Mohan lal and Kamal together!

'Ulaga Nayagan' Kamal Haasan has always expressed his interest to work with Malayalam superstar Mohanlal. In 2000, he invited Mohanlal to play the role of a psychiatrist in his box-office winner Thenali, but Mohanlal politely declined the offer. Eventually, the role went to Malayalam actor Jayaram.

Again in 2006, there were reports that these acting legends might come together with Keertichakra II, a sequel of Keertichakra (2006) directed by Major Ravi. Unfortunately, it never came true! "Good things happen over time, great things happen all at once." Well, the fans will now lucky be enough to witness their much-awaited "Lal-Kamal combination" which will be one of the biggest unions in South Indian cinema.

The Malayalam superstar, who's celebrating a high time at the Mollywood box office with a continuous success of his recent releases Kurukshetra and multi-starrer Twenty:20, has agreed to don a role alongside Kamal Haasan in his upcoming venture Thalaivan Irukkiraan, to be produced by Gemini Films Circuit.

Reports said that Mohanlal met Kamal Haasan last week in Chennai and discussed the film, to be written and directed by Kamal Haasan himself. Mohanlal has in-principle agreed to do this an action-packed adventure film which will also feature Bollywood star Rishi Kapoor and Telugu action hero Venkatesh. According to unitial information, the film will be shot in US and Switzerland. The music is by A.R. Rahman. More details will be known after a meeting to be convened in Chennai next week.

The new development came after Kamal Haasan's much-talked about big budget venture Marmayogi was shelved due to lack of funds. Anyway, Thalaivan Irukkiraan will be a treat as two of the finest actors in contemporary Indian cinema will be coming together for the first time.
