This paavam fellow agrees and goes away. Krishnan Sir walks in and Abhi asks where Bhaskar is. Krishnan Sir very mournfully says that Bhaskar would not come in from now on (Amma periya loss idhu!! Ivar romba thaan feel pannaranga!!) He explains how Bhaskar went to ask "Nyayam" from Thols for going back to his promise on marrying Anandhi and how Thols was so furious he beat Bhaskar up along with his goonda friends Maari and gang. Abhi looks grim and we now shift to the next scene

Abhi's house

Chitti is there as usual consoling a heartbroken Karpagam, this time about the demise of Anandhi's and Thols union. Chitti then tells Karpagam she is here to invite Mano and Aarti to her home for virundhu. Chitti tells Anu that Chittappa wants them to come to their home for a virundhu and invites both Mano and Anu and then leaves. Anu walks away along with Mano and tells Mano that she would not go to Chitti's house. Now our resident eavesdropper Aarti walks in and asks Anu why she was refusing the invitation. Anu retorts saying that when Rajesh Anna issued the same invitation Aarti was against it so why did she want them to go to Chitti's house. Aarti says that Rajesh is not Anu's real Anna and if her brother Adhi came and invited Anu & Mano to his house (Yeah! I can see that happening!) she was free to go. Mano as usual butts in and they start fighting again. Karpagam shuts Aarti up and tells Anu that chitti has been a big help for their family and leaves the choice to them as to whether they want to go or not.

Abhi at Bhaskar's house

Abhi walks in with Krishnan Sir and Alamelu as usual starts off saying that Abhi is the one who has given Thols so much freedom and that is why Thols is behaving in such a high-handed manner. Bhaskar tells Abhi how he wanted to help her and that is why he went to Thols and asked him why he was refusing to marry Anandhi. He tells Abhi that since she has helped him so much he wanted to return the favour (With friends like these who needs enemies!!) He says that nowadays Thols does not behave properly to which Krishnan Sir agrees and that just because Bhaskar was drunk Thols had no right to beat him up along with his goonda gang Mari. Vidya now comes in with coffee for them all(What is it with this serial and coffee...) Alamelu goes inside and Abhi goes up to her dearly departed FIL's photo and is seen looking at him….

Friday July 21

Ganga and Uma walking and Uma and Ganga having some inane conversation (Probably something which was important, wouldn't know as I tune out when I see Ganga on the screen! If someone knows please fill in)

An elderly man is shown trying to load a heavy bag on his tricycle. Uma's husband is walking by and the elderly man asks him for help. Uma's husband refuses, listing his sterling qualities to this elderly man and basically saying that he is too good for this kind of menial work. He sees Uma and Ganga approaching, does an about turn he takes off his cooling glasses and shirt to the elderly man, grabs his bag and proceeds to load them. Ganga looks at him with suspicion. Uma gets all emotional wanting to know why her dear husband is doing such a lowly job. Hubby responds saying that no one will give him a respectable job at an office and he has to resort to such jobs to support his family. Ganga is unsure if he is sincere and walks away. Hubby says that if Ganga wants he can get a job in his office, the good wife says that she will talk to Ganga and persuade her to find him a job.

Interrogation of Thols

Abhi, Bhaskar, Thols and Krishnan Sir in Abhi's office. Abhi wants to know about the fight between Thols and Bhaskar. Thols says that he does not want to discuss it further. Abhi pushes him further and Thols says that Bhaskar demeaned him and so he reacted that way. Abhi questions the presence of Maari & Gang. Krishnan Sir says that they were now employees of Abhi Constructions. Abhi is shocked and tells Thols that they should not be here and if people found that Abhi Constructions was hiring rowdies then her name will be ruined. Thols says that Maari & gang were only protecting him as people were behaving like animals. Bhaskar immediately jumps up and they get into another argument. Abhi decides not to go any further with her questions and drops the matter.

Guru's house (Guru is Rajesh's friend)

Alamelu, Rajesh and Vidya all in Guru's house. Guru's mother is thanking Alamelu for her help in the ponnu pakkara ceremony for her daughter. Vidya and Sundari are helping the girl get dressed.

The bridegroom party arrives. After some introductions and small talk the girl comes in with Vidya and Sundari. Alamelu asks the groom to take a good look at the girl. After a lot of staring from the groom the guy says he likes the girl next to the bride (i.e Vidya) The girl's mother starts yelling saying at the groom while Alamelu proudly says that they are from a very good family. Guru's mother decides to get nasty now and says how the whole town knows that Vidya and a boy are seen together all over the place. Alamelu is now furious and rants and raves. Guru's mother kicks the bridegroom party out of the house.

