Off screen of course, she is frank, forthright, she is fabulous... All the things we love on this show, we hope she is all that and much more tonight... Kareena: Oh God...
Karan: So tell me, life has been good, you just won an award for your performance in Omkara... were you shocked, surprised, or just extremely happy to receive it?
Kareena: I was shocked I think because I really didn't expect it...
Karak: Who did you think should get it or would have got it?
Kareena: I thought they would have given it to Kajol for Fanna because it was her come-back film and besides she is such a lovely actress... but somewhere deep down, I wished they would give it to me because I felt I deserved it... (smiles)
Karan: (smiling): well, of course you did and of course you think you did... Tell me about your career graph, you are one main-stream actress who hasn't given many successful films but still you have always been on top... How do you explain that?
Kareena: I don't know, I think it is only because of the belief I have in my talent and myself and beside of which films doing well or not doing well doesn't really matter, if you are talented you are here to stay ... I've always tried to do something different in each and every film... The easiest thing is to look pretty in a big project and standing next to a very big star...
Karan: So basically you think you have taken risks... Not only did you take a few risks, you took on a few people... There was always talk about the problems you had with Shah Rukh, with the Chopras, with the Bacchans, of course we sorted our things out on this very sofa... When you look back, do you think all those news items were justified, today is it all sorted?
Kareena: Firstly, I think there was no problem with Shahrukh, or with the Chopras, I didn't fit into any of the roles they were making but now I'm working with them...
Karan: you just signed a Yash Raj film...
Kareena: I really respect Yash uncle and Adi is one of the finest film makers... And Shaharukh and I have been great, whenever we meet, he has been so very warm to me and I love him and we are all friends now... As far as the Bacchan family is concerned, I really don't know what the issue is... From my end there is no issue...
Karan: So basically all happy, all sorted, and all raring to go...
Kareena: Absolutely...
karan: Ok wonderful! Who are your new friends bebo?
Kareena: (laughs) Oh God!
Karan: The story goes that Kareena only prefers friends who are not a threat to her... IS that true?
Kareena: I don;t think so but the only actress say I'm closest to is Amrita Arora... She is my only genuine best friend who is an actress...
Karan: You were getting very close to Priyanka Chopra... Has that maintained?
Kareena: No it hasn't... I think we are acquaintances, we work together, I think it is best it is that way...
Karan: Now you have been dating Shahid for how many years?
Kareena: over three years!
Karan: three years! Someone your age, maintaining a relationship for that long, you should be proud of that as well!
Kareena: well, you know me, an emotional fool!

Kareena: I'm not the kind to jump in and out, that's not the way I am...
Karan: You think the relationship has changed you?
Kareena: Well, yea he is a major positive influence on my life... He plays a major role...

Karan: Three years with kareena, Shahid, that's a long time... How would you best define your relationship with her...
Shahid: It goes beyond words. She is the centre of my life. I can't think of a day without her. I am very thankful to God for having her in my life. I think I am very lucky...
Karan: Do you remember how it all started... Anything kind of funny the way he proposed to you or asked you out for the first time? Anything interesting or did you jump on him?
Kareena: yea, you already know me too well...
Karan: yea, you must have made the first move...
Kareena: He did not even bother... For two months, I had to chase him...
Karan: You chased him?
Kareena: yea, i was the one who was initiating SMS's and calls and asking let's meet up...
Karan: you were hard to get , Shahid?
Shahid: (laughs) no...
Karan: so finally you got him?
Kareena: finally we met up and things started but it was me who made the first move and accelerated this realtionship...
karan: Is she the hyper hysterical girlfriend .. Is she the where you are, what you are doing kind of girl friend …
Shahid: She has calmed a lot in the last three years .. but I think every woman has these insecurities .. and I think it takes the two people to understand and deal with each others' areas of ups and downs .. but I think .. yes I am sure she has .. and so do I have these phases of insecurities which we all do .. I think she has come to trust me a lot ..it takes time for things to settle down ..
