Update for Wed, Feb 1-2006 Pretty interesting episode

Kanchana's house

Adhi/Usha are preparing to leave for Mumbai and Anu/arjun are helping
out with the baggage.Kanchana's mother puts kunkumam on everyone and
then Adhi wants to see his mother before leaving. Kanchana is shown
lying in the bed with a melancholy face. Adhi says he is leaving but
she mumbles a reply and tells him to go ahead. When again asked by
Adhi, she says she is having a slight headache. Immediately, adhi
tells her that let's go to hospital etc. But his Grandma interrupts
and says why to make such a fuss for a simple headache and Adhi says
it is his mother and hence he has to care. She says that Kanchana is
not only mother for you but for other children here as well and so you
shd rather carry on. Adhi then reluctantly leaves the room.
Now the loading of the baggage in the vehicle is in progress and
Anu/Arjun are cheerfully talking to Usha/Adhi about the trip. Arjun
tells usha to go to Andheri (in Mumbai) for shopping and buy something
for them and so on.Kanchana watches the unfolding scene from a
distance with misery and feels more and more sad and starts sobbing.

Adhi/Usha on way to Airport

Adhi/Usha on the way to airport. They don't talk obviously. Usha keeps
a pleasant face but Adhi tries not to keep a scowling face. Usha wants
to take a tablet which falls on the floor and Adhi reluctantly takes
it and gives it to her. More reluctantly, he hands over water to her.
Usha mumbles a thank you. (perhaps a little softening of feelings!)

Chittappa's house

Chittappa walks into the house with the money briefcase in hand.
Satish's wife/mother/sister anxiously waiting at home, ask him where
is Satish. He instead says he has brought 40 Lakhs rupees. Chithhi
blasts him saying she is not interested in money but rather wants to
know abt Satish only. At this, chittappa says Satish's associates
managed to leave but he could n't get away in time and it seems he has
been captured by the people there. At this, Satish' wife/mother start
crying and start scolding him and express their anxiety abt Satish's
fate. Now we see Satish near the door and he explains that he was
captured and put in a room and when the people were out, he managed to
escape by breaking a window (real lame duck story—just like if you all
remember about Joe's escape from Kodaikanal). satish has been beaten
black and blue and his mother feels very sad to see his condition and
wants to put medicine etc but Chittappa takes satish away saying these
injuries are nothing compared to the money earned and he considers it
like a "veera thazhumbugal from a battle field" (real comedy!!) and
tells her he will give Satish some booze to heal his wounds (sic).

Kanchana's house

Kanchana is lying in the bed and tells her mother that Adhi has been
spirited away by Usha. Her mother retorts saying that she only allowed
them to go and they have only gone to Mumbai. But Kanchan is
disconsolate and keeps talking an says that her mouth only told Adhi
to go but her heart did not. Now we see Adhi's vehicle coming back to
his house and Adhi comes out and goes straight to Kanchana's room. Of
course, his mother is overjoyed to see him and he says he cannot bear
to be separated from her and that is why he came back. His grandma
asks him what a foolish thing he has done. He tells her not to
interfere and walks out. Usha watches all this with concern and does
not know what to do. Kanchana meets Usha in the corridor and tells her
triumphantly that Adhi is her son and gives a scornful look at Usha
and goes away.

Ganga on the road

We see Ganga, the mystery girl, with another person traveling in a
vehicle. TC happens(?) to be behind her in his two wheeler. A cyclist
comes suddenly in front of Ganga's vehicle and collision happens. The
cyclist is not much injured but a crowd soon collects with some
"pettai rowdies" and obviously they try to threaten her and want to
extort money from her for causing the accident. But Ganga says who are
these people to ask for money and says she will report to Police and
immediately says she will call Commissioner. When she actually starts
dialing, the crowd disappears leaving the poor cyclist who refuses
Ganga's offer of some money and leaves. Watching all this is our TC
and he looks very impressed. Ganga now sees him and says we are
meeting under different circumstances now. TC tells her that he is
impressed with the boldness with which she tackled the scene witnessed
just now. So saying TC goes away and the camera freezes on Ganga.