Vidya runs home in tears, locks herself in a room and starts tying a knot with a saree around her neck (obviously trying to hang herself) Alamelu is pounding on the door and Bhaskar and Krishnan Sir come in. Bhaskar is shown knocking at the door yelling at Vidya to open it. Last shot is of Vidya's feet at the edge of the stool….

Update friday 21st from suntv blog

KOLANGAL
Uma;s husband passing by is asked by an old cart puller th help him load the rice bags . Acting on a strategy he loads the bags. Uma and Ganga passing by notice this. Uma is moved to see her husband toiling hard. Ganga on the other hand is happy that for once he is doing some work. Uma asks him why he is doing this he says hard work is what Ganga advised him ask her to get a job for him in her office after they leave he ditches the old man and walks away. Tholkapian comes to work Abhi asks him what is all this fight about Thols says Bhasker said unmentionable words and the workers around went and attacked him. Finding these workers are not their staff she questions how are they in their site. Thols they are the people who had helped during the bomb scare and other times so they are working. Abhi refuses to take that argument and says they should not be working here. She tells Thols that he is a puzzle to her these days. Alamelu arranges a boy meeting girl affair for Rajesh's friends's sister. The boy does not like the girl but likes Bhasker's sister. Alamelu gets angry at him and showers abuses. Bhasker's sister runs away from the spot. She goes home and tries to hang herself. Alamelu and later Bhasker try to force open the door but she hangs herself.

Alamelu mangathaa puram.

Alamu, Basker and Krishnan bang on the door and Vidya momentarily clutches her eyes closed and then Alamu threatens that she too would follow suit and so fearing her mom's presence with her in heavenly abode, Vidya reconsiders. She opens the door and Basker and Alamu threaten to kill her for the stunt she pulled. didn't they just stop her for that? maybe they want to do the good deed themselves and not give her credit. Alams then explains to Basker that namma veettu kavarimaan oru sol porukka maattaamal, went to this extreme. All coz of that edupatta paya Rajesh. She says Guru's mom talked ill abt Vidya's character. Krishnanukku aval kidacha maadhiri. He wants a full explanation. Alamu goes in detail abt Vidya being promised to a USA maapLai for 25 lakhs and how they could cough up only 10 and then their status changed and they are yet to give 15 lakhs..(indha kaalathula ippadi pEsaradhukkE dowry charges irukkum) and meanwhile, one day a thief came into their house looking for some fast cash...(fast and hot cow dung, i can understand coz of the cows, but fast cash? - aanaalum romba doop - and Krishnan keeps nodding disbelievingly in the back) and happened to talk to Vidya and Alamu chased him off with a broomstick. and how this has fact has taken so many turns and now Vidya is accused of harboring her secret boyfriend. Krish sir konjam logicOda, asks 'ok, then ur status was diff. u could promise all that; but in this current situation, the prudent thing would be to get back that 10 L and get a groom to befit their position now. (alamu and vidya give a mental shudder at this - a good maaplai at their present position would target the likes of Guru and his potential maaplai).

Now Alamelu takes out her alpaasthiram...(indha alpaasthirathukku munnaala andha NarayananE vandha idathukku sathamilla pOyittar, indha krishnan emmaathram?) Alams says that how can that be? we have to get Vidya married to that guy only. otherwise, en maanam will be gone. that can never happen. Basker tries to reason but of no avail. Basker says he doesn't have the means; Alamu says things are diff now..Her marumaga is very rich and can finish this sammandam. In fact, didn't his dad extract a promise from abhi that she will take care of all the members in this house? so, if only Basker asks abhi, she would do the needful and get vidya married off to that USA guy. Basker says enough is enough, Abhi has done a lot and it is wrong to ask her for more. Even this she is doing out of her good heart. But Alamu wouldn't hear of it. she polambufies that she will die with her daughter if this marriage doesn't take place.
Krishnan also tells Basker that his position has improved so much now in the company and takes him aside to Odhufy something in his ears.(paNam pOdhaamal oru naaLum irukka vEndaam; Thols pollaappu illaamal irukka vEndaam)

Second segment was an utter bore.
anu-arthi ladai - Anu goes and soaks some of her clothes and this Arthi idiot goes and adds some of her color bleeding clothes. Anu comes back, sees that her clothes have been bled on, gets mad and confronts Arthi. Arthi says so what? then Anu says you should have done it in a separate bucket. Arthi says, if I had known it had your clothes, I wouldn't have put mine in there. Anu says, ok, what is wrong with my clothes and Arthi says they are nasty. KKK is listening to this from the kitchen. Anu says, nasty? I am from a rich family and Arthi mimics her and says, all of them know abt her; how she is only a maid's daughter and to take this rich girl talk somewhere where it will be believed. Anu is hurt beyond words and KKK comes and shouts at Arthi. Anu runs to her room with tears and KKK says as such, andha poNNu has been hurt by this talk and now Arthi is also being inconsiderate. and accuses of Arthi of having a fatty mouth..(vai kozhuppu jaasthi). Arthi says anu deserved that.