Karan: insecurities are very normal because you are working with the best looking man and you are working with beautiful women... Are you sometimes hysterical like ask him did she look pretty today or what did you do during lunch break... Do you ask all those questions? (all laugh) I'm sure you do bebo, come on , out with it...
Kareena: yea, I do sometimes because Shahid is a very good looking guy and his smile can charm a lot of women so I get a little nervous...
Karan: are you nervous about anyone in particular?
kareena: ummmm, no... (all laugh)... I'm not going to name them Karan... off camera!
Karan: (to shahid): what about you? any insecurities about any heros she has worked with?
Shahid: In the beginning, I guess I was insecure, not insecure but wanting to know where she is, what she is doing because we did not know each other very well, we came from different backgrounds... we didn't have anything in common, we were discovering each other but today for me the relationship has reached the phase where it will only break if something goes wrong between us... I don't think anything from outside can break the relationship... I think we have given each other enough security...
Karan: How difficult is it to be faithful though? You'll are very young!
Shahid: If you love each other, I don't think it matters...
Kareena: It's not at all an issue... If you love one another, you cannot even look at another man or another woman...
Shahid: if the other person is leaving you unfulfilled in any area or you are not sharing it or are not being open with each other, which happens in every relationship but you have to sort it out... Bebeo makes up for making sure that everything is talked about in the realtionship... (all laugh)...
Karan: to Shahid: I've known you through her and You have remained the same but there have been dramatic changes in Bebo's life, we discussed that she is vegetarian now and she is headed towards a more spiritual zone and that's because you are spiritual... and that has been a great influence in her life... No body really knows how spiritual you are at your young age...
Shahid: yea, it something very personal, I don't talk about it much but I've also changed with Bebo, I've become less boring, I used to be quite boring...
Karan: the both of you have also been through ups and downs of each other's career... You didn't have a success till Vivah came along... In that phase do you think bebo was a tremendous strength? Coz you gave a series of flop films!
Shahid: yes, she was and I did gave a long series of flops... (laughs)
Karan: she actually counted them for me the last time she was here... (all laugh)... but Vivah has been a big big change in your career... Today do you feel like all the patience has finally paid off!
Shahid: yes but I would say I wasn't very patient in the beginning because of which I made some wrong choices... now I have learned to be patient and it was very important for me to go through the phase that I went though to somewhere understand the balance that it is not only important what you do in front of the camera, it is extremely important what you do behind it... There might be a lot of talent in the actors who might not be as successful as some people who are not so talented but have made better choices...
Karan: You are quite a couple because you both made wrong choices together... (all laugh)... compatibility is fantastic on that front but today it has all changed... I think everything eventually pays off...
Kareena: I just love the journey I've been through...
Karan: because he has been a part of it?
Kareena: yea, of course ...
Shahid: the last three years has cemented a lot for us... When you are there with each other during trying times, it makes the relationship a lot more and when you go through those times, you enjoy the success a lot more... I'm so happy for Kareena, she started 10/10 so it's important for her to see both sides...
Kareena: Even the side i saw, it was very strange like my films weren't doing well but like you said it didn't really do anything drastic for me so it's very weird coz it has never ever happened to any actress...
Shahid: You can never see a film and say kareena was bad...
Kareena: (to Shahid) do not ask Karan this question...
Karan: there has been one or two, I know when I see shot when she is not feeling it... Even in K3G, there were one or two scenes where she completely over-acted for no reason! There is this funny story where we had a scene where it was Amitji's mother's funeral and there was his chita scene where I told Bebo that you, jayaji, and kajol have to cry, so she cried and cried, and cried and she kept crying in the back... She put tons of glycerine and wept and wept and wept and then we packed up and I said good shot and then she was walking to her make-up van and she asked me by the way who dies in the film? (all laugh)... She didn't even know who died and she was crying... I told her it was Amitji's mother and she asked who's playing that character? Then she said, oh I think I over-reacted...
Karan: On that note, I'm going to take a break... Wonderful couple, Shahid and Kareena, they are passionate , they are faithful and almost perfect... Does that happen today, keep watching!