Update for Thur Feb 2-2006 Routine stuff except for last part

Alamelu's house

Alamelu is shown taking milk from cow and coming out of the cow-shed.
UN watches her closely but does not say anything. She keeps trying to
probe his mind as to why is he standing there but he keeps quiet.
Suddenly, the house owner comes in and goes to the cow and finds the
cow without any milk. He says even the calf has not taken any milk
and so what must happened to the milk? May be someone is stealing. At
this alamelu retorts saying why u are trying to blame us. Then he says
he is not blaming them,rather he is trying to warn her that the same
thief who is stealing the milk may steal something from their house
also. so saying he goes away saying he will buy milk from outside.
Un watches all this and then asks Alamelu why she stole the milk. She
says she just needed it and that is why she took it. Otherwise, she
says when u are asking for coffee, from where it will come you think,
she asks UN. You are good for nothing and cannot bring any money for
the house and you want to ask all this,are you not ashamed, she tells
him.
When all this talk was going on, Kala had come in the meanwhile and
was listening and then unable to control her laughter, slowly leaves
the house. Alamelu's daughter sees her leaving and hurriedly comes to
her parents and tells them why you are fighting in view of others.
Just now Kala heard all this and left the house. Alamelu on hearing
this gets upset that her image (!) will get spoilt before Kala and
says she will go to Kala's house to spin some other story.

On the road

A middle aged woman (Sabita Anand) buys something from a
shop and walks in the road and suddenly faints. Our Aabath sagayan for
all (TC) comes accidently in a auto and promptly rescues her and says
he will take her to hospital. The scene ends at this point.

Kala's house

Alamelu comes in and sees Kala doing some work. She tries to explain
something about morning's happenings and says that the houseowner is
bad etcand says she is s very transparent person. Kala asks whether as
transparent like milk? At this Alamelu realizes that Kala can't be
fooled and changes the topic. She asks where are the other people in
the house?arthi,rajesh,Sundari and Kala says Aarthi has gone out and
other 2 are here only. At this, Alamelu asks her whether she put the
vibhuti given by sorcerer on Aarthi's saree. Kala says she did all
that but nothing happened to her. While she was discussing these
things, Aarthi comes in and starts listening and Rajesh also comes out
of the room and sees what is going on. Alamelu tells that she only did
sorcery and ensured that Anandhi's marriage got dropped and also she
did more such things to spoil Abhi's business also. At this, Aarthi
starts to show her presence (to Alamelu/Kala's shock )and tells her
that Anandi's marriage was stopped due to her own blunder (running
away with Rajesh) and abhi is still doing well in her business despite
all your sooniakari velai. She says you are talking abt all this, can
u tell that which maya manthiram killed your prospective DIL on the
day of her marriage? Unless you have a good mind, nothing good will
come to you. You are virtually on the street now and depending on
others' generosity to see even TV or grind flour and from where u are
talking all this? So saying she goes away.
Rajesh also joins in the attack and tells her if she talks with her
big mouth again, he will ensure that her mouth is not there anymore.So
saying, he leaves.Sundari who has also come in remains there and
Alamelu asks her why she is keeping quiet,u also say something.(like
Dharma adi!!) sundari says that Rajesh/Aarthi have already said
whatever to be said. Alamelu tells Kala that all these 3 people shd be
taught a lesson by us. (Alamelu Typical thirundhadha janmam!)

Sabita Anand's house

S.A's husband (typical Iyengar get up) is very annoyed that his wife
has not yet come back home and is ranting that his food is getting
delayed and where is this irresponsible lady! His daughters are trying
tp pacify him but he keeps on talking the same thing. He says he does
not know where she is roaming outside. His daughters say they will
give the food but he insists on being served by his wife. At this
point, S.A enters escorted by TC and her husband instead of thanking
him , asks him searching questions. TC replies that she seems to have
high BP and so fainted and had to be taken to hospital. S.A tells that
she did not take the usual BP tablet in the morning. TC starts to
leave and one daughter tells TC she will make something for him. S.A's
husband ( I have to keep calling like this till I know his name) says
anyway he is leaving, why are you bothered.
TC leaves and in the door, he meets Ganga who is just coming in and
the scene freezes. So I think Ganga's mysteries may be unfolded tomorrow.

