She has barely recovered from a road accident, and Aashka Goradia is already harnessing ambitious plans for the future. Besides her television career, she intends to now bring about positive changes in society, by joining politics.
"Joining politics will help me fulfill my dreams," says the 20-year-old Aashka. "Politics, by itself, isn't bad. It's the corruption that makes people lose faith in it. I am aware that politics is powerful business and a politician possesses a lot of powers. I want to use this power to help create awareness about important issues among the common man."

Her other plans involve starting a 'no abortion' campaign, for which she has already met Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi to seek his help. "I do not want to comment on my meeting with Mr.
Modi," she says. "Yes, I do want to start work in that area as soon as possible. All I'm waiting for is help from the right people." To further this cause, she intends to meet pharmaceutical companies manufacturing contraceptives and doctors.
Starting an orphanage is also on Aashka's agenda. Does this shift mean that it's good-bye to television and acting? "Not at all," she says. "It's all about good time management. I will continue to act too."