This loser of a husband (Uma's) is standing outside a bar, waiting for handout money to go buy some bottles. A guy with him gives him money (they are tired of waiting for a podiyan to do the job) and TTSIL goes to a wine shop,buys a couple of bottles and chips. Nearing the bar, he sees Uma coming with their kids, on the way back home from school. Uma sees him with vasthu in hand, frowns and says, she genuinely thought that he had changed when he lifted sacks the other day but now this? TTSIL says that even now he is doing a job in the bar; he is the edupidi for folks coming to drink. He, who once upon a time, mingled with the rich and famous in the trendy bars has now resorted to this. Uma dimwit believes him instantly and has tears in her eyes at his plight. The guy says, if only Ganga can get him a job with Abhi constructions (even he has understood that only Abhi const. is the only company that employes losers like him) with a 4 digit salary, he would be rid of such menial jobs. Uma promises to talk to Ganga. After she leaves, the guy goes and tells his friend that he had to act for his wife's sake.

now comes the varutha kozhi part.

Anu and Mano are being served virundhu by chithappu and he is very hospitable. He asks his wife to serve them more leg pieces or something. and says he is yet to see a docile girl like Anu. Anu is all smiles. If someone is called for virundhu, isn't it customary of the housemates to join them? or did they eat in advance? here only A and M are eating while the rest are watching. (btw, thuNukku - that devanand guy is still acting as the loser son) Chithapa says ever since his elder brother left his family, it is him who has been taking good care of them but inspite of that, his aNNi has managed to bring up losers. Abhi, lost her marriage and maybe now she is up in life but for how long? Anu and Mano are uncomfortable. Chithi tries to stop Chithapu but he doesn't oblige. He then says Anandhi has been brought up like a man with no respect for anyone and her life is also in shambles. nothing more can be said abt Arthi, who ran away and then left her husband and came back. (anu smiles inwardly at this arthi dig). chithi interrupts but chithappu cannot be stopped. he says even Mano is not smart until he married anu, which is the smartest thing he did in life. Mano has stopped eating completely and chithappu asks him to eat.
after this, they take the blessings and are given new clothes. Chithappa leads them outside to their pre-paid car and asks Anu to call him for any help anytime.

AFter they leave, son asks dad why he was being so courteous to Anu and he says, all said and done, she is a koteeshwaran family girl. so what if things are not ok now, very soon, when they divvy up the sothu, she will get a huge share and it is always in our best interest if we maintain a good relationship with her, so we can take that sothu from her. Chithi accuses him saying why desire for someone else's wealth? he tells her that he lost his wealth to someone and so it is perfectly logical to go after someone else's in order to regain. Chithi says that is why u never prosper and is being sent inside. Son asks dad what if they dont give Anu any share since she is a maid's daughter? dad says, so what, in that case, I will play devil's advocate and hers and fight for her share and get it for myself.

Monday 24th July

Alamelu, bhaskar and krishnan continue to bang on the door.. she doesnt open it for a while but tries to hang herself, but after a bit she looses the courage and opens the door herself. Everybody scolds her nice except alamelu who says that she is rooshakari like her thats why she tried to hang herself and not take shame like normal people. She screams at bhaskar for bringing them all into this nillamae..

Uma's looser husband is in front of a bar with his friend to drink thanni, but the boy to bring sarraku is MIA so he offers to go buy it and takes the money and leaves. When he is finished buying and comes out he sees uma and kids passing by there and she spots him with sarakku...as he is the decieving kind..he tells her that he is working in the bar to make money and he has stopped drinking and stuff and does all the drama. He friends shouts out for him and he tells her customer is calling and he needs to go...and tells her when he will start getting 4 digits salary he will be good and doesnt have to do these stuff. He goes back to his friend and when he asks for change he tells her that his kid is sick so his wife took some money from hi,so no change

Anu soaks her pink sarree into a bucket to wash, aarthi right behind her comes and soaks her dress too and aits to read a magzine...anu comes back to wash it and finds out that her pink saree is now blue in color and as usual they both fight and aarthi tells her she is a vellakari ponnu. KKK comes and scolds aarthi for her behaviour.

Anu and Mano go to chitti veedu for virundhu and eat well and his chittappa starts his ramayana about abhi's family. chitti scolds him a lot of times...but he continues to tell anu about everybody in abhi's house and these two feel miserable, but keep their mouth shut. Then finally he tells mano that the only good thing he has done in life is marrying Anu. They eat the food and while leaving get some gifts too and leaves. Chittapa's son asks why all these over acting by him now...so he says that it is a long term plan and ano is a rich girl and when she gets wealth from her family he will try and get it for her being in good terms with her and also...nobody likes her at abhi's house so its good that he keeps her in good books for money... chitti scolds him and goes and his son says what if she doesnt get it...then he says he will go to court and help her fight and get the aasthi.