February 6, 2006 - Monday updt

Ganga's agham -

Thaila, Ganga's mom is asking her about money to spend on the mottai adithal function for her grandkid and Ganga points to her dad, who washes his hand in the plate (how nauseating) and belches loudly and asks Thaila to bring him coffee as the pongal he had just then was sitting in his stomach (where else would it sit? if he had at least not eaten it, it would have been still in the plate). KB touch-nu TC-kku nenappu. symbolic-aa kai alambi (kazhuvi) vidaradhai kaattugiraar, of the entire affair. Ganga refers to this and tells her mom to ask money from her eldest son, Balamurali, GOK where he is..Mom looks on helplessly with the concerned sister watching them. (thanks to Usha, a point to note, the mama Belchian is a VIP too)

Pathirigai office - cool, anandhi is now an asst editor (udhavi aasiriyar) and a guy in front of her says he is Balamurali, the mentioned-in-the-above-paragraph-no-good-first-son of Mrs.and Mr.Belch. He says he is a cartoonist and has come here to look for a job and could he please see the editor? Anandhi asks if he brought along his portfolio and he gives her one. She glances through them, does a S.J.Surya-act (ah, aah) and then asks how long has he been dabbling in this. BM says he has been doing this ever since his college days. Anandhi enquires where did he work before and finds out that he had been with another reputed newspaper for the past 5 years. She is curious as to why he left working for such a good establishment and he says, well, I have some weaknesses; I am too good and soft for my own good; I hate to talk ill about people (as far as I am concerned, that by itself is a great drawback for a newspaper guy - he has to meddle and talk about others); '

Anandhi asks how did that affect his work and he says, many folks wanted me to lie in order to do something; i did not want to expose them at the expense of furthering my career which is a weakness I have all along, and hence, quit that job. He again asks her about the editor when Anandhi informs him that he is on a trip to Delhi and has asked her to talk to him. The bespectacled BM then figures out that he has been interviewed all this long and comments so. Anandhi confirms and says, it is the policy of the company to conduct such informal matter-of-fact interviews as against a group of HR guys attacking you from all sides. It is also the norm of this office to inform the results then and there and tells him that he has been selected. She says, for this job, you have to be considerate of people and looks like you have that trait in you and hence, you can start working right then if he wishes so. BM is astounded and delighted and accepts.

Scene 2:

Hospital - doctor's office - Adhi's family doc -

Adhi enters her office and she requests him to sit and then asks about his general well-being and his business. She then starts talking about how he looks after pregnant women who are in his employ. A guy who is supposed to be brilliant doesn't have a clue why she is getting to this and exhibits surprise but she asks him to answer and that she will get to the matter soon. He says, he offers a lot of privileges to would-be-moms and they get fully paid maternal leave and he also helps them financially if they are short of cash and his company is generous in these aspects. She tells him that a woman should be looked after really well when she is prgenant and it is imperative that she has her full support ofGujaratiband as she is emotionally fragile during this time and needs all the help she can get. She asks him if you are this considerate towards your employees, how come you have neglected your wife? He is startled (duh!!) and she asks him did he not want to marry Usha? He gives a Rajendrakumar look (gnE) and swallows whatever that was in his throat (his adam's apple was bobbling) and nods his head yes. (looked like he actually thought abt this for a moment - he did after all, want to marry her initially).

The doc says she is sorry if she seemed to be poking her nose in his private life but hey, she is their kudumba doc and as such, their well-being is her concern too. She says that it looks like your wife is neglected and you don't even seem to know how far along she is. again, the whole lecture, a pregnant woman needs physical and mental support throughout her gestation period and she is plagued by doubts and worries during this time as her body goes through these changes and isn't it the duty of the father-to-be to offer his full support to his wife at this critical time? she says Adhi does not even know if Usha is going for her regular check-ups and that she is anaemic and also very weak and so it is up to Adhi to be near her and take care of her and offer his much needed TLC. Adhi all along has this caught-red-handed-while-copying-and-standing-in-front-of-the -principal look and he says, he will take care of her. Doc continues abt taking good care and apologizes if she spoke out of turn but thought with her intimate connection to the family, she can talk freely about this to Adhi and tells him that he and his family members better start taking good care of her.

Adhi walks out afer nodding his head a couple of times and while he is waiting for a guy to pass him, overhears another husband enquiring anxiously and joyously to a doctor about his to-be-soon-born kid. The conversation stops Adhi and the other guy shows pleasure in looking at the ultra-sound image and informs the doctor that he will be happy if he gets a son who looked like him but had the nose of his wife. (or brain, sorry, I digress - maybe she had kiLi mookku) and wants to know if he is going to get a son or daughter, never mind, as long as the baby is healthy that is all he is bothered about. Adhi looks on and looks like this affects him slightly (maybe he will go look at Usha's still-flat-stomach lovingly, wondering if he will get a son who looks like him but comes out dressed like his mom in Gujarathi style saree OR a daughter who looks like his mom but shouting/giggling yo-yo like a maniac). He walks on while the music plays an emotional tune. thara-na thara-na.....

