Been on television for almost a decade
I started doing television sometime in 1994-1995. I did lot of shows across all the channels. But I think in recent times the most memorable roles have been in Kesar, Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi and Ye Meri Life Hai.
I also a few films like Mr Bechara with Anil Kapoor under a pseudo name of Meghna. Sadly, none of the films really turned out to be successful and my roles were being chopped without my knowledge.
I play Rasika on the new Balaji show
On the new show I play the role of a mother who wants to see her son make it big. She's not negative unlike my previous characters. Her husband is a very rich lawyer and highly successful.
We haven't yet started shooting on the show, but I am really excited to start working. I want to forget about everything that happened in the past and think positive. I was also offered ADA on SaharaOne, but didn't want to take on lot of dailies.
My marriage was a disaster
I got married around 2000 and it was a terrible mistake. It was a terrible marriage from the beginning. He was a pilot in the States, so I had to shift there along with him. He came from a totally different background than mine, and that's where the basic problem was.
The biggest joke is that I got my divorce almost four years after separating with him. I gave up my career and the most important years of my life for my marriage, but it turned out to be the lowest phase of my life.
Because of the mental torture I went through, I also suffered from cervical spondilitis. I would start throwing up on the sets and could not concentrate on work.
Sunita Menon told me it was black magic
I met a lot of astrologers and tarot readers and they all told me that someone was doing black magic and voodoo on me. I didn't actually believe them, but when Sunita Menon told me the same thing, I had to trust her. My in-laws are capable for making life miserable for me even after I am not a part of their life anymore.
I want to get back with a vengeance
I cannot undo the past, but I want to get back to work. I really appreciate the warmth that Ekta (Kapoor) has shown me. With the new show I aim to get back at my detractors and prove myself once again. The industry has changed a lot in the last four years and there's hardly any time to waste.
