if you watch the full episode you will understand it was just a joke. It was not a rude remark.

This thread is an excellent example of the old saying 'never judge a book by its cover'. When u take words out of context they can mean something entirely different. After seeing the episode all the ppl who thought he was rude must feel like complete i****s.

lol, well said!!....and he was only JOKING....if u see the whole episode....u'll see that Karan Johar too says that who's SRK?!....they mixed all the clips to make it spicy and more people see and talk about it ....like u guys are!! i cant believ so much has been blown out of proportion."

secondly, i luved the episode.....Richard was soo hyperactive & sweet/cute....specially when he hugged Karan after the show....he just dont wanted to leave him!! and i luve almost all his movies...specially, Pretty Woman, Chicago and Shall We Dance?

i believe, what he's doing to our country is tremendous job and we all should respect him and we shouldn't forget that everyone's got there own opinion....i m sure there are soo many people in this forum who dont like SRK and make fun of him or just swear to him...anything!! but anyway in this story this is not the case!!.....HE WAS BEING SARCASTIC!![hope evryone knows what sarcasm is...lol]

OFF COURSE HE WAS BEING SARCASTIC.
HOLLYWOOD ACTORS WOULD DO OR SAY ANYTHING TO PROMOTE THEMSELVES. MEDIA ATTENTION IS THEIR LIVES.
I MEAN LOOK AT THEIR SO CALLED SHORT TERM MARRIAGES, AFFAIRS, CHARITIES, KIDS ADOPTIONS, FOR THE SAKE OF PUBLICITY IN ALL THAT.
RICHARD GERE DEFINATELY KNOWS WHO SHAH RUKH KHAN IS, YEAH HE WAS BEING RUDE AND SARCASTIC IN A WAY NOT TO GIVE IMPORTANCE TO HIM.
WELL IN USA INDIAN CINEMA DOMINATED 20% OR MORE SO ITS IMPOSSIBLE HOLLYWOOD AND ITS ACTORS NOT TO KNOW HOW BOLLYWOOD MOVIES AUDIANCE IS GROWING SO FAST AND EVEN THE FAMOUS ACTORS AND ACTRESSES ARE.
HE HAD DONE HIS HOMEWORK VERY WELL AND KNEW WHAT HE WAS GONNA SAY, HE MEANT TO BE RUDE. OH YEAH COME ON KWK AND NOT TO KNOW WHO SHAH RUKH KHAN IS!!!!!!!!

He meant that in joking spirit... he was saying that if he entered bollywood, even a king like SRK would be put down. And it was Karan who started it in the first place...

Infact just 5 mins b4 that Richard was praising SRK and his acting, and was saying that he met him and all. So he obv knows who SRK is... I mean, who doesn't? 😳 😆

lol, no one wants to hear or believe truth here!!.....HE was NOT being RUDE....it was sarcasm to karans question as he asked one thing which comes to his mind when he says SRK....so his reply was WHO is srk?!....which means that everyone knows who he is do i have to tell!!....if u guyz remember the episode of saif & soha....in rapid fire round karan asked saif....what does he think of marriage so he replyed in a cheeky yet sarcastic ...."WHO?!" ....try recalling that episode and understand that he wasnt being rude!!

and as the person above me said that they were talking about SRK , Amitabh and Aamir like 5minutes before the rapid fire round started!.....karan should richard few scenes from each of their movies and asked him to comment on it and he praised like anything for SRK saying how humble and down to earth and stuff he is!!.......so i would say that first do ur homework[watch the episode] and then comment on the issue!!

i havent seen teh video yet...nor read anything about it...but from wat i see here...seems like it was a joke...

like u noe i think it was either srk or hritik..dun remember...but karan asked one of them a question about whoes the better actor...or like rate in order of preference or sumthing..and karan gave a list of the top actors...

and den either srk or hritik said "who are these ppl...i duno them...pssh.." (i think it was hritik)..

it was just a joke naa...i think thas how richard gere meant like.. 😆 and karan asked him first..den he said it..loll

now after watching this clip...i wanna see the episode 😆