Scene 3:

A well-dressed Ganga walks with a file in her hand towards RK (RK of kolangal - Mrs.Rajamani Kandaswamy). Looks like the hotel which Ganga manages belongs to the NRI group that wanted Abhi to build a huge project and then jerked the rug out from under her. RK welcomes her and tells her that she has something in mind for her. She looks sad and thoughtful and Ganga asks why and she says that she has been cheated out by her so-called partners. The could not stand taking orders from a woman and they want to usurp her position within their group and had vetoed her project and whatever advancements a woman makes in life, men always feel that they should be at the top. She tells Ganga that she is mighty disappointed but she would show them who rules. she asks for Ganga's support and she tells Ganga, two women if they put their heads and mind together, make a tough opposition and we will show them who wins in the end. I will continue with the project I have in mind and I will succeed beyong their wildest dreams. Ganga provides the necessary assents and then offers her support. RK gets up to answer a phone call and one of the head waiters come and talk to Ganga that madam must indeed be thinking of offering a prime role for Ganga in her future endeavors and Ganga should be lucky.

Ganga nods her head and takes leave and as she is walking back towards the door, one of the so-called-chauvinist-partner, who has been eavesdropping the meeting, hails her and asks for a couple of minutes with her. Ganga refuses at first, amateurishly accusing him of cheating her boss madam but he insists. She then goes with him to a private area near the swimming pool and he tells her that the future RK envisions will happen only on their side and it would be prudent of Ganga to join them. She refuses but he tells her that whatever RK has in mind, had to do with acting against Adhi who is all powerful and so will not work in the end, so it is better for Ganga to jump ship and board their vessel with hefty pay. Ganga says, 'never' will I desert madam and also she is banking on me. Then, the guy says, you are fooling yourself if you think it was you she had in mind when she said we two women will team up against the men - she was talking about Abhi. Ganga says, who is that Abhi, I don't know anyone by that name and he tells her that she is Abhi from abhi constructions and RK wants to build a project with her in mind. Ganga says as she doesn't know who this Abhi is, how can she act against her? and also, she believes in madam and thanks him and walks on. She turns and comments, endha abhiyaalayum ennai oNNum seyya mudiyaadhu...

She turns a corner and run smack dab into Thols, who is seen conversing with the great Abhi on his mobile phone. He hold the phone off and apologizes and Ganga says they should stop meeting like this and suddenly remembers something, whips out her handbag, fishes out 200 bucks and is about to hand it to him saying that she owed him that for taking care of her mom. She does an about turn and says, sorry, there is a problem, this is the only cash I have and so, I have to hold on to it and will repay you some other time. Thols, (smitten look) shrugs and talks in the phone, nothing Abhi, I just ran into somebody....Ganga asks, ingayum oru Abhiyaa, who is that and Thols says this Abhi is his friend and Ganga says, well, I don't like the other Abhi whom I heard about sometime back and Thols says, well, this abhi is great and is so pleasant, looks like you have thing against the other Abhi. Just because the names are the same, doesn't mean they have the same temperament...enga Abhi is Atha-personified...Ganga says ok and then leaves. Thols says all if fine to Abhi and then shuts the phone off and looks longingly/thoughtfully at the receding figure of Ganga, soft romantic music in the background...(watch out, very soon, veLLai dress clad dhEvadhaigaL are going to prounce around singing, tham thananam, thana, tham thananam thana....)

Update for Wed Feb 8-2006

Ganga's house

The same scene continues from yesterday. Ganga's father continues to
talk in a high handed way and accuses Ganga of talking in that manner.
Ganga tells him don't expect me to think only about marriage,
husband,family etc. I have also got my aspirations and expectations in
life. Now he says how dare you talk like this and almost comes to beat
Ganga who goes away. Ganga's bro/sisters try to restrain him.Now his
anger falls on his wife and he says she is responsible for all this
because you have raised a girl like a boy and now she is talking
beyond all limits. She is very proud that she is the earning member in
the house and that is why she is talking like this. S/Anand tries to
defend saying don't blame me for all the things and says Ganga does
not listen to me –what I can do.He gets more angry and says ponnai
valarthurkare vidham idhudhan and tries to beat her also and in the
middle, Ganga comes in again and asks her father if you want to tell
something tell it to me, instead why are u trying to hit mother? He
says she is his wife and he may beat her or kill her even —you cannot
ask anything. Ganga says she is also the girl of the house and she has
every right to ask.Then he says you should listen to me .Now Ganga
says I will do what I want-- you cannot say anything to me.If you
don't want me here, I can stay anywhere else. There are plenty of
places available to stay and pointing her hand at him says he only has
to decide whether she should stay in the house or not. The father now
tells his wife,see is this the way a daughter should speak to her
father and tries to blame her for the way ganga is behaving, again
saying she has not brought up her properly.Balamurali and his other
sisters try to restrain father.