Uma and her deadbeat husband are at Thol's house as usual sipping coffee made by who else but our resident coffeemaker Shanti. Thols walks in and Uma asks Thols to find a job for her hubby in Abhi constructions. Thols wants to know why she did not go to Ganga, Uma says that Ganga still does not trust her husband even though he has now reformed to a good person. Thols still looks uncertain but Shanti asks him to find the deadbeat a job at Abhi constructions. Thols then offers him the job of a storekeeper at Abhi constructions and the deadbeat and his wife are very happy. Thols asks the BIL not to mention to anyone that he has got the job through Thols.

Anu and Mano on their way back home after their visit to Chittappa's home. Anu is singing praises of the chittappa saying what a nice person he is and how since he is a "periya manshan" and they should all try and be on his good side. Mano tells her that it is all fake and that chittappa is a nasty character. Anu lets the topic go and says that she wants to visit Rajesh too as he has been so helpful. Mano agrees and calls Rajesh asking if they could come and visit him and Rajesh immediately agrees.

Abhi is seen interviewing DB (deadbeat) and he spins a sob story of how he is supporting his drunken FIL and his family! Abhi as usual falls for this sorry tale and gives him the storekeepers job. He asks her to talk to a lady (didn't catch her name) and get further details about the job from her. He goes to the lady who asks him if he has any questions, and he says that he does not know anything about the job and therefore has no questions!! He is more interested in knowing if Abhi is really divorced and if her ex-husband works for her. The lady gives him a dirty look and walks away.

Bhaskar and Krishnan are in the home of Vidya's fianc. Bhaskar is telling the guy the sad state of his life and the other guy in turn returns the favour by saying how his business had to be closed, and how they had fallen into hard times. He tells Bhaskar that he was willing to come down to an amount of 5 lakhs for the wedding and that money would help him set his son up with a new business. Bhaskar wonders on how to porattufy this money and this man asks him to make money on the side through his job (read illegally!) Bhaskar the idiot, is of course considering the idea….

Update for Wednesday 26th July 2006

Ganga walks into the office and seeing her BIL is shocked and confronts him. BIL gleefully tells Ganga that he is now an employee of Abhi constructions and is the new storekeeper. She marches into Thol's cabin and angrily asks him why he gave her BIL a job. She tells him that her BIL is not a good person and he has not changed his ways. Thols says that if she thinks Bhaskar has changed, why not her BIL. Ganga of course has no answer to this. BIL is eavesdropping and Krishnan comes by. Bhaskar also comes by and BIL asks him who he is. Bhaskar says that he is Abhi's husband.

Sundari is seen cooking and Rajesh is ordering her and his mother around. His friend Guru is also sent off to buy some banana leaves for the newlyweds to eat in. Mano and Anu are there and Mano tries to tell Rajesh that they have just had lunch but Rajesh insists that they should eat at his home. He says that they will anyway not eat much here as Sundari is the one cooking and if only Aarti was around she would have cooked up a great meal for them, as she is an excellent cook. Anu consoles Rajesh by saying that Aarti still loves him but does not know how to express herself and that she would come back very soon. She also says that she must have left for some other reason that no one knows about and Sundari who is listening to all this looks worried.

Bhaskar along with Krishnan and a broker are seated (Same guy who made Aadhi an offer for the flats) Broker offers them a deal of selling flats behind Abhi for 20 lakhs per apartment. Krishnan says that no decision in Abhi constructions is made without the approval of Bhaskar and Bhaskar is preening here. Krishnan wants to know how much commission they would get and the broker says 5 lakhs. Krishnan wants Rs 25,000 more and the broker agrees and leaves. Giri is waiting outside and is briefed by the broker as to what happened in his meeting with Bhaskar. A very satisfied Giri calls Adhi and updates him on the latest happenings.

Mano and Anu are being dropped home by Rajesh. Anu insists that Rajesh come in for a coffee. Aarti walks in and demands to know where they were. Mano says that they had been to chittappa's house and then to Rajesh's house. Aarti wails that today all her manam and mariyadhai is gone because you have visited Rajesh. Anu says that they went to chittappa's house as Karpagam wanted them to and they went to Rajesh's house because they wanted to and Aarti has no say in this. They argue and Aarti threatens Anu that she is stepping out of her place. Anu says that she is where she should be but Aarti is not. She says that Aarti has no respect for her husband or his family and as such had no right to point fingers at her. Aarti of course has no answer to this and all of them leave to go their separate ways. Rajesh asks Aarti to come with him and she throws him a killing look and leaves…