UN's house

UN is sitting in the house when Krishnan saar comes in and gives
Rs.1000 to him saying that Abhi has sent the money to him for getting
his medical check up done. UN initially refuses but later accepts and
keeps the money in the shirt lying in the chair and goes in to get ready.
Now Alamelu walks in and mouths the usual pulambal about the heat
outside and wonders how she will manage in summer.she looks around for
UN and does not find him immediately and wonders where he has gone
roaming. Now one man who had earlier sold a saree to her on
instalments comes in and asks for the instalment due. An argument
takes place where Alamelu insists she has paid the instalment and he
says she has not. He says she has paid only Rs.190 where as she says
she has paid Rs.300. She says she will check in the notebook and looks
for the pen inside the house and while searching for the pen,finds out
the money lying in UN's shirt. Her eyes go wide open and she is aghast
and happily surprised at seeing the money. Taking the money she comes
to the door and after some adavadi talk with the man, she says she
will pay Rs.900 instead of Rs.1010 and settle him away.Reluctantly, he
accepts and cursing her goes away.
Our UN now comes in after washing his face and finds Alamelu
confronting him about the money. He gives some feeble explanations but
she fires him left and right and says you have made some money by
doing some part time perhaps and instead of spending it on your
wife/children who are starving you are hiding it. Are you a man
really? She asks in a disgusting way to him and UN is left with a more
pathetic face ever seen in the serial! (But he does n't know that his
troubles have just started and he is due for some more firing in this
episode itself!!)

Outside Mylapore Kapaleeswarar temple

Easwar is seen waiting outside and KKK comes out of the temple.
(Whenever KKK meets Easwar nowadays, KKK forgets her kanneer karayal
and becomes K only and Easwar becomes perhaps KKE). Today's dialogues
also went in that way only. The background music turns to the same
tune (about pavamannipu) played when they had met 1st in his office.

Easwar pleads with K to talk to him but she says there is nothing to
talk about. She and her children had lots of expectations from him
before but because all these hopes were belied, they don't need
anything from him. He says he is regarding all the children equally
and has great affection for Abhi,Anandiand Mano.. She however tells
him she is lawfully wedded wife and these are our children and whether
you can publicily accept it? He says due to circumstances, it is not
possible. When he offers to help for Abhi/Anandi's marriage, she looks
at him in a cheap way and tells that as a father you shd not say you
will help your children. It shd have been your duty. She says you are
talking like some rich person trying to help out poor people. She says
do you know how much we suffered during Abhi's marriage and during the
split with Bhaskar.if a man like you in the father position was there
in the house, surely he would have been able to take the matter in his
hands and would have done something. We are always short of money and
that is nothing new for us but when your children needed a person of
father status in the house, you were not available. He then pleads
with her to accept some help at least but she says if you want to do
something, please keep away from us, like she had told him on an
earlier occasion.
While they were talking on the road, a car passes by and sitting in
that car is Anjali. She watches the scene and sees her father with
another woman. Obviously Easwar is in for more agony tomorrow. ( He
might now think that his trysts with KKK are better than getting right
royal firing from Kanchana)

UN's house again

UN is seen sitting outside his house and Vidya arrives in a scooter
dropped by Ramesh. She just walks in only with a slight hesitation and
UN tries to advise her that she is not doing the right thing.Already
she had the problem with Ramesh by being seen near the hotel and now
why she is behaving like this. She asks satirically, how you can ask
these things. He tries to remind her about the betrothal ceremony. She
then asks him you were supposed to pay 15 lakhs for the marriage but
you cannot pay Rs.10000,even 1000 Rs is not with you. As far as I am
concerned, she says,Betrothal matter is long past forgotten. You are
not a high level cultured person to talk abt all these things. As a
father, what have u done for me? either by way of money or anything
else. Bad day for UN—he gets some more dose from his daughter and the
screen freezes on his face.

Update for Thursday Feb 9-2006

UN's house

Continuation of yesterday's scene where Vidya bangs UN left and right.
She says as a father u are pointing at me saying why I behave like
this. But as a father, what u have done for us. Take example of a
small piece of land, jewellery, money, little comforts—have you given
any of these to your wife/children -- nothing- and so you are
literally a total waste.If I were married to you for this much time
like mummy, I would have thrown you out long before. Bhaskar was
always calling u a total failure and he is absolutely correct. So
saying she goes inside the house leaving UN shocked.
Now UN is seen near the railway track and soon he is walking on the
track itself looking very disoriented. A train is coming very fast and
UN now slips and falls on the track. The train is shown coming more
close now but there is a ad break announced.

Police station

After the ad break, the scene shifts straight away to the Police
station and we see UN apparently been rescued and sitting there
looking disheveled. (They don't show the rescue) The inspector,
believe it or not, the famous KVK of Anandham fame, looking a little
younger perhaps, asks him searching questions. When asked why you
tried to commit suicide, UN says he was just walking on the railway
track when he slipped and fell. Inspector says normally younger people
only commit suicide for love affairs,exam failure etc. Says more
cruelly that you are so old and in normal way itself, you may die
within 10-12 yrs, why you want to commit suicide. UN as usual does n't
seem to comprehend the whole matter and keeps on saying that he had
some problem with his wife/daughter and so he was walking on the track
and slipped etc. Inspector says it is an offence to commit suicide and
they have to take action. UN asks to go but the Inspector says if u go
now, u may do the same thing again and we will be in trouble.On
further pleading by UN, he says you call somebody from home and then
on their responsibility, I will let u go. UN says no phone at home,
and Inspector curses his constable for bringing such a lousy fellow.
Then UN says he will try for an old friend of his and keeps on trying
his phone number but no one answers.

In the next scene, his friend (saminathan) is seen in the station and
says UN is a heart patient and had some problem with wife/daughter and
that is why this happened. Inspector advises him and on his
responsibility, allows him to take UN with him.Inspector also says
that such people shd not be left alone.

After coming out, saminathan asks him why he did like that. UN says
his wife pulled me down badly and that is why he was walking on the
track. He,however, was not thinking about suicide.But I now feel that
the train shd have run over me so that I could have died and escaped
life like this.
Saminathan says what sort of a wife this Alamelu is ? What does she
really want from you. Even after so many years of marriage, she has to
treat u like this.He also says that he as a friend is available for
him and also Abhi is available and for our sake at least you shd not
do like this. He asks how much Abhi will feel if she hears this?

Chittappa's house

Sumati comes in and goes to her mother and gives her first pay
packet.Her mother appreciates her for considering her responsibilities
despite being in ill health etc. Sumati says she wants to keep the
money before God and pray. Her mother says we will give this to your
father and you seek his blessings.
They come to Chittappa who sees takes the pay packet and sees how much
money Sumati has earned. Then he throws the money on the floor saying
you are all trying to humiliate me by working in an office like this.
He had employed so many people and now his daughter has to show her
teeth at some XYZ to earn money. Chithi says nothing wrong in working
and you have not changed still. But he further shouts at both of them
and goes away leaving the two shocked.

Adhi's house

Adhi and all members of his family are taking food being served by
Usha. Anjali is seen eating with full concentration. Arjun cannot
resist teasing her and says such a vayadi is seen without lifting even
her head now only because she is eating. Even in her marriage time,
her head will be high and she will keep her head down only in pandhi
(for feast!). Anjali retorts back and says you are a lazy bum and
don't do anything. Adhi comes to her support and tells Arjun that you
are not coming to Gym with me, not coming to office and just roaming
around. All this friendly banter is on,even Usha smiles at the scene
and now Kanchana with a very smiling face asks Easwar ( who is taking
food absolutely silently) everyone is talking and why u are so silent?
He says what is there to talk—I am not talking because I have nothing
to talk about. Now Anjali picks on him and tells her mother that Dad
has nothing to talk to us but with some ordinary woman on the road, he
has lot to talk and that too in a very timid way. Now Kanchana's
instincts become sharper and she asks her what u are talking. Anjali
says when she was coming in the car, she saw Dad in a nearby street
talking in a very submissive way with a woman who looked like
threatening him. Easwar is fully on alert now and tries to diffuse the
situation saying what are you talking about – it is nothing much.
Anjali goes on and asks jokingly whether you have taken any money from
her—few lakhs perhaps? Kanchana now asks Easwar the deadly
question—who is that woman and what relationship you have with her so
that she can ask such questions to you in the middle of the road?
Easwar's goose is truly cooked and he just stares at her and the
screen freezes.

I was about to write "poor Easwar", then I thought this guy more than
deserves what is happening to him!
I liked the way the tone of the last part is slowly raised to a
crescendo with Kanchana asking most frightful question to Easwar.

Highlights 14 Feb 2006

ARthi is in a hotel roof top asking her scheming exboss to eat and feels bad about him havign to face his dad's wrath for helping rajesh. It is kind of stupid that arti is feeling sorry for her boss, and he gives her an option to work in his company so slowly she can repay the 2 lakhs.

Dont remember the middle part

ending usha's father is discussing with his wife, about seeing adhi in a jewlery shop & about how adhi was putting the chain around her neck, & he felt that somethign was fishy, usha's moms says they are jsut friends, bu tthen they decide to go to usha;s hous to see her. In the meantime the maid servant take out the food and kanchana asks if usha has eaten The maid says no she does not want to eat, kanchana calls for usha and keeps yelling at her as to how usha does not eat ad the doctor insults kanchana for usha not eating. Usha asks kanchana what is your problem. At that time usha's parents enter and kanachana complains about usha and ushas dad says can we speak in a calm manner, & the kanchana says ferociously VAAYA MUDUNGA. usha & co ar eshell shocked

Highlights

- Narayanan goes to meet abhi & refuses to have the operation, as he found out she did not get the NRI contract. Finally abhi convinces him to have the operation.

- Thuls over hears abhi & narayanan, so abhi share the info that narayanan has brain tumor & does not want anyone to know. Thuls advises that she must tell narayanan's family, as atleast they will treat him right.

- Abhi tells bhaskar this, bhaskar is thinking about thsi and walks aimlessly & thuls meets him on the way & advises bhaskar to take good care of his father. He tells bhaskar as tohow much narayanan wants abhi & bhaskar to unite & how thuls has felt that he shoudl also have a father like narayanan. Bhaskar says he will take good care of him

- Bhaskar is in his backyard, while narayanan spots him and bhaskar & naraynan have a talk about his illenss, quiet emotional, & naraynana says that anyday he is going to leave even if he has the operation, & bhaskar was right when he has called him as a useless person. Alamelu hears all this and comes and is now too scared and cries her heart out and is begging bhaskar to somehow protect his dad. Bhaskar is very emotional his sister comes and finds about this and finally narayana takes a very upset alamelu inside, bhaskar is very emotional and screen freezes on his face

Part-1

UN comes to Abi's office. Our good old TC still has lots of old scenes
shot with Abi and he will show these regularly, may be just to keep a
facade of continuity for Abi!
UN tells her that he came to know that her NRI project has not come
through and so as you have such financial constraints, please don't
think about my operation. This operation will also cost at least 8-9
lakhs. Abi gets very sad at hearing this talk and tells him that
saving him is her duty. UN says she has done enough and more for
him.Also, how he will ever repay this debt? Abi gets a little annoyed
at this and says there is no debt consideration in Father-daughter
relationship. She says she wants him to live etc etc. Also somehow,
she will arrange the money.Finally she asks uN to promise to her that
he will do the operation. UN had to agree and then he leaves.
Abi comes upto the door to see off UN and she is met by TC who asks
her what is UN's ailment. When Abi replies it is brain tumour he says
UN's home people must be made aware abt this so that they will treat
him in a more considerate way at least. he tells her to tell someone
in UN's home about this. Abi nods.

Part-2

Bhaskar seen walking on the road lost in his own thoughts and a guy
riding a scooter nearly hits him. He then abuses Bhaskar for walking
in the middle of the road so carelessly. Just then our TC is seen
there (he seems to be omnipresent) and he asks Bhaskar why u are going
like this. He says he does not know where his life is headed, who will
be living etc He says Abi met him and told him about his father's
condition. TC says that UN is a great person and Bhaskar shd be
fortunate to have him as a father. He is always thinking good for
everyone only. Even in ur case, he is always thinking of making u and
Abi together. You and I may have had lots of difference of opinion but
please listen to what I am saying abt this matter. Please treat your
father in a proper way. Abi also will do something for the operation
and so everything will be ok. Bhaskar is thinking.

Bhaskar comes home and UN meets him there and asks why u are in very
deep thought. If it is about the money, don't worry, money may come
and go. You wait and see, you are going to win again and your
condition will get better and so on.. Now Bhaskar asks him that
perhaps he may get the money back but can I get my father back? UN
looks stunned

Part-3

Continuation of earlier scene. Bhaskar says he is rather upset that UN
did not tell about his ailment to the family and he had to hear from
someone else. He also says he has spoken bad about his father on
several occasions but all that does not mean that he does not want his
father. We need u here, he says.UN says u have told me as a failure
quite rightly becaue after coming to Chennai, 30 years have passed but
he could not buy a land, save some money for his son's future or
conduct even his daughter's marriage. Bhaskar just says you are my
father and we all need you. Hearing this talk, Alamelu also comes in
and starts crying and tells her husband that she wished God were to
give that disease to her rather than to him.Now she starts saying, if
u die what will we do etc etc. Vidya also joins in with her
brother/mother and the whole family is crying and UN tries to console
them. (sudden about turn in the family attitude towards UN—Bhaskar at
least after the suicide attempt was shown to be a little more refined
person).

Update for Thursday Feb 16-2006

Bhaskar's home

Bhaskar,Alamelu,Vidya sitting at home looking very sad. UN comes in and tries to cheer them. Alamelu says she has told so many bad things to him—at times even said go and die. All this her kari nakku said and not her heart, she says. How we will live without you—she says. UN says Abi is preparing for the operation and then everything will be ok. He will live long enough to see the growth of Bhaskar,marriage of Vidya,see/play with his grand children etc. Alamelu says how u can die before me and starts crying. UN says Abi will ensure your poovum and pottum are not affected. Now, Alamelu says she has made lot of his favourite dishes and rushes to kitchen to serve him. UN now consoles his daughter and son saying everything will be ok.

Rajesh's house

Rajesh is taking food served by Sundari. Aarthi tells Sundari that she has to go to office tomorrow early because she is going to another office. Rajesh asks as to which office you will be going. She says she is going to Arvind saar's office. Rajesh looks shocked and says he is not a good fellow. Aarthi says she is going because of Rajesh only. She has to repay the money lent by Arvind to pay for the theft blamed on Rajesh. This can be done only by working for him in his office.But Rajesh does not accept this saying he did not take the money—if he had caught hold of that fellow that time, he would have thrashed him and found the truth. Now he says we can sell the Auto and repay his money but aarthi says the auto was bought under Marwadi finance and so you can't sell it. Rajesh says still you shd not go to that job because he is not a good person and he will try to trap you. Aarthi says you are not knowing about him properly and she will definitely go and work there.

Ganga's house

Ganga is doing something on her PC when her sister's children come to her and say that they will sleep with her today. Ganga is surprised and says normally u are sleeping with ur mother only. They say that mummy is inside and told us to sleep here. Ganga wonders what is going on and tiptoes near Uma's room. A song is heard from the room "Kurai Onrum Illai" (Song written by Rajaji and made famous by M.S.subbalakshmi). Slowly Ganga opens the room and finds Uma singing the song and her husband (Ramachandran) sitting there, wearing goggles inside the room,enjoying the song,drinking booze and lots of side dishes spread around him. She asks Ram why you are behaving like this He says this is my bed room, I am with my wife –how can u ask me anything? The talk gradually gets worser and Ganga then says if you are taking your wife to your place, then u can behave as u like but not here. You are taking food from your father in law's place –she reminds. Just for 5 sovereign gold u kept your wife here and why are u coming here now? he says nu are not supposed to ask this—let ur father ask that. He then said u give me the 5 sovereigns gold and I will take my wife and go away. Ganga says she has the money but does not want to give to a 3rd class fellow like you. He sais now that you are not behaving like a woman-rather u are proud and behaving like a man (in a contemptuous way). Ganga loses her control totally and picks up the liquor bottle and tries to go and beat him. He escapes and goes out of the house and slips and falls. All this scene is being watched by Ganga's mother/father/brother. father just sits without uttering a word. When Ram runs out of the house, Ganga is restrained by her brother/mother/sister and now Ram says he will never come back to the house and tells his wife that her sister only is responsible for this. Ganga shouts back at him.
In the next scene, we see the gates of the house are locked and Ram is trying to come in. Uma is at a distance and whispers to him that Ganga is sleeping inside and don't come now. But still he wants to come in and now he starts climbing the gates (in the dead of night). Suddenly, Police come there and seeing this guy climbing the gates start questioning him.He replies in English (sic) that "I am decent sir" "I am working in private office" "I am going to my father in law" etc. But Police say in crude Tamil that unnai mamiyar veetukku kooti pokirom and pack him in their vehicle and drive off. Uma watches this and comes near the gate but says something very feebly, unable to prevent her husband being taken away.
